Best interview l have seen of a foreign president in America since l can't remember when. Intelligent journalist, pithy questions and the very thoughtful, competent and impressive representative of France. Vive la France. Vive la République.
Unfortunately Macron was overly coached and shared nothing except his pathetic response to Putin, hate if Trump, and crying over Bidens policies that hurt his economy.
@@rack9458 Hilarious... Did you happen to catch the celebration at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier a few days ago.... Where President Macron had to be bidens handler during the event??? Guess not... the entire World knows what an ABSOLUTE JOKE this ADMINISTRATION is!!! And YES, jb's decisions are negatively affecting the World! Who, may I ask, Do you think is RESPONSIBLE for the current state of affairs in AMERICA???
Thought Macron would get confused by "desynced" until he replied with "desynchonization". His English is pretty great, and his accent is smooth and easy to understand.
I honestly also thought the interviewer may have confused Macron into thinking he said "re-think" rather than "re-sync", but apparently he understood it without any problems. He's really getting good at english
Speaking English a second language Pres. Macron is way more articulate than most American politicians. He doesn't sidestep questions infantilize the audience. Hope some of our Dem and Reps were watching this.
E. M. is a Rothschild banker and recruit /puppet of Herr Klaus Schwab (world economic forum and young global leaders). He was selected, not elected. One can be articulate and have good looks and still be a criminal . He destroyed our electric program, sold Alstom, etc poor choices and we are now ruined.
Well maybe in this particular interview he doesn't infantilize the audience and you may assume it's generally the case. But trust me as a French citizen, he does it each time...
I'm honestly surprised that a French president speaks English in an interview and even very decently. Never heard that before personally (and neither from German politicians).
Macron has been an investment banker before, so guess he needs to be able to speak it. There are also German leaders (e.g., Guttenberg) who speak decent English
Wtf are you talking about? Besides Macron, several political heads in Europe speak pretty decent English. Moreover a significant number of people in Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Portugal speak English at a fluency that is only given away by their accent.
The current chancellor speaks English. Germany’s chancellors in the 70s, Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt spoke it very well. Schmidt himself sounded like a native, even in his mid 90s he was still reading English newspapers.
Here's German chancellor Olaf Scholz speaking English as well: ruclips.net/video/1a1JWvLfEZU/видео.html There are many more English interviews like this.
Yet if France was attacked he’d be the first to cry if USA doesn’t help and if the USA was attacked they’d laugh because that country that’s attacking would be commuting suicide France ain’t built like that they’re soft like their citizens
If you have a president like Trump, everything can be direct, and Europe was in no danger. All Trump asked was pay your fair share to NATO. They didn't like that kind of common sense directness didn't they. So look at them now, having to deal with a communist US Federal government.
@@der0ng Here lies the dilemma. The constitution let the States decide their own election laws Now we have rogue States governments that defraud the election. There is a way to fix this problem without violating the constitution. The founders did foresee this problem of rogue States; therefore in the original constitution, the federal gov did not have too much power. We can go back to that version, then who cares if the federal gov is run by a demented dude and his handlers. There was not even federal income tax in the original constitution.
People often think about the french finacial aid, but don't know that 90% of the gunpowder was provided by the french, that both the french navy and the french army on the US front alone were larger than the continental army, and France joining turned an embarrasment for the UK into a world war, with fights in europe, africa, south asia... It is indeed hard to imagine how the continental army could have won alone.
@@Celticowl4136 after centuries of war, the English and French celebrated their reconciliation by going to fight together... Russia! In Crimea, 1854-55. A year spent in the trenches facing a Russian artillery three times superior, besieging 35,000 Russian soldiers entrenched in Sevastopol. For the anecdote, the Russian Empire launched on the allied armies 4 regiments of Ukrainian Cossack cavalrymen. In 1855, Russia signed the surrender.

