I think the black whale is entirely set up to be a death game on all levels, bc level one is a ship that could still sail if all levels below were to sink.
It would also fit with the theme of post-mortem nen being stronger: What if the 200k or so people on the black whale are food for a blood ritual and are meant to be sacrificed for the new kinf of Kakin? If they're willing to kill all the other princes, what will prevent them from killing all these people to attain more power (through nen) so they can conquer the world and then the dark continent?
Which only begs the question further on why Beyond agreed to be a part of this. He seems to be set up to swoop in and steal the show at the end. Perhaps recruiting the surviving prince or stealing their ability/power. Either way Beyond just doesn't seem to think he is any danger whatsoever.

This chapter is a testment of Togashi's accomplishments. If any other author were to drop a chapter like this after even a few months of break i (and probably many other fans) would've straight up dropped the ball there. It's astonishing how much raw faith i have in mr Togashi.

Too all of you who’s trust is shaken. Honestly think about the fact that he has been writing this story for decades and just took the longest hiatus of his career as we know. During that time do you think he didn’t think about HxH at all? I’m sure he has had a decent idea or more about exactly where he wants to take the manga once he starts up again, I trust him entirely with his art but I’m scared for his health and losing the whole series like berserk.
The plot of Tserreidnich's friends almost killed me. Togashi showed his genius writing when he made me CARE SO DEEPLY about this group of people whom I didn't even know before 394 with just those few pages.
To be honest, this group of young innocent soldiers who're almost certainly going to get massacred my monstrous nen users really reminded me of Attack on Titan

Adding lots of characters means a longer story arc. However, this would have been a good news if Togashi didn't have a history of going MIA. How far can he go without needing years of break? This arc is already packed with LOOOTS of characters that need more development (The Zodiacs, Ging and Pariston, Beyond Netero, All the princes and their key subordinates, the 3 mafia leaders and their key subordinates, most members of the phantom troupes, Illumi and Kalluto etc.). Now we getting more every week? I'm more worried than excited.
Doing this chapter by chapter as the new ones release is so helpful. I feel like the last 3 chapters have been more hard to follow than usual, so this is great.

Togashi writes without a plan and just improvises a story on the fly. His natural talent in storytelling carries the series, but it is why it is so surprising. He doesn't plan it out at all so it's not predictable because he's winging it. Also doesn't help that he is Mr. Hiatus.
I love your point of "you get out what you put in". It's very Togashi. I feel like it can create this indirect mystery of not knowing who is important to the story and who isn't. Forcing you to treat everyone as important when no one really stands out character design wise or how they are introduced into the story.

Damn, the introduction of Slackers in the story adds so much more complexity to the story. We might also end up getting an interesting insight into the last traces of humanity in Tserreidnich (or Tserrie). His interactions with Theta do show a very slight shift in mentality. Ideally he would have thought of killing theta straight away, but he seems to have developed a 'tolerance' for her. Interesting times ahead.

I think that this arc is amazing in so many ways , but the most amazing way is that togashi found a way to make people who don't know nen to learn it pretty quick , because if you're not a genius like gon or killua or serdinish it will take you months or even years to compete with the people on the ship, but since there's not enough time , then the way togashi did it is just perfect and logical and doesn't contradic the nen basics at the same time . Just amazing 👏 .
Wow that is a very good point he does a good job of not watering down the Nen system he has cultivated so long by basically diving even deeper into it with abilities that still follow established laws of Nen. That's brilliant
I wonder if there was a mistranslation years ago, where it isn't that they have to get to level 20, but that they start at level 1 and need to gain 20 levels. It would explain the confusion from the last chapter. Also, there are no nen tangents, as everything about nen is tied to the story.

