It’s just thrilling mystery interlaced with adventure and magic fighting. Like the giant hand protruding from the east side of the dark continent. Not to say that we are going to meet this creature in the story, but there must be some terrifying giant creature lurking on the giant continent. Togashi will confirm this one way or another :)

How big is the Dark Continent? The actual PLANET Hunter X Hunter takes place on must be the size of Jupiter.
@nzin1357 The world of Toriko is nowhere near as twisted as the Dark Continent, the Dark Continent alludes to the fact that it's very Lovecraftian, which really means that once you set foot on the Continent you find yourself in a whole different tier of existence. It was especially implied in that scene where Ging rides a massive beast on top of a massive beast. I believe the West Edition is a diary that contains Don's 300 years of journey to the Dark Continent. If it that the case that book must be extremely thick like a book version of Wikipedia or to put it more realistic a gigantic pile of written books. Also how did the East Edition ended up on a book shop/library shelve? Did one of the expedtion teams found it by coincidence or was it found by a Treasure Hunter?
My theory is that the V5 sponsored the book. They employed Don's family members to get script from him with promise to print them to the public.( That may explain why Mito Freecss is so keen on getting Gon to pass some govt exam.)This is the actual family business. Finding them in book shop mean they keep their part of the deal.
As soon as the Dark continent was introduced, I can't help but imagine Hunter x Hunter as the prequel to One Piece and all the Devil fruit is just Nen ability materialized as fruit. XD
I don't think the size of the monsters on the Dark Continent map are their true size, like how certain landmarks on old maps were made large just to easily see where they were located. A continent sized sea creature or land creature although possible to exist would be kind of ridiculous imo
I do wonder if Ai has the ability to grant wishes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wish Granting ability is Alluka’s but the condition to activate the power is when Ai/Nanika take over. The power to crush the victim could be either a consequence of the wish or is the Ai species main ability. It would make sense for how Killua is able to circumvent a lot of Nanika’s rules.
Theory: the only safe passage is a portal directly to the mysterious figures furthest back, assuming the preview of scale of Lake Mobius and everything else is even an accurate representation or accurate scale.

After watching this video, i have a strong feeling that togashi has 2 options those are end the series just like yuyu hakusho or make the series just like one piece, with the difference is the time release
The Dark Continent arc has, in my opinion, the potential to be the best manga arc of all time. Luckily, the author of the manga is Togashi. He, of all people can pull it off. I do also believe that he is not sure which route to take regarding this matter, and is taking hiatuses because he is still contemplating how to write it. Just think of the possibillities, the versatility, the sheer potential.
His hiatuses are cuz of his health, He already has 3 possible endings down, but will likely never complete the series. I dont understand what you mean by Togashi being the only person who can pull it off when, if anything, he is probably one of the least likely authors to pull due to his health concerns. Most people do not expect HxH to finish by the time of his death.
@@digiomegamon My comment was not concerning the ending of HxH, but the potential of the DC arc (and, with it, the Succession war arc). To be honest, I never even thought about the ending. The DC is intriguing enough on its own, and I am very interested in Togashi's approach to it. I though it was fairly obvious what I meant by saying that Togashi is the only one who can pull it off. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented mangaka of his generation, if not the most talented. Therefore he has the tools to pull it off.
i thought that we were told netero was a little over 100 years old and that when wing was explaining nen he said that it could even be used to reverse the effects of aging.
Succession arc is likely the end for kurapika's goal where he finally get all the eyes and get revenge and leorio probably helps too just like killua help gon find ging, but then what about the dark continent if all 4 main characters already achieved their goals, the dark continent doesn't have a personal stake for any main characters anymore, and if the series goes there it probably switch into ging's pov as the main char, but so far dark continent doesn't really have a main goal story wise
@@KayneWest-qt4un with how things are so far, leorio's role probably is to support kurapika in my opinion, and he so far doesn't have the makings to be the lead on dark continent, ofc the author could do anything give personal stake or a power up, we'll have to see
I also wanna mention that these are the ratings of threats... that we know of. Togashi had previously delivered a plot twist where the peak of danger was the bottom 1% of potential threats before (in YYH where we find put that while Toguro was one of the most dangerous in the human world, he was one of the weakest compared, like 0.5%, to the true potential for demons) and I wouldn't be suprised if the same thing happens here where anything A+rank is in the weakest and least dangerous of the total, unknowable potential dangers.
