- Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue discusses the “creepy” 24-year age difference between French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.
Brigitte was married with three children at 40 years old when she first met Emmanuel in high school, where she was a teacher.
She divorced her husband in 2006 and went on to marry Mr Macron in 2007.
“We know what would happen if the roles were reversed, or more accurately if the genders were reversed,”

Wrong, it has always been accepted socially for a big age difference where the woman was younger. As long as she’s of legal age. This comes from the ancient practice of girls being married shortly after they begin menstruation to get as many breeding years out of her as possible due to the high rate of mother mortality. If a teacher is "romantically" involved with a person who is still a teacher's student, no matter the teacher's or student's age, that is not something that is a good idea.
However, if they meet later and feel a connection, as long as they are both at or above the age of consent, then that is their business.

It's not the age gap, it's the fact that he was only 15, plus she was in a position of authority over him. I had to laugh at the photo as he looked exactly the same as he does now, at age 15! Even stranger is, how openly amorous they were in front of his friends during his teenage years! He's hanging out with other teens and kissing her passionately in front of them. Also she was his mentor and basically coached him into becoming President and set out a life path for him (study economics, enter politics, become economics minister, then President). You also have to remember that the French still vehemently protect Roman Polanski and his "relationship" with a 13 year old. That woman has now revealed more and it was worse than what came out in the past. She was pressured into silence and the sex was quite brutal.

Here we have so many older male teachers who marry their 17 year old students who then graduate and most of them then become teachers. You will find these couples working together in schools as Mr and Mrs ...
