Growing up in the 80s in Phoenix, Bill and Teds was always talked about among me and my friends. Especially because we always hung out at these places. Especially Metro Center Mall. At least until the late 90s when it had been remodeled and started it’s decline. It’s being torn down soon but they did do a Bill and Teds viewing in May to honor the movie and how important that mall was to a generation. Just a little side story: A good friend of mine was at Blockbuster Video in the late 80s. She was about 8 or 9 at the time and looking for something on the shelves when a man standing next to her told her “you should rent this one, my friend is in it”. The movie he was pointing to was The Lost Boys and it was Keanu Reeves talking to her. It was clearly while they were here filming Bill & Teds.
I used to live close to that circle K and didn’t know about it until I lived here for like a year. I used to take my out of town friends there. They didn’t care but I thought it was cool. Been to all the other spots too. Cool video! Keep it up
Kurt, you have outdone yourself yet again. I think I have a new video location I like now. Hope all is well with your family. Sorry, I've been so busy with work. I miss your live streams. I ll hope that I am there for the next time. Okay, Kurt, stay cool.
This walk down memory lane has been MOST TRIUMPHANT!! Thank you for sharing all these great locations with us. Too bad we couldn't get Eddie Van Halen...
Mr. 80's Life.... I watch a lot of filming location vides, but your series is the best. Your research is amazing, I don't know how you find such minute details, the before and after imagery is great for comparison to the viewer, you do a great combo of narration behind, and in front of the camera. The flow of the videos is good, you keep a good pace. I'm sure it's a ton of work editing these together, but the quality shows. It's obvious you want to put out a quality product, and you do. I just wanted to let you know your effort is appreciated. Thanks for the great entertainment.
i work 2 blocks away from 'Cornor Market'.. I knew long ago about the movie being done there. When circle K closed there they cleared the store out and had a movie showing inside of the store... they did a few showings.
Aww man! I literally live right across the street from that market!! It would've been insane to run into you there! Great video! I know all these locations!
Man, I was looking just a couple of weeks ago to see if you ever did an episode on this movie only to find out it was filmed in Arizona instead of the LA area. I thought it was likely you'd never do one in this case. Glad you did.
Now I really have to see the Bill n Ted movie. I Love your videos and edit style keep em coming! Just saw the daily woo do a video there at the corner market too! I Feel like i'm missing out on so much!
Absolutely fantastic Kurt, I enjoyed every single minute of your video. Crazy to see that so much has changed, but ya know that's the beauty of filming locations things change sometimes for the good and sometimes not, but amazing for nostalgia reasons. Looking forward to the next one 😊
I grew up in Los Angeles from 71 to 95, and every time I return, which is less and less as the years go by, it changes more and more. Yeah, in my old neighborhood, tons have changed, but here and there are a few signs of what used to be. Hell, I've been in Vegas since 95 to now, and this town has changed even more than I think Los Angeles has over the same period of time. Sadly, no one looks at these landmarks and thinks, hey, we should preserve this, as most just don't care. And that's OK, as it's life moving forward, and as much as we may care for the past, the great memories are what matters most(and those can never be taken away). Thanks for the great trip down memory lane.
Long time viewer of your channel, this is maybe your best video yet. I’m a similar age to you and Excellent Adventure had such a big impact on a young me! Amazing video, thank you
I was shocked when I accidentally came across this video! I don’t even know how you began to find these places! This movie has always been very close to my heart, it brings such nostalgia and emotion, and even though these places have been torn down, what a treat it is to see them. Thank you for doing that hard footwork for the rest of us! Awesome job.
I was at the last hurrah for Metrocenter after they finalized plans to demolish it. It’s so sad - Metro was where I grew up, as did a ton of other Phoenicians. It genuinely is sad to know it’ll be gone soon.
This is like going back in time to my childhood. I loved that movie and the Circle K was very close my house as a kid. I think I remember that they shut the street down when they were shooting. Fair Lanes bowling alley is where we used to bowl in those days and the waterpark was where we spent a lot of time during the summer. It's cool to be able to see these places as they looked back then. AZ has changed a lot since then as you point out in this video.
I adored Small Wonder growing up. I believe it was on NBC on Saturday nights during it's original run. I had a really big crush on Tiffany Brissette (VICI) who I attended school with at Mark Keppel elementary in Glendale, CA. My grandparents went to that very same Keiser you mentioned and I too drove by that building a million times not knowing that it was used in the show. Great video as always dude!!!!!!!!!!
I work at that location for about 2 years . I was young and worked as a stocker in that store. Back in 2001 🎉 good memories 👌🏽 I used to sit there during my breakfast ☕️
Great video, man you did a LOT of work... well done. As a Phoenix native for 50+ years, I can tell you that Phoenix has changed more than any other city I know. I grew up a couple miles (2-3) from Metrocenter in a house nearly identical to Ted's. It is eerie how similar the houses are and even the remodel/upgrades to the front of the house are the same... SO VERY STRANGE. I don't know Mesa nearly as well but can vouch for the demise of many Circle Ks and pooe ole Metrocenter where we used to cruise on so many Fri amd Sat nights. Last tidbit is... the original foodcourt at Metro was designed to be an airport and even had a bar designed with an actual airplane motif... it was VERY cool in it's day, as was the ice rink. Thanks again!!!
I posted a video of the Kleinman Park location in 2019, it is down the street from my house. it only had 43 views in 4 years, granted I'm not a video location channel. I reposted my short clip this morning. I was hoping that Adam the Woo would see the clip and maybe want to meat me at the park.... O'well that is 4 years of waiting down the drain :) :) :) Your video showed up as a suggestion via RUclips.
I used to buy beer at *the* Circle K when I lived in Tempe. Before it closed they had a screening of B&T in the parking lot. It’s crazy how much different Old Town Scottsdale is now compared to then. When Napoleon is at the top of the waterslide, you can see the then-new Superstition Freeway in the background. Again, it looks quaint compared to now. MetroCenter was long dead before it actually closed. The one that disappoints me the most is Coronado High School. It’s too bad they couldn’t keep the rooftops, it was so distinctive looking.
Curt, I really enjoy your videos and the research you share. Hate to call out minor mistakes but your not in the correct spot at Coronado High. At 19:30 that house is seven houses down to the west. I noticed in your vidoe on Just one of the guys that you were to the east of the shots we see in the movie. If you look at Google Earth Pro you can see historical phots and go back before 2005 and it will become clear as to where the entrance to the school was.
I used to live in San Dimas, CA about 15 years ago. I could swear that the Sheriff Station there was the one from the film; I know the sign was the same at least back then.