One hopes you are using your perspicacity for more than idle--and inaccurate--speculation. In the meantime, you should use it to verify your grammar. just a slight dodge, think it's important to see that both France and the States have a many shared goals when it comes to geopolitics, and that's where at least half of the convergence lies also
The honesty he has and the way he speaks even when it's a second language to him, it's just great to watch, I've never seen an interview of him before, and i'm glad i did now, seems like a good president and someone knows what he's doing.
Just one example : he came from the Left, then betrayed the Left just before the 2017 elections and lead now a total Right-sided policy. A lot of French don't like him.
@@emerywills5814 Can't tell that just through this interview.many people seem eloquent, but then when engaging on a conversational level, involving instruction, you find them less capable
I am not French. I don't know what the French citizens think of President Macron or his policies. But I do like how honest and direct he is. He didn't skirt any questions. I'm shocked he made time for this interview.
I am French bro, Macron might seems like an honest guy but he keeps contradicting himself, for exemple he (mostly through his government) told that masks were useless at the starts of the pandemic (which obviously/hopefully you know ain’t true),then told the opposite, he also told at the 2017 elections that any officials would have to step down from their responsibility if investigated by justice, however, I can recall at least 3 people (Alexis kholer,Eric Dupont Moretti and Gerald Darmanin) who got (and still are)in trouble with justice, and still are working for the government. Though there is obviously some more that I don’t know about. Plus Emanuel Macron is also being investigated himself for illegal financing of his 2017 and 2022 campaigns. He is also kinda fainting democracy through « citizen conventions » that makes propositions for futur laws and reforms, except that he only agrees on the ones he was already ok with applying, and washes off all of the impactful stuff (if that makes sense) from the one’s he isn’t fully fan off. So conclusion: no da best brother, and not that honest neither.
If you watch a favourable interview of anyone you'll like them 1000x more than before. If you watch an interview with Hitler where they ask him about what he will do for poverty, you'd have a better view of him. Doesn't make him a good person. This is the same thing, different person (and different in scale, obviously). An interview where he is asked easy questions like "was your meeting a success" will of course score points with any viewer.
A level headed leader is not something to take for granted…these days it sometimes feels everyone is throwing rocks in a glass house, no one is civil anymore.
Articulate, brilliant, eloquent, charismatic, simple and at the same time classic, Peace loving, a good negotiator, an ally when needed. This is one of Europe's youngest leaders. Good luck, President Macron. Vive La France. Felicitations.
Is it possible to imagine, that French language is prohibited on someone's whim in the Canada, and only English is proclaimed as the compulsory one. Sure, it's impossible! Canada is a bilingual country: "both English and French are recognized as official languages and granted equal status by the Canadian government. The federal government provides services and operates in both languages". "Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms" requires all provinces and territories to provide primary and secondary education to their official-language minorities" "Minsk agreements" signed by Ukraine, stipulated the means and measures, providing "rights and freedoms" for ethnic Russians in Ukraine, on their historical land, developed by their ancestors long before the Independent State of Ukraine emerged in 1991 Ukraine signed Minsk Agreement, but refused to implement it. Instead Ukraine promised the filtration camps in Donbass and bombarded it. 16 thousands residents of Donbass, including children perished, gone, within previous 8 years - the victims of everyday shellings and terrorist attacks of Ukraine. "Today’s neo-Banderite battalions, fueled by manic hatred of anything “Russian,” got the lion’s share of military aid from.........the the world's Democracies. That bolstered them for future attacks on Donbas and then ultimately on Russia."

reflecting on the history, it's quite uncanny to see the interviewer brought up, as an introduction, the history of u.s and france on the american independence from uk, to stress how close u.s and france have long been. the interesting fact is that after u.s achieved its independence with much as financial and military support as possible the french could provide, it started going back to trade enormously with uk, ruling out france pretty much as a trade partner, which is now believed to be a trigger that led all way up to the french revolution and the execution of louis 16th and his wife, marie.
The revolutions were freemasonic and oligarchs who craved power and control. They destroyed Christian Monarchies. They are the secret societies Kennedy warned us about.

Macrons peace agreements are a silly notion, Putin doesn’t care about diplomacy, if he did he wouldn’t have invaded Crimea, Georgia and Chechnya. Putin sees himself as the restorer of Russia and will not negotiate till he feels he has won something. What does this say for other would be conquerers, that it’s ok to conquer your neighbors as long as you have nukes and have a large military? Any gains for Putin would set a dangerous precedent for those who are not protected by the nato umbrella.

