    Just picked up my 24 TRD Off Road and I'm absolutely doing the first oil change at 1,000 miles, spent too much money not to take care of it the right way 👍

    the number on thing the dealer always misses on the PDI is hood tension adjustment.. I'm talking about raising the rubber bumpers to take the shake out of the hood latch/striker. We broke/sheared our hood striker on our brand new GX460 at like 5k miles because it wobbled in the latch. Our new sienna did the same thing but I caught it in time to save the striker 😅

      Hi sir. Do you think that the dealerships will start having their mechanics do a pdi and check the oil pan for metal shavings? Thank you sir for your time. I have a TRD sport 22 that I am very happy with but I really like alot of the new improvements on the 24 Tacoma. I figured that if I can't get a good deal for a new 24 limited that I have no problem with keeping my 22. If it's good enough for alkida and the taliban, it's good enough for me. Thank you for your time. It's not a funeral, make some noise. @@Beacon_Offroad

      I would have liked to get my o7 taco blue but now it's 🟣 purple. Hate your regular silver white and black and the only other color is 🍊 orange.... really. So my hand is forced. Would be nice if Canada didn't get all the shit colors. U.S. has a lot better colors like iron oxide and such.

    Hey great video! Would love it if you did a full oil change on the new 2024 Tacoma. I have the same trim but in silver and would love to learn how to do it myself especially for the first 1k which I'm coming up on.

  • @noxnyc23

    I wanted that color but there was none on the lot.. I ended up with the blue crush taco sport.. drove it easy for the first 1K miles. Change the oil and filter at 2500 miles..also a 3rd gen owner , i can’t tell you enough how awesome this 4th gen’s are.. congrats on your taco.. I also have a 2014 wrx sti turbo 4 with 175k miles stock. Best thing to do with these engines are to leave it stock and follow maintenance. Should last a long time.. oil change is your best friend with turbo engines..

      So far, virtually everything in some way is slightly or alot better than the 3rd gen.

  • @EverydayJ1786

    I'm a technician myself , I highly suggest switching to a 5w30 synthetic motor oil rather than the recommended 0w20. turbo engines create a ton of heat , stepping up one step in viscosity will greatly improve the life span of the engine and its components . People need to understand that the only reason manufactures recommend these new lower viscosity oils is to satisfy EPA and CAFE government regulations/laws . They do not have true engine longevity in mind . I personally run 5w30 in my 21' rav4 . The engine runs significantly quieter and I have noticed zero decrease in fuel economy . Also DO NOT follow Toyotas oil change interval recommendations . 10000miles/16000km intervals are terrible for engine longevity . Its Toyotas ploy to advertise the idea of "low cost of ownership " I recommend 5000 mile/7500km oil change intervals if not even sooner .

    • @lokkstarproductions6918
      @lokkstarproductions6918 7 дней назад

      You win the award for the stupidest advice. Auto manufacturers today use thinner weight for cold start, gas efficiency and yes EPA. Don’t mean you put in thicker oil when the engine bearing clearance is made for 0w20. You can use 5w20 but the maximum weight is 20.

    Check the tire pressure! A streamer found out his tire pressure was 52 psi and it was supposed to be 30 psi. The dealer didn't even tell him.

    Pretty brave buying a new 2024 Toyota Tacoma given the 2022-2024 Tundra engines grenading.

    • @Beacon_Offroad
      @Beacon_Offroad  6 месяцев назад +4

      @nvpoolshooter I don't think so. Everyone exaggerates and likely makes it seem worse than it is. We have a warranty for a reason.

      @@Beacon_Offroad I dunno. Recalling a 100,000+ Tundras is pretty significant. You should have went with the Frontier with its silky smooth V6.

    • @kevinbradley8613
      @kevinbradley8613 6 месяцев назад +12

      Bro, we get it… you like your frontier and you want everyone else to own one. That’s fine, but what are you doing here commenting on a Tacoma maintenance video? Maybe if Nissan still offered a MT in their truck, I’d have considered it 🤷‍♂️. Why not let folks make their own decisions and drive what they want to drive? Tacomas and Frontiers are both awesome trucks! There are a bunch of solid choices when it comes to mid sized trucks and SUVs.

    • @nvpoolshooter
      @nvpoolshooter 6 месяцев назад

      @kevinbradley8613 Trying to educate the Toyota fanboys into making smarter decisions. Toyota has had some serious issues of late. You're a mechanic. Have you seen the kind of recall issues on the Frontier and Titan like seen in the Toyotas? Rusted out frames. Grenading engines. The Tundra is dead. We'll see how the new Taco holds up. I've already seen reports of trannies going on the new Taco. My point was, again, why take a chance on a Toyota truck when clearly, they got some serious issues. BTW, your maintenance tips were spot on. Especially changing the original oil at a 1000 miles.