A most triumphant episode.
Most excellent work Kurt! SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!
If you only had a phone booth to go back in time to film before the locations were all torn down...... Great video!
I used to live close to that circle K and didn’t know about it until I lived here for like a year. I used to take my out of town friends there. They didn’t care but I thought it was cool. Been to all the other spots too. Cool video! Keep it up
Even with most everything being gone, Kurt still scrapes together quite a bit to show. Awesome to see some these areas still looking pretty similar.
Man, love them 80s!!
When everything was cheap to buy
Some call it progress
Me? I call it sacrilege.
Thanks for your efforts on this video dude
"Progress" has always been an illusion that has never existed.
This was the most Excellent movie locations video 👍😎
The fact that most of these locations are now gone is really Bogus👎😭
Party on Dudes 🥳🥳🥳👉💯
Kurt, you have outdone yourself yet again. I think I have a new video location I like now. Hope all is well with your family. Sorry, I've been so busy with work. I miss your live streams. I ll hope that I am there for the next time. Okay, Kurt, stay cool.
Coronado High School can also be seen in Just One Of The Guys which Curt has also done a filming locations video for
Pretty cool video. Sad that many locations are gone. Cool interview with Dianne Franklin too!
This walk down memory lane has been MOST TRIUMPHANT!! Thank you for sharing all these great locations with us. Too bad we couldn't get Eddie Van Halen...
Perfect timing!!!! I just watched B and T the other day. Love it. Sad things are gone 💔 Great job with what is left!!! Thanks Kurt ☺️👍