the random cha r guy that said "he got the same kind of powers as the boss" is referring to nen as a whole, those guys dont know much about nen so everything supernatural is in the same category for them thats why he says its the same kind of powers.
I love that this arch really enforces the idea of how and why nen should be kept a secret and why the hunter exam or having a proper training is so important.
As the bodyguard with “Predator” said, Even certain newbie Nen users can be a threat depending on their ability. It’s just most of Morena’s seem to give the impression of not really making good Hatsus or useful ones One thing about Nen is useless Hatsu’s won’t get you far, whether they are used for battle or support but they need to fit your mentality, ability and the occupation you chose. People forget but while all hunters know Nen or some form of martial arts, not all are strong like Hisoka or Killua. Many have Hatsus catered to their jobs and as we seen, many types of jobs. But 9/10 times, hunters are overall better Nen users than the average Nen user like Morena’s gang and hunters can defend themselves to some regard. Also as Benjamin’s second hand man said, hunters know more about Nen than even Benjamin and his Nen guards.

Youpi evolved over time and developed Hatsus that worked perfectly for him Then again, they are chimera ants and have for more potential in Nen than humans
you know...i got this odd feeling when those guys talked about "cutting out" those who get captured...are they literally holding what remains of Tserriednich's humanity? they seem to know him more than anyone else and somehow want to be his friends to the point of avoiding getting close to him. this might be more complicated than it looks...
Having the chains on his right hand might be a way for Kurapika leave his left hand free from being encumbered by the chains and whatever else might be caused by them, so it doesn't directly means Kurapika is certainly right handed.

Also when Benjamin's guard was analyzing Kurapika's nen type, he didn't mention conjurors tending to be left handed. Just that they keep their dominant hand free for conjuring.
So something from the last chapter is still sticking out to me. When they got to the theatre complex the only discernible movie poster was for the thing. A movie about a monster that can change its shape to blend in. This is also the chapter that Hisoka returns. I think that particular movie poster is no coincidence but I’m wondering does it refer to Morena’s followers, to Hisoka, or to something else entirely. Interesting to speculate on, not sure if anyone else noticed.

The ability doesn’t belong to the old man. It’s the person who stated in the previous chapter that he could replace Luini, Voconte. He said “we’d have to wait for them to come to us. Or we could invite them in” chapter 393. Page 6. The ability is called Door.
I think Kurapika uses his left hand to conjure his chain gauntlet onto his right arm, which leaves his left hand open for other things like punching someone. Remember, he said his enhanced fist was just slightly stronger than Uvo's skin. To me that always sounded like Kurapika was punching with his strongest hand, just in case.
In my opinion Those Tserrie's friends will be the catalyst of his very last moral and with out moral a genius like him is a biggest threats to the entire ship .Morena is smart but she has no moral prove that she is born inferior compare to Tserrie .
My head cannon is because in my case, every left handed person I’ve met is focused on that fact, like it’s something that makes them special and they like showing it off in a lot of cases, or pointing it out to others. So adding that to the fact that conjurors are fixated on their dominant hand for nen abilities, maybe lefties are prone to conjuroring because of their prior fixation on their left hand

Min 3:28 i think that kurapika having his chains on the right hand shows that he’s left handed so as to keep his dominant hand free (left). Plus if we think about it, right handed people usually put accessories (like a watch) on their left hand. So i think that the theory of conjurers being left handed still stands
Can Hisoka then technically also make a clone as he can just make a new body from Bungy gum, that would be quite cool as he is my favourite character in HXH. (He did create new body parts out of Bungy gum)

not sure if kurapika knew or suspected the whole left vs right handed thing from the beginning of his nen journey (unlikely because it was all new to him then? or plausibly deduced since left handedness is less common and kurapika is smart enough to guess?) but he did try to conceal his nen affinity by wearing physical chains leaving his opponents to guess at whether he was a conjurer or a manipulator. so it is possible he purposely chains his non dominant hand so people are distracted by it and has some secret chain ability on his left hand that may be unleashed later (a 100+ chapter secret in the making lol). He may also be ambidextrous. He was using a two handed weapon in the hunter exam arc right?