Hopefully he doesn't go overboard on the size of the dark continent and it's just for dramatic effect. The unknown being much larger than when it's known.
Togashi really said "yeah ima just make the best shonen/manga wolrd and not elaborate" Im such a sucker for the mobis lake type of reveals. SPOILERS FOR CERTAIN MANGA AND ANIME BELOW The best ones that come to mind are Claymore, Toriko, and HxH. Claymore out of all of them moreso JUST reveals it with little to no intention of following it up which was fine for me. It was just dressing for the lore, the impact didnt shake the current story which again was fine for me , it answered the questions it needed and then that plot point left. Toriko almost does the exact 180 of Claymore. Relatively early on we're shown the "gourmet world" and are shown as well that our protagonist truly isnt ready for the end game level. And even when we do arrive there, while the early portions of the gourmet world we're hard as they were the first time, the 8 Kings of the islands are unmatched in their power (of course i say this knowing most were killed by Acacisa, and couldn't hold a candle to God power up Toriko.)
And thats on the surface, imagine things that might occur on the space. Or diffrent alien worlds that might abhor some other horrors that the writer will reveal slowly as cliffhangers
everytime I hear about cities I think that nen is just a vestigial verison of a power humans used to have to servive on the dark continent like humans could just do *anything* but because most or some humans moved to a safer place where they didnt need it as much its power weakened so much so that they forgot it and the energy got locked away.

My theory on the Metallion incident, Beyond ran into something powerful and, like his father, ran to fight it got the expedition team caught in the cross hairs and had to leave because he lost too many members. Unlike his dad, however, he may have enjoyed the fight more than anything else in the known world and that's why he's trying go back to the Dark Continent
kinda sad, that i don't think we will ever get ending of hxh.
I am obsessed with this channel now
The most underrated channel in all of RUclips 🔥🔥🤩🤩
Subscribed, because of you are a direct to the point content creator!
The Dark Continent is so fascinating.
Top notch info vid 👌
One of the greatest videos ive seen simple but extremely good
Well done
Wow i thought HXH is just about hunters but it seems it has a dark fantasy kind of vibe too
The Chimera Ant's being ranked lower than the 5 Threats makes sense. The only reason they got as dangerous as they did is because NGL was the perfect place for them
Finally some HxH content. I have a question. Will you make every nen user explained?
got one cooking already! 🤫
nice vid, direct to the point with all the important details packed together
Would sending drones to the dark continent piss off the watchers? It just seems like a better way to begin exploring.
They simply can’t reach it. The shear Ferocity of the weather would make it impossible. And the distance/battery life also is another challenge
@@girthydumpsterfire6920 makes sense but I feel there might be a work around. Just speculation tho
extreme weather and distance
@@girthydumpsterfire6920 well nen drone ability would work. And get someone that have ability to enhance other abilities.
@@jack.b1747 Imagine the amount of nen you would need to spend to send a drone over the distance of the entire world x10
And the drone has to survive all the unknown weather and creature dangers along the way
I like your story telling and narration, a good narrator could make any boring topic entertaining
14:00 Unmanned rock is basically a nuclear generator fuel, it's like a Uranium/Thorium
Did not expect a LMSH reference here lmao I love it
Those 3 survivors of the Ai incident actually were able to all post testing and go back to their daily lives. I'm pretty sure those 3 were Netero and his group.
It can be possible that maha zoldyck is a survivor of pap because maha zoldyck looks like a small squished doll
If killua use unmanned rock, could he be the god of thunder or his body can't handle it (?)
