Video came out great bro thanks for stopping by my channel yesterday I was trying to find your channel glad you left a comment I just knew your name was Sean😁 nice meeting you can’t wait watch your channel 👀🍿✌🏽
I grew up in the Phoenix area mostly in Scottsdale Arizona. I graduated from Coronado high school in 1975. Watching the movie brought me back to those days and those images are almost identical to the ones I would have seen just a dozen or so years earlier. In fact toward the end of the movie the camera passes a classroom where I took latin in 1972. The mural they speak of At the school on the auditorium was designed by Joe Gatti who was my art teacher and also a crafts teacher at the school for many years during the 60s and 70s. Thank you for posting this it was really nice to see that again.
I appreciate the video you shared! It really took me back to my childhood days at Metro Center Mall. I have fond memories of playing a game with my siblings where we would only step on the brown tiles, avoiding the white ones. Ah, those were the good old days!
We live 2 hours away in Tucson, and have always wanted to do the Bill and Ted's filming locations trek. Thanks for taking us along through this video. At least we've been to the mall before. Time to hit up all the other spots.
Huge for doing it right so many do this wrong . I grew up in this mall. I was told that the garage was in a house in Arcadia. This was a huge deal when it was being filmed .
Thanks for cruising with Adam to Naugles and providing some more historical background to his vid. I suggested it to him in his comments and was glad to see he decided to go. I wasn't around during the days of Naugles, but my dad and uncle spoke highly of it and the Bun Taco (I had one, it was pretty bad, but the novelty of it was undeniable!). I'm happy that vid brought me to your channel, keep up the great work!
It's really sucks the mall is closing down it's apart of movie history and wish they keep it alive But awesome job showing us where the greatest movie ever was filmed this movie was my childhood and so can't wait for that new too come out soon.
Fun bit a trivia, We lived on Carson the street behind the bowling alley. When we moved into the house the bowling alley did not exist. We played on the slabs before they were titled to become the walls of the bowling alley. If you look at the wall behind Napoleon when he gets tossed out the door. you see all those black skuffs. That is from us kids all parking our bikes and leaning them on that wall. Those are from the tires of the bikes leaning on that wall. We would then go inside and play pinball and other arcaded games in that little alcove next to the door.
Can't believe that Adam the Woo visited my high school, the mural was located right behind you in the beginning segment of the school. I was at Metro Center on day one, was a huge deal back in the day.
Well, now that excellent Shout! Factory Blu-ray set is complete! What an episode. Thanks so much for hunting down the HHG of this beloved Classic. Went to University at ASU, and visited Coronado High way back in 2000. Wish I had taken pictures of the Campus then, as I knew there was something strangely familiar about its' distinctive architecture. Awesome Stuff. RIP MetroCenter Mall, and "Party On Dudes!"
@@malfuncsean Well, it worked out great. A little more distance from the filming, and coincided perfectly with the closing of the Metro Center Mall this year. Would a HHG episode work for "Bogus Journey?" It feels like that was mostly set bound, with the elaborate "Heaven & Hell" sequences. Although, of course, the legendary Vasquez Rocks played a large role. Thanks again for the 'excellent' trip.
Hey Sean I was there that night! I grew up at the mall. I was at the mall when they were filming it! My friend was the lifeguard who pushes napoleon down the water tube! He went to my high school.
You were correct about the "Alley". It was like a "L" shaped cut though the building that exited on the left hallway. Where the Antique photo store was you could turn left around the corner and exit. the photo store ran along that part of the alley. I remember it well. In fact I was at Metrocenter mall When I saw the movie for the firs time. The whole theater screamed "metro" at the escalator scene.
Great episode! So cool to see these spots. I have such fun memories of this movie. Anxiously awaiting the soundtrack coming out, being introduced to EXTREME for the 1st time, hunting down there 1st record, and being so excited “Play With Me” was on it. Freshman year glory. Looking back I wish I would have gotten into the toys, but can see why I wasn’t chasing that stuff down at the time. Love your work man. Seeing you figure out the Abe scene is what’s it’s all about. Chancing it...and discovering gold. Take care man
Glad to see someone finally do a comprehensive video on this one, even going out to nowhere for the former Carefree Studios. I used to buy beer at the Circle K when I lived in Tempe and had a buddy who worked at the bowling alley. Of course I point out the waterpark to visiting friends and family.

Most excellent job! I had no idea Metrocenter Mall closed down! I would have gone down there on the last day. I used to live close to the Circle K when I was a little kid. Again, great job on this video! Liked and subscribed 👍
Some more info about "The Alley"... you know how there are service corridors running behind the stores, for employees to take out garbage, and to receive deliveries? Imagine if someone said "Hey, let's open up one of those corridors to shoppers, and use the back of the retail space as the front!" So you entered a narrow space between two stores and found yourself in a brick-walled corridor of little shops behind the mall-facing stores, with some old signage and junkyard-type props on the wall for decoration. The old-west photo booth where Lincoln takes his picture was an actual store.
Excellent job! This is the most detailed video I have seen! I live near Phoenix and grew up going to the circle k, Golfland and that bowling alley. So many memories. Can you imagine living in Bill or Teds house? Do the owners even care? Lol. Great job man!!!!!
Probably my favorite episode so far. Very fortuitous you finding out about the mall. You gave that mall a nice sendoff i'm sure it somewhat deserved. 😜 So STOKED for "Face The Music". Hope we get to see it in theaters.
I actually went to Coronado. It literally looks like it’s a completely different school now. We used to go to El Dorado park. It’s right down the street. A few of us used to live in the apartments a couple blocks away on McDowell and Granite Reef. The auditorium used for their final presentations was where we had our Freshman orientation which is where the mural was.

I worked at this mall when I was a youngster, like 20 years ago. They used to have fountains that would shoot from the bottom floor up to the roof of the second floor in the main corner. Such a great mall. One of the greatest malls in the valley if not the greatest. They will all be dead soon.