One of the guards being infected with contagion and "betraying" Morena, while also killing a bunch of her soldiers would potentially make a new contagion source with completely different loyalties and goals. There is nothing about contagion that says that someone has to be loyal to the original. It's an ability that is such a complete nightmare that I suspect the guy who uses the net ability predator will figure contagion out and wipe it out on the ship at some point.
NGL (not the country) every time i see walls of text in this manga my eyes glaze over and it's a struggle to power through it. i'm glad hxh isn't a light novel, but sometimes it seems like Togashi-sensei reallllly wishes it was. no disrespect of course, Togashi-sensei is a beast of beasts. very grateful for his genius.

I think the left-hand thing is for both Transmuters & Conjurers, due to being on the left side of the Nen ring if someone were to wear it, just like how Conjurers & Manipulators are on the bottom & have noticeable habits in common.
Theta is a hunter, but not one of pariston’s temp hunters. The older princes were able to choose if they wanted their bodyguards to be hunters so they could have an alliance with the hunter association. Tserriednich approved and had Theta along with 4 other bodyguards take the hunter exam.
How many chapters ahead would the Manga need to get to reasonably continue the anime? With bleach back and new chapters of HXH I'm once again hopeful 😅

I've never shook my head at dialogue until today. Of course the added detail makes these conversations all the more enthralling, but it is so hard keeping each of these players/factions identified & pinned down mentally while processing all of these added information with respect to these same entities. The obscurity of the mafia names makes it even more difficult to keep track. "Cha-R", really? How are these obscure group names and their various allegiances meant to be remembered after such long stretches in publications?
Does this mean other princes graduated the Kakin military academy? Could Benjamin find at way to recruit his siblings and end up inheriting their nen abilities when they die? I feel like a solid manipulator under his command and a sound strategy would be all he'd need. If he can pull that off he becomes the instant front runner for the succession war in my book.
New world review. I’ve figured out Gings ability, at least one of them. Please continue reading. HXH is by far my favorite anime, ever. And your videos are inspiring to say the least. Thank you for all this content. One of his abilities is he is able to take. We know this but not the condition. He can “copy” abilities and do them better by simply watching them, even once. But here is the catch and there is evidence to this. Whenever he takes, he gives. That’s the condition. So if he takes Leorios ability for example after being punched he grants something like luck or good fortune to that person. It can be abstract as well. I can site 3 pieces of evidence to this. 1. After seeing Leorios punch and being purposely struck by it he could not only do it, but much better. However he gives in return, in this case, Leorios is granted more status which propels him into being the next Chairman. 2. His friend Wdwune “Dwun.” After changing his name ( which is a take) Dwun was granted superior health despite being sedentary in lifestyle. This was discussed when Gon was given the Rulers Blessing. 3. Gon. He took his father away by being absent and it’s no longer in doubt that Ging orchestrated his entire life to make him a much stronger Nen user and person than even himself. Gon was very fortunate with great friends, teachers, and outcomes. That’s my evidence, what do you think?
I’ll site two more pieces. Mr. Satotz, states that whenever he found a historic site he left it better than he found it. It must be assumed he took something from these sites, being a hunter. Fifth, Kite. Ging was his master and crazy slots was given to him. What did he take? That’s up for debate but it could have been his time in making him search for him to return his Hunter card. This fits his personality too, whomever he takes from benefits so it makes sense he is so passive and reclusive. Not everyone is deserving or worth it.

I am left handed, but I throw, arm wrestle and bowl with my right. I can box both regular and southpaw. I guess you could say I'm ambidextrous, but I can't bowl or throw with my left and I can't really write with my right. It could be similar with her - arm wrestling with the weaker right arm doesn't mean she's a lefty. By that assumption, I'd be right handed - but I'm not.