Great job and research highly recommend this video very entertaining ❤👍🏿🙏🏿
Awesome movie! Keep up the amazing work kurt 📼 80s4life
you are the best the editing the research you put into it as well. thanks for your hard work!!
Great job brother! Impressive! Most impressive!
As someone who grew up in San Dimas, I’ve always been sort of sad that the entire film was shot outside of the city, lol.
Great work on the video!
Sandimashighschoolfootballrules!
Finally!!!! Been waiting for you to do this movie.
I love that you found the baseball field!!! Tell the wife I said awesome job!!! You guys succeeded where I failed.
Dude, great great research again (from you AND your wife). These videos are a treat to watch
Fantastic video really enjoyed it Kurt 😎🇬🇧🇺🇲

Wow, what a trip down memory lane. Sad so many aren’t the same. The mall seems especially sad to me for some reason…. Probably because it’s empty…
Yeah it's definitely sad seeing malls dying out.
i work 2 blocks away from 'Cornor Market'.. I knew long ago about the movie being done there. When circle K closed there they cleared the store out and had a movie showing inside of the store... they did a few showings.
Excellent stuff, Kurt! Great job.
I love these videos. Thank you for making them.

Your channel is amazing. Thanks for letting me go to nostalgia city with you. Keep doing what you do!!
I’ve never watched this movie but I have still enjoyed your video immensely. Fantastic work as always. Regards from Spain!

Excellent Kurt! More Phoenix/ Mesa/ Arizona movie locations!
Great video!! I’d love to see one on that cult movie classic Harley Davidson & the Marboro man filming locations
🔥 🤜 I appreciate you typing stuff in the description too
Another awesome video , thanks Kurt!!! :)

Live in Tempe. Visited all of these locations when the movie came out originally!
EXCELLENT!! Kurt, don't forget to do bogus journey
Loving this🇮🇪
Legendary Kurt, Kick-ass vid.
EXCELLENT!!!
Excellent!😊
Great video and a shame so many locations have changed/been demolished. I had a nice chuckle at your mispronouncing of Socrates, though 😅
Most excellent video 🤙
I lived in Arizona my entire life and never knew they filmed that movie here. I loved that movie growing up.

🤘😁👍
That corner market looks so well kept. It looks like the parking lot gets vacuumed, it’s so clean.
Take a shot every time Kurt says "it's been since torn down." lol...he's right, many do not exist no more. Sad. 😢
I Love Your Show , Fantastic Productions 👏 Ireland here 💚💚☘☘💚💚☘☘💚💚
Thank you so much!

I live in San Dimas California, and I always thought the movie was filmed here. Bummer.
The guy who played Napoleon was most excellent imo! I remember going to the theater with my parents and sister to see Bill & Ted. Good times!
Righteous video.
I love how they kept the storefront the same at the old Circle K
it just was sold last year, was circle k before that

One of my favorite movies
3 properties up from that house (1466 Amalfi Drive, Pacific Palisades), on the other side of the street, is the residence of one Steven Spielberg.
Phenomenal director like James cameron and Robert zemeckis
Excellent!!
Love it
You did a great job both finding the locations and hosting. Well done ! THANKS !
best movie of the 80's
I posted a video of the Kleinman Park location in 2019, it is down the street from my house. it only had 43 views in 4 years, granted I'm not a video location channel. I want to go on those slides SOOOOOOO BAD 🤩
I always thought that they used a Farrell's ice cream parlor for the Napoleon ice cream scene.

Hell yeah!
My sister took me to see this when I was 13 and it’s been one of my favorites ever since. Also Ford Fairlane.
I went to explore the mall one last time a few weeks ago.
You took your act on the road? Wow, I'm glad to see you're growing.
Thank you! Yep, trying to get out a little more. :)