Macron has his issues but he is definitely a brilliant man. Can you imagine any of our politicians giving such a thoughtful interview in English much less in French!!
Here in france our leaders are usually part of the elite. Most are educated in our best schools (which contrary to US university have their entrance purely merit based), and Macron like most of them has an extremely solid education, he went to SciencePo (political science formation), then wen to the university for a master in philosophy, then went to the ENA (the absolute elite when it comes to political science and state managment), where he ended up 5th best of the class. He was also a successfull businessman (he made millions mediating the fusion between two multinaitonal companies), economic advisor to a former president, has hobbies like playing piano (he got 3rd place at the conservatory of Amiens) etc...
I’ve only heard bad things about him. The Italian prime minister talked about how he exploits African countries and is why Europe is getting mass immigration problems
What many fail to see is how important it is to have a 5th country like France with a more moderate approach to discussing issues that are points of contention between adversaries and to some degree, amongst allies within NATO. Although France is firmly on the side of the Western block--unlike the UK, it has pursued a more nuanced and pragmatic approach to dealing with issues concerning Russia and China as evident of the French President's attempt to maintain normal relations and serve as mediator between the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. France is easily overlooked in today's world and is often seen as a second rate power in terms of it's economic, political, and military influence; but despite it's shortcomings it continues to play an important role in international affairs that no other country, emerging or otherwise can replicate and certainly supplant.
If Macron were the President of the EU, I think he would make the EU into a true Superpower. At present, it is a "United Europe of States", rather than a "United States of Europe", as former French President Francois Mitterrand once described it.
Where is the discussion of Russian security interests? They agreed that Russia has caused the prices of food and energy to soar, but what about the NATO sanctions on Russia impacting their food and energy!