I think that this arc is amazing in so many ways , but the most amazing way is that togashi found a way to make people who don't know nen to learn it pretty quick , because if you're not a genius like gon or killua or serdinish it will take you months or even years to compete with the people on the ship, but since there's not enough time , then the way togashi did it is just perfect and logical and doesn't contradic the nen basics at the same time . Just amazing 👏 .
Wow that is a very good point he does a good job of not watering down the Nen system he has cultivated so long by basically diving even deeper into it with abilities that still follow established laws of Nen. That's brilliant
I wonder if there was a mistranslation years ago, where it isn't that they have to get to level 20, but that they start at level 1 and need to gain 20 levels. It would explain the confusion from the last chapter.
Also, there are no nen tangents, as everything about nen is tied to the story.

It’s just most of Morena’s seem to give the impression of not really making good Hatsus or useful ones
One thing about Nen is useless Hatsu’s won’t get you far, whether they are used for battle or support but they need to fit your mentality, ability and the occupation you chose.
People forget but while all hunters know Nen or some form of martial arts, not all are strong like Hisoka or Killua. Many have Hatsus catered to their jobs and as we seen, many types of jobs.
But 9/10 times, hunters are overall better Nen users than the average Nen user like Morena’s gang and hunters can defend themselves to some regard.
Also as Benjamin’s second hand man said, hunters know more about Nen than even Benjamin and his Nen guards.

Having the chains on his right hand might be a way for Kurapika leave his left hand free from being encumbered by the chains and whatever else might be caused by them, so it doesn't directly means Kurapika is certainly right handed.
Na, conjurors leave their dominant hand free because they do their conjuring with it. The chains are his conjuring. he's right handed.
Kurapika is not normal (as he is from a especific race, theres also the nen change when his eyes get red). So he is the point out of the curve.

Also when Benjamin's guard was analyzing Kurapika's nen type, he didn't mention conjurors tending to be left handed. Just that they keep their dominant hand free for conjuring.
So something from the last chapter is still sticking out to me. When they got to the theatre complex the only discernible movie poster was for the thing. A movie about a monster that can change its shape to blend in. This is also the chapter that Hisoka returns. I think that particular movie poster is no coincidence but I’m wondering does it refer to Morena’s followers, to Hisoka, or to something else entirely. Interesting to speculate on, not sure if anyone else noticed.

The ability doesn’t belong to the old man. It’s the person who stated in the previous chapter that he could replace Luini, Voconte. He said “we’d have to wait for them to come to us. Or we could invite them in” chapter 393. Page 6. The ability is called Door.
I think Kurapika uses his left hand to conjure his chain gauntlet onto his right arm, which leaves his left hand open for other things like punching someone. Remember, he said his enhanced fist was just slightly stronger than Uvo's skin. To me that always sounded like Kurapika was punching with his strongest hand, just in case.

In my opinion Those Tserrie's friends will be the catalyst of his very last moral and with out moral a genius like him is a biggest threats to the entire ship .Morena is smart but she has no moral prove that she is born inferior compare to Tserrie .
My head cannon is because in my case, every left handed person I’ve met is focused on that fact, like it’s something that makes them special and they like showing it off in a lot of cases, or pointing it out to others. So adding that to the fact that conjurors are fixated on their dominant hand for nen abilities, maybe lefties are prone to conjuroring because of their prior fixation on their left hand

Min 3:28 i think that kurapika having his chains on the right hand shows that he’s left handed so as to keep his dominant hand free (left). Plus if we think about it, right handed people usually put accessories (like a watch) on their left hand.

Why does the Heil-y family make me think "This is what happens when you give a random subredditors a bunch of nen abiltiies"
not sure if kurapika knew or suspected the whole left vs right handed thing from the beginning of his nen journey (unlikely because it was all new to him then? or plausibly deduced since left handedness is less common and kurapika is smart enough to guess?) but he did try to conceal his nen affinity by wearing physical chains leaving his opponents to guess at whether he was a conjurer or a manipulator. so it is possible he purposely chains his non dominant hand so people are distracted by it and has some secret chain ability on his left hand that may be unleashed later (a 100+ chapter secret in the making lol). He may also be ambidextrous. He was using a two handed weapon in the hunter exam arc right?

