Used to make bank selling stolen iPhones before that technology came out. You can still sell blacklisted iPhones they just can’t be used with service. Pretty much just heavy iPods at that point.

That is the most apple thing I've ever seen. Could've just been a simple reset button inside a pinhole like it has been for DECADES, but instead you've got to buy their proprietary part just to reset your own device lmao
Firstly this port was never meant to be used by consumers and was even removed in series 7.
Secondly, using a pinhole reset button will make it easy for thieves to reset and resell the watch. So stop acting smart cus u ain’t

@@markhylis9561 there’s no point in having a pinhole reset and probably uses some space in a tiny device where space is a premium. The watch rarely ever needs to be restored on its own. 9.5/10 times a person has the phone it’s paired to and you can reset the watch from the connected phone.
If for whatever reason you lost the phone it’s connected to, which I would think is a bigger problem than the watch, then you can just have the watch on the charger, hold a couple of buttons, and it’ll reset. If you are in a situation like this and Google “how to reset Apple Watch” or how to reset Apple Watch without phone” one of the top results is apples website which shows how to reset the watch in different scenarios like:
1. Have watch and phone
2. No phone but have watch
3. No phone have watch but don’t know passcode
Etc.
Or:
You can just do these built-in steps on Apple's support website when you Google this problem.
1. Put watch on charger, hold side button until the sliders appear.
2. Hold digital crown, press Reset.
3. Set up the watch like normal, from new or from an automatic backup.

I just love how Apple, in its infinite wisdom, keeps *removing* ports but you can always *BUY* the part they *removed* in order to use it like you *should* to *begin* with!!!
literally no reason why the apple watch couldn't be charged with contacts (yes, exactly like the hidden port - just like charging a fitbit). this would also reduce thickness of those chunky boys (the wireless charging coil significantly adds to the depth), increase charging speed because wireless charging sucks, increase the lifespan of the battery because wireless charging heats up devices and sucks and would allow for a bigger battery
Tbf i would rather them not add a lighting port on my watch. It just doesn’t make any sense.

charges quicker, doesn't get as hot, way more free internal space - more features or thinner design, less expensive and doesn't have janky magnets
Edit: I figure you were talking about for data transfer purposes (like in the video), contact pins work for that too

Actually if you hold the crown down while in the power off menu you can reset it directly from the Watch
I have just done this yesterday for the same issue. No need to go through all this hassle
He right you hold down the power button until you see the slight to power off then you hold down the crown and a message will appear saying to erase the watch super simple.

The actual problem with that message is that even if you have the setting turned off, where it’ll reset the watch after too many passcode attempts, it’ll force you to reset it anyway. Can’t tell you how many time I had to put my watch in my pocket at work and I pulled it out and it needed to be reset. Sometimes it only took about an hour or less
Alright, sounds annoying and all - but _why_ would you ever put your watch into your pocket? Isn’t the…whole point? Of a watch? That it’s on your arm at all times?
It’s waterproof, extremely sturdy, battery lasts two full days on a charge, it has a strap to hold itself in place. Also its singular advantage over a phone is that it’s strapped to your arm rather than going in your pocket. What possible reason could you have for keeping it in your pocket, ever, let alone often enough that you’ve needed to reset it multiple times?
@sparky6757 I work in construction. I've scratched and cracked a couple of apple watches at work. So when I know I'm gonna be working hard like that, I just put it in my pocket. Or some jobs in the refineries, you're not supposed to have cellular watches. Usually no one cares but a couple of asshole supervisors do so when you're around them you'll just throw the watch in your pocket.

And what’s your solution? To put a USB-C port on a watch that would take up half of its internal space? There’s a reason all smartwatches use magnetic charging.
You’d only need to do this if you’ve stolen the watch.

Go to your watch app and delete the watch from your phone and it automatically resets and then just connect again I done the same thing to my watch one time
(I realized while typing this I didn’t lock my watch I just forgot my password and didn’t wanna risk locking the watch)

They got rid of it on the series 7, I think from then on your able to reset it with just the charger because of a wireless data chip introduced, not for certain though on that last part

Put it on charge and depending on the generation, hold either the Digital Crown or the side button to bring up the power off screen with the erase button.
You attach it into a charger then hold the power off button. When the power off slider comes up hold both the crown and the side button for 5 seconds and you get the option to erase and content and settings. Therefore restoring it without having to purchase anything……..
You dont actually need to do this. If you have back-up of your Apple Watch, you can just reset it through the Watch app on your iPhone and re-pair it. It will prompt you to restore from a pervious backup and boom there ya go

All you do is hold the power button, once you see the power off, emergency, and medical id screen, you press on the screen and it shows up the option to reset.

Bro I can tell an easier way to reset the password of apple watch just follow these steps:
1.Connect the apple watch charger.
2.Press and hold the power button until you see power off menu.
3.Then press and hold the digital crown until you see 'Erase all content settings'.

Apple has white sleds for these where you don’t need to remove the cap to connect to iTunes. Mainly used to DFU and program floor model watches

This has happened to my gfs watch but you can easily just factory reset it by holding down the crown. After it resets you can just pick its previous saved profile

I did try using the charger of the Apple Watch and connect it to a USB-C Port on my MacBook Air, I opened Apple Configurator (Downloadable on App Store), and turns out you can configure your Apple Watch, it worked for me though!

Theres also an option on the watch itself on that reset screen i think if you force touch on it. Had to do it on my s0 apple watch one time.
Those accessories to put in dfu mode costs more than that older model Apple no longer supports 🤷🏻♂️

Honestly, this seems like too much work when you can just reset it, you’ll have to wait a bit, but it will just be done in like 30 minutes
You can also just plug it into your computer with the charger that comes with the watch. Open up iTunes or finder on Mac and you can reset it that way.
Either it was a bug not patched or apple did this purposely so that people come to their store and get charged alot for just resetting their watch. Glad this secret port was found

There is another way using the watch app on your iPhone if u have a recent backup
The S7 and newer dont actually have this port, they use a 60GHz wireless link instead, so this method won't work on those