I love this!! I am sooo excited to see it all animated!!!
Hopefully Togashi can get to this instead of prolonging the seemingly unrelated Kakin succession arc.
I mean the current arc is a detour
The Kakin's arc is supposed to be final arc for Phantom Troupes and Kurapika i guess
@@TheWijasmara it is indeed a final arc for kurapika and the phantom troupr
no way, the kakin succession arc is peak hxh
Not in a million years would I want the Succession War arc to be rushed, even it means we would get to the Dark Continent faster
A real shame we’ll never see the dark continent, let alone the end of the current arc.
I like the theory that beyond has zobi but is such a beast with nen it doesn't effect him like it does others
That's actually not a bad theory at all
I really want to know what is up with that guy
Pap is basically the 10 tails putting people into the eternal tsukuyomi.
PAP reminds me of Kurama's ability on Yuyu Hakusho, the one he used on Little Taguro during Sensui Arc.
You forgot the most mysterious and most dangerous one, Hiatus.
Would love to see a HxH and Toriko crossover. The premise of the dark continent is literally the gourmet world.
*whole video talking about multiple intelligent, supernatural creatures: “obviously, this things that slightly look like buildings could have ONLY been done by humans”
I love the idea of these 5 big threats but but kinda feel like they are too op. Usually when there are characters that op in the story it always ends with some massive plot armor or plot holes to beat them. I hope they have good enough writing so they dont fuck up with how they beat those guys.
The big hole in the dark continent is the setting of the Anime made in abyss
yeah except it is massively bigger (it seems to be the size of multiple continents) and also surrounded by danger so you probably can't even settle around it lol
The abyss is in the middle of ocean tho, on a island
I believe the West Edition is a diary that contains Don's 300 years of journey to the Dark Continent. If it that the case that book must be extremely thick like a book version of Wikipedia or to put it more realistic a gigantic pile of written books. Also how did the East Edition ended up on a book shop/library shelve? Did one of the expedtion teams found it by coincidence or was it found by a Treasure Hunter?
Or don give tò them directly before do to a new expedition
the even crazier part is that the book only document the shores of lake mobius
My theory is that the V5 sponsored the book. They employed Don's family members to get script from him with promise to print them to the public.( That may explain why Mito Freecss is so keen on getting Gon to pass some govt exam.)This is the actual family business.
Finding them in book shop mean they keep their part of the deal.
Man the anime needs more episodes.
As soon as the Dark continent was introduced, I can't help but imagine Hunter x Hunter as the prequel to One Piece and all the Devil fruit is just Nen ability materialized as fruit. XD
If the author had better health, we would be 100's of chapters into the dark continent already 🙃
I literally am only starting this series for the Brion reveal. Easily the most haunting of the threats lol
I like how Hunter x Hunter is just anime equivalent of the SCP on the sideline💀
The HxH author is cookin up a storm, someone get this man some Nitro Rice fr.
Hopefully we get there by the time Togashi decides to go on hiatus again 🙏.
As I recall the world tree is also from the dark continents, as part of Ging's explanation of the continent to Gon.
Theory: the only safe passage is a portal directly to the mysterious figures furthest back, assuming the preview of scale of Lake Mobius and everything else is even an accurate representation or accurate scale.
"Herb for all illness"= just an ordinary plant with an highly efficient antibiotika and maybe a lot of good nutrition and vitamins and does whatever it is low vera does.. thus curing most ailmenta.
Thats my headcannon, cause i find the the idea that among al these supernatural treasures, one of them accomplish the feat by simply being mundane but just that good
those despictions are like giant species from One Piece. The map worries more, as the world doesnt seem round but flat. hahaha
Therefore he has the tools to pull it off.
so much real world inspirations
Wait a second... Netero got beat by a B level threat?
i thought that we were told netero was a little over 100 years old and that when wing was explaining nen he said that it could even be used to reverse the effects of aging.
Are we forgetting that leorio haven’t become a main character yet? He’s also going to the dark continent.