I don't think any American policy maker thinks as deeply about structural issues as the French president or Europeans in general. In America money-profit and elections drive policy.
But whose fault is that, really? @@Antonio-wh3oq It’s not exactly a “free-ride” as you put it. USA very much worked hard to make it that way cause it’s in their interest. Being able to have that much influence on trade and militarily is a position only the US have been in during the span of the world history. After WW2 the US came out on top as the worlds undisputed military and economic power. The americans basically said: Go out in the world and do free trade and we will protect everyone’s ships and to a large degree interests (except for the stalinists). All of war-torn Europe came to realise that they could rely on the US with foreign affairs, meaning protecting the free world and trade. Then Trump came along and sowed doubt in this relationship out of nowhere despite the extremely favorable position the US have been in for almost the entire last century. Just a perspective from a Dane, a country with close ties to the US.
@@FreyrDK Not to mention that the US only intervened in WW2 when it would be favorable for them in the long run, contrary to the English who lost A LOT more but acted much sooner... American security is impacted by what happens in Europe. Some of us in the US were holding our collective breath during the last French presidential election.
It's clear from the beginning that US is the clear winner in this conflict, that's why it's in their interest to keep it, shall I say "slowly cooking" until their political and economical gains are met. Brutal but real.
@@newmoon1448 Look, I'm a Europen and I wish that Ukraine wins their independence, peace, freedom and dignity that undoubtedly they do deserve. Thanks for mentioning the shameful behaviour of the "old union's" leaders amidst the beginning of the conflict. But, allow me to delve deeper into the subject as without putting things into perspective we may be perceived as falling into uncomfortable bias. Disclaimer: this is my view, but it's based on the inteligence assessments made by other, more informed people. For years US has been a central element of Europe's security infrastructure and was willing to remain so for the foreseeable future. But, it was extremely disappointed with how Europe handles Russian threat. Germany with how it conducts business above the heads of other eastern partners, ignoring the cost of their security, security of the most vulnerable parts of the western world. How UK ignored and swept under the rug all of the espionage and murders on their soil. French with their inept politics and deliberate incapability to influence Germany to brace themselves for impact. It was all, depressing to watch from across the ocean. The reason why all of this was happening is beacuse those countries, each to their own extent were corrupted by Russian resources, money, oil and gas, and cheap precious metals. Whilst Americans had to prepare for the inevitable conflict with China, they knew that the principles that they were spending billions on protecting on the old continent are being undermined by the very detail that is to be protected. It was like trying to swim in a pool filled with sulphuric acid. Americans knew that all of this was happening because teflon Putin made the old Europe an offer they had to consider. He wanted to make more lucrative business with them, and we all know how EU needs growth opportunities and cheap energy, but under condition that they will replace US as the component of the European security architecture. With the exception of UK, which has struggled with their own identity, yet silently prepared Ukrainians to another fight. The other European countries (with few obvious exceptions) didn't seem to really care what's going to happen to Ukraine after 2014, making money was more important. Now, that's the background. When enough information was aquaired to determine that Russian army in reality doesn't have enough oomph to push their political agenda beyond the propaganda of undefeated army things were put in motion. We have watched how this conflict unfolded, how westerners ties with Russia were exposed and then severed, and how much Russia is reliant on China. Now, when Putins plan to secure his win and earn Russia a place back on the table was destroyed we know that that this is a big win to the US. Because: -Russia will be defeated with non american blood, Ukraine will win their independence sooner or later, but rather later, untill Russia completely bleeds out and Putin is removed, -it's a blow to Chinese view of the world and how it can use it's proxies (a function to which Russia will be reduced), -Europe will pay the price that they owe to the US for the safety that was provided, and for the 16 years of Merkel's ignorance, -other quasi totalitarian states around the world are getting message, if Russia can be defeated like then it's better to start shifting our politics, example: Kazachstan. If all of the above was predictable, and if I am a good observer think about what was known to the ones that knew, this couldn't be an opportunity that US could miss. As tragic and as distopian it may seem this is the reality of the situation. Americans will ensure that Ukraine wins on acceptable terms, by bleeding Russians out of money, will, ammunition and most notably support from external factors. That's the long term goal, because in this context there cannot be any other.
@@turmoilstabilizer9054 Not all Americans think this way. Put Trump and his band of maggats back in and see that support disappear. They’ll sell Europe and Ukraine out on the promise of eliminating the LGBTQ crowd or other various lies. We’re in a battle against that here at home.
@@willaimoconnell9430 @willaimoconnell9430 That's a part of my point. Didn't thought I would need to mention it, but the risk of going nuclear from one of the parties was always embedded into a possibility of a conflict in this part of the world. This is why US is doing what they are doing, they walk the really stressful fine line of ensuring that Ukraine wins, but with very selective escalation not to trigger...the obvious. In the long response to my previous: unfortunately, to all of us "brutal and cynical" is the name of the game that is being played.

We learn French in the UK and English in France
Excellent language skills. Considering most Americans can't hardly speak their own language.

Speaking English a second language Pres. Macron is way more articulate than most American politicians. He doesn't sidestep questions infantilize the audience. Hope some of our Dem and Reps were watching this.

@@antonmoulard Je me fiche de son intention. Le fait est qu'il est dix fois plus éloquent en anglais que presque tous les politiciens américains
Schmidt himself sounded like a native, even in his mid 90s he was still reading English newspapers.
huh?
Here's German chancellor Olaf Scholz speaking English as well: ruclips.net/video/1a1JWvLfEZU/видео.html

He is very honest and addresses the USA directly. Very few people do that with the USA
Yet if France was attacked he’d be the first to cry if USA doesn’t help and if the USA was attacked they’d laugh because that country that’s attacking would be commuting suicide France ain’t built like that they’re soft like their citizens
The Taliban and Iranians are very honest and direct in addressing the USA too. 🤣
If you have a president like Trump, everything can be direct, and Europe was in no danger. All Trump asked was pay your fair share to NATO. They didn't like that kind of common sense directness didn't they. So look at them now, having to deal with a communist US Federal government.
@@tomsd8656 Exactly, we should get rid of the constitution just like what Trump say it is a special situation.
Without France, the US would have had a whole lot harder and rougher times defeating the English during colonial times.
@@channingshores45 America is a continent not just one single country. It cannot be all that hard to say the US instead.
Agreed. We English have our differences with the French but they always have our respect, and it is fatal to underestimate them 🍷