Well there was kurta clan massacre offscreen and mafia. But this arc is pure mayhem.
One of the guards being infected with contagion and "betraying" Morena, while also killing a bunch of her soldiers would potentially make a new contagion source with completely different loyalties and goals.
There is nothing about contagion that says that someone has to be loyal to the original.
It's an ability that is such a complete nightmare that I suspect the guy who uses the net ability predator will figure contagion out and wipe it out on the ship at some point.
One day, I will get through hunter hunter and read his work thoroughly. Until then, thank you for covering it!

I don't think the left handed thing is supposed to be taken too seriously. Kite, Kurapika, and cheetu all use their right hand to conjure. It also wasn't mentioned when Benjamin's Guard was analyzing Kurapika's nen type. He just figured out he was right handed because conjurors summon with their dominant hand. It's either just a weird tendency of Morena's group or just slightly frequent in general.

Had to read each page 3x to fondly understand that I’m confused asf after reading this chapter.
I think the left-hand thing is for both Transmuters & Conjurers, due to being on the left side of the Nen ring if someone were to wear it, just like how Conjurers & Manipulators are on the bottom & have noticeable habits in common.
You said Theta wasn’t a Hunter, but that’s not true, she’s one of Pariston’s temp hunters.
Theta is a hunter, but not one of pariston’s temp hunters. The older princes were able to choose if they wanted their bodyguards to be hunters so they could have an alliance with the hunter association. Tserriednich approved and had Theta along with 4 other bodyguards take the hunter exam.

I've never shook my head at dialogue until today. Of course the added detail makes these conversations all the more enthralling, but it is so hard keeping each of these players/factions identified & pinned down mentally while processing all of these added information with respect to these same entities. The obscurity of the mafia names makes it even more difficult to keep track. "Cha-R", really? How are these obscure group names and their various allegiances meant to be remembered after such long stretches in publications?

I was surprised you made no comment of the grup of names of Morena's people that seemed to be clear references to One Piece.
Does this mean other princes graduated the Kakin military academy? Could Benjamin find at way to recruit his siblings and end up inheriting their nen abilities when they die? I feel like a solid manipulator under his command and a sound strategy would be all he'd need. If he can pull that off he becomes the instant front runner for the succession war in my book.
New world review. I’ve figured out Gings ability, at least one of them. Please continue reading. HXH is by far my favorite anime, ever. And your videos are inspiring to say the least. Thank you for all this content. One of his abilities is he is able to take. We know this but not the condition. He can “copy” abilities and do them better by simply watching them, even once. But here is the catch and there is evidence to this. Whenever he takes, he gives. That’s the condition. So if he takes Leorios ability for example after being punched he grants something like luck or good fortune to that person. It can be abstract as well. I can site 3 pieces of evidence to this.
1. After seeing Leorios punch and being purposely struck by it he could not only do it, but much better. However he gives in return, in this case, Leorios is granted more status which propels him into being the next Chairman.
2. His friend Wdwune “Dwun.” After changing his name ( which is a take) Dwun was granted superior health despite being sedentary in lifestyle. This was discussed when Gon was given the Rulers Blessing.
3. Gon. He took his father away by being absent and it’s no longer in doubt that Ging orchestrated his entire life to make him a much stronger Nen user and person than even himself. Gon was very fortunate with great friends, teachers, and outcomes.

Fifth, Kite. Ging was his master and crazy slots was given to him. What did he take? That’s up for debate but it could have been his time in making him search for him to return his Hunter card.

I am left handed, but I throw, arm wrestle and bowl with my right. I can box both regular and southpaw. I guess you could say I'm ambidextrous, but I can't bowl or throw with my left and I can't really write with my right. It could be similar with her - arm wrestling with the weaker right arm doesn't mean she's a lefty. By that assumption, I'd be right handed - but I'm not.