@@KayneWest-qt4un with how things are so far, leorio's role probably is to support kurapika in my opinion, and he so far doesn't have the makings to be the lead on dark continent, ofc the author could do anything give personal stake or a power up, we'll have to see
How the fuck has this guys channel not shown up in my feed before now? Algorithm is failing.
Dark Continent: high-risk, high-reward gamble
There is a theory that gons' father's rival who is chairman after netero is the victim of pap
The lore is so deep, interesting and mysterious, it's giving me goosebumps. But if the manga returns looking like a 3000-word essay, I'm out. 😂
Any chance the anime is going to be continued? An animated dark continent will surely break the internet
I stand with my believe, the Dark Continent is the Gourmet World from Toriko manga.
If they gave mereum the time to change and become more powerful they could use him as explorer solo to retrieve stuff fr
Wäre gut für eine was wäre wenn Theorie.
God I really hope HxH continues through the Dark Continent. There are so many possibilities...
Don't bother hoping it's not gonna happen
Togashi really said "yeah ima just make the best shonen/manga wolrd and not elaborate"
Im such a sucker for the mobis lake type of reveals.
SPOILERS FOR CERTAIN MANGA AND ANIME BELOW
The best ones that come to mind are Claymore, Toriko, and HxH.
And even when we do arrive there, while the early portions of the gourmet world we're hard as they were the first time, the 8 Kings of the islands are unmatched in their power (of course i say this knowing most were killed by Acacisa, and couldn't hold a candle to God power up Toriko.)
i wonder if the author read toriko gourmet world and went "uh, that shit looks cool, lets do something similar"
All those "threats" are near the shore.... Meaning the landing parties never got to face the real dangers inland
Make a video about the Every power system in all anime make it as an series
And thats on the surface, imagine things that might occur on the space. Or diffrent alien worlds that might abhor some other horrors that the writer will reveal slowly as cliffhangers
everytime I hear about cities I think that nen is just a vestigial verison of a power humans used to have to servive on the dark continent like humans could just do *anything* but because most or some humans moved to a safer place where they didnt need it as much its power weakened so much so that they forgot it and the energy got locked away.
Ahhhh this is an Attack on Titan type reveal but even scarier I want it nowwwwww ahhhhh!
If Don is living in the Dark Continent. He should be encountering lots of fights or the threats. Wouldn’t Don be the most strongest for living in the dark continent?.
Either he’s the most powerful, or the most unkillable
Or the most skilled at hiding. With an area so huge there should be some places that are safe for him to stay and hide
@mgeezylaslo7054 no matter how good you are at hiding you're still encountering potentially world-ending threats on a daily basis, and that man's been doing it for 300 years and journaling the whole entire thing!
Nice explanation bro
He's only reading the Hunterpedia from Fandom. It's not he's work.
@@DMXIII 🙄ok
@@DMXIIIwhere else do you expect him to get the info from? Togashi himself?
14:45 wtf is that at the bottom center right??!
Probably the eye of a predator or the eye of the dark continent himself, but we can't not known for sure right now
We don’t know what that is, it looks like a monster head being able to move on it’s own
Eye don’t know
I hope Togashi get well soon...
he is somewhat well and working on chapters... heis almost done with chapter 419 iirc, he will give us 20 chapters before he takes a break
@@idirbouchdoug1567 stop lying he has been in the same if not worse condition. The guy writes when he wants and takes as many breaks as he wants since he has so many loyal fans that will go right back to reading his work. Shueisha has no problem cutting off so many new mangaka works, but won't bother doing anything to Togashi.
@@mgeezylaslo7054 bro , the facts are right there and yet you still deny them.
Togadhi has not been this active since his pre Chimera ant days. He still has chronic back problems obviously but he has tweeted that he is getting treatments now to make it more bearable and even when he has the massive spikes in pain he can draw while lying down if he has to.
The man is in the best condition in a long time considering his age , stop being a doomer .