@@holyromankingdomofthepoles7027Lmao you’re not French so how would you know ? If only Mr. Macron had similar attitude of national interest towards former French colonies that are now “independent” countries, but are still being financial exploited by France
GREAT point.
Populist non sense. Stop spreading BS please.
@@MN-vz8qm what about what I said is “bs.”
@@omowhanre you are speaking as if we were living in 1960.
France isn't even anymore in the top3, often not even top5, of the trade partners of its former colonies. The big players in africa are russia, canada or china nowadays.
What is remaining is cumbersome old treaties, and France does what it can, year after year, to untie itself from africa.
This continent has always been a net cost to france, colonial time included.
@@MN-vz8qm That’s what France would like you to belive. Just like Britain has “the Commonwealth,” France has “La Francophonie.” Why is it that Mail and Senegal are NOT ALLOWED to change their currency or official language? “La Francophonie” dictates that colonial history is NOT ALLOWED to be taught within said “ex”- colonies. The results of disobedience have resulted in leaders who push true independence being killed or removed politically. The financial benefits to France are in the trillions. STOP IT. It’s ok not to know, but it’s not ok to discount the truth.
Great interview. Thank you for your support of Ukraine, Mr President!
This man really knows how to appreciate himself 👌
Joking aside he is french so of course he has style and sophistication... and a pretty good president too 👌👌

Rishi Sunak gives Macron some competition in the best dressed category. I don’t have anything else to say about Rishi. He dresses nice. That’s about it.

We didn't vote for him because he's good, we only voted for him to avoid having a far-right candidate in charge.
@@moustarboygamingandreplay4340 In my experience, having lived and worked in France and then following them closely since the mid-80's, the French hate every president they have, and pretty much every politician, and indeed love to complain about a whole host of issues. Which recent president was the best, would you say?
I don't think any American policy maker thinks as deeply about structural issues as the French president or Europeans in general. In America money-profit and elections drive policy.
He's exactly right! @ 7:23, what goes on in his country should not be all that affected by our presidential elections.
But whose fault is that, really? If the argument is that France’s security shouldn’t be dependent on US presidential elections I agree, but the fact that much of Europe (including France until Macron, who appears to want to correct that) has chosen freeride under the US security umbrella is not America’s fault.

The implication of the US in WW2 really needs a rewrite in history books. They knew about the camps and what happened in them, they went along with the antisemitic changes the nazis imposed on their movies and whatnot. They only acted under conditions that would give them the advantage for a century if not more.
Amazing well spoken person great job

In these times it is crucial for trans-Atlantic alliances to stand strong in good faith, and serve mutual benefit.
There are headwinds now, but the true storm is still coming.
Agreed. 5 years ago I supported Brexit (but did not vote) and I am filled with regret. I hope Britain sees the light and returns to the fold, this time properly by joining the Euro too. It pains me deeply the rift Brexit has caused between our Irish brothers and of course our dear European cousins. Strength in unity ✊
We’ve survived worse storms and we’ll survive this one too.
Yeah no thanks. As a American I prefer being in no alliances. Only unlimited non aggression pacts. I'll never defend another nation. I'm strongly against helping Ukraine in any capacity.

Because:
-Russia will be defeated with non american blood, Ukraine will win their independence sooner or later, but rather later, untill Russia completely bleeds out and Putin is removed,
-it's a blow to Chinese view of the world and how it can use it's proxies (a function to which Russia will be reduced),
-Europe will pay the price that they owe to the US for the safety that was provided, and for the 16 years of Merkel's ignorance,
-other quasi totalitarian states around the world are getting message, if Russia can be defeated like then it's better to start shifting our politics, example: Kazachstan.
I liked the post and thinking but I think the slow boil is more due to risk adversity ( nuclear) and supply realities
@@turmoilstabilizer9054 Perhaps they need to destroy Ukraine and let Russia win, so they can keep it under the sanctions, isn't that the US game?
