In X6, Gate stage 2, you can choose Shadow Armor to travel through the ridiculous amount of spikes and skip a few enemies. However, in gate stage 3, it punishes you at the leap of faith parkour because like no armor x, shadow armor x cannot air dash like other armors. So in the end, you had to use Blade/Falcon/Ultimate armor to get through as X. For me in X8, the hardest stages or rather unfair stages are Optic Sunflower and Burn Rooster stage. Sure, Optic Sunflower challenges can be cleared with ease with the right weapon, armor parts or Axl's grenade launcher. What makes it unfair is that every time you failed and die in a parkour section (most notorious is the spike on the floor and ceiling section), it will reduce the difficulty of the next challenges by 1 when you respawn, making it difficult to obtain the Metal Generator or Life tank chip. It is so debilitating that the moment you die, you might as well return to base immediately and start all over again. Burn Rooster had 3 auto-scroller section. The first two are very fast paced. Fall too early before a platform spawns for you to land and you die. Wait too late and the screen eats away your health bar for being off-screen. Sure, using Axl/Pallete to tap fire in mid air can slow your falling but it is a bit too long. Then there is the spikes in the parkour. It is literally everywhere. And the worst offender is the one leading to Dr. Light's capsule. There is spike left and right of the wall jumping but because the spike colour is black instead of grey, it is barely noticeable (even with upscaled resolution in emulation) on the right wall until you take damage with prickle barrier or die. This is the one stage with the highest amount of backtracking. You need Axl to transform into a reploid with hover ability at the end, go back up to get Zero's hammer and then return to the stage as Zero with Gravity Antonion's weapon just to slam a floor. Well, even Bamboo Pandamonium had this issue, especially since you need the ride armor for at least two of the chip upgrades.

Sigma stage 1 from the original game does have that difficult platforming section. However, there's a trick where you can scale the cliff and get in the fortress with ease
On X1 Sigma stage 1, if you use the full charge rolling shield to get a shield around X, the helicopter dudes don't affect you anymore, and makes that platforming section so so so much easier
I like Gygabolt Man-o-war's stage because you can beat him under 58 seconds. Bamboo Pandamoniums stage while trying to get the ride armor to the boss battle can be tricky.
The thumbnail is impossible in X3. Here's why. So I know that it's X3, b/c he's getting ready to dash up in the air. He has the helmet, too, though (Helmet and Legs on that armor set) but you need the arm piece of get the helmet b/c you need to use the powered up version of volt catfish's move to break the metal beams holding the boulder up that is guarding the capsule. Correct me if I'm wrong or missed something.
Whale's stage in X5 is the hardest, I'd argue. Kraken can be learned and is very consistent beyond the boss, just a fine stage overall. Whale's 10 minutes of autoscrolling and midbosses is hell and each fight clutters the screen quite heavily. Scaravich's stage is way harder on Xtreme, as the virus count there is incredibly high compared to Easy/Normal, so there's a big contrast. Gate Lab 2 is very difficult in terms of enemy placement where-as Lab 3 is mostly consistent and simple, but it has way more instant-kill obstacles in comparison, along with Gate's fight being harder than High Max. Also, Nightmare Effects aren't RNG and X3 is the easiest X game. Cool video though.
4:34 Hmm, I rarely had any difficulty with the platforms in the first part of the first Sigma stage. I usually just turn on the charged rolling shield and laugh at the enemies that hit it. But without the charge shot upgrade (or if the platforms spawn awkwardly enough), it can be a bit of a pain.
MEGA MAN X7: I found the fight with RED to be the most difficult part, but the entire game suffers from poor balancing. You need to level up Zero’s special attack and Axl’s RPG launcher first and then spam your way through the game. Then you need to level up AXL and Megaman entirely. Once your characters are 100% the game is EASY. I beat it 10 times.
The x6 pick u putted as gate 3 but in reality it is gate stage 2 as u just go from the highmax fight straight to this stage. I agree with the pick but it is still gate stage 2
MEGA MAN ZX: the hardest task in this game was getting the energy tank in the LAVA field Area-K. If not for the fact my computer slowed down to a crawl due to a Chrome memory leak, I’d have never been able to get it. I got lucky.
MEGA MAN X8: once you level up your characters the game is easy. The hardest level, I feel is Gigabolt Manohar. For me Wheel gator stage is the hardest of X2 Kill that b....WITHOUT ARMOR is kind of a pain specially for beginers who plays X1 as his first megaman Mandatory wall slash, tons of damage if you touch him.....I have a friend who drop megaman x2 because that Also for me the hardest snes X game In X3 the boots are in blizzard buffalo stage and that grants you with a great advantage in combat In X2 you start with NOTHING. Tanks hidden with malice, armor set with an obligatory boss battle, and the containers ......OMG THE F.....container of that snail stage and his diabolic "double mech--jump milimetric miss f..... step 😭😭😭😭😭 Like your video buddy Merry xmas!
I'm always interested in how you will dunk on crystal snail and web spider hahahaha. Also if you use the rolling shield in sigma 1 the flying platforms are cake
20 years ago I used a password generator to get the heart and completion of Chill Penguin so I could skip boots entirely. No one is going to fault me for skipping the hardest boss, right? Climbing the tower after killing Vile sucked. Oh, and there's only one jump that you can't do, but it's fortunately in Sigma 2 - so after Zero gives you the free arm upgrade to charge the ice up. Now that I think about it, I'm surprised the game didn't crash or show random memory locations as pixel data when I beat it. The ending sequence where it lists the characters, it finishes with X dashing. If you don't have the boots, he has no legs. Interesting take, but I disagree with the approach. I think it'd be best to rate levels based on how bad does it feel when going to it immediately after the intro stage, completely naked and broke - at least for the maverick stages. I say this because they are put together with a minimum level of power in mind (in theory) while the gear you acquire is meant to make them easy to show the progression of the player's power.
Sounds like you may want to play through each level without upgrades, then make your judgement. That method would eliminate the "experienced gamer" aspect.
I had barely any deaths to the sea on Air Forces in X7, believe it or not. Edit: Wanna know why I say the escape sequences in Metroid are actually good, unlike Inferno? Because they aren't auto-scrollers.
I agree that X4 is the easiest of the series, even an armorless X run is doable because of Lightning Web. Final Weapon Stage 2 becomes harder without the leg part.
MEGA MAN ZX: the hardest part is figuring out the Goddamn map. 🗺️ If you can deal with that, I’d say the hardest possible part is fighting OMEGA Ω model OX.
regarding mmx1, i hate doing flame mammoths stage if i haven't beaten chill penguin first, it's so much more difficult without dash boots and the lava, granted that's just me i suppose
The 8 Maverick stages can all be beaten without the boots, because in principle the stages are supposed be able to be played and beaten in any order. You can at least make it to the end of the level and kill the boss, even if you probably can't grab most of the upgrades. For the Sigma stages, they were finally able to make the dash a requirement since you have to have beaten Chill Penguin's stage to get there and they made it impossible to *not* get that upgrade. I suspect the annoyance of having to work around that limitation is why you have the regular dash be default in the X games afterwards.
The hardest level is the first sigma level from MMX1, where zero passed away. It's so hard to get over his death. But as he dyes every time, you become used to that anyway...
I'd say Mega Man Zero are the hardest games in the series. Makes sense especially considering the Mega Man world in-universe is at its worst during those games.
Yeah I am not a speed runner but I will generally do a MMX playthrough every few years since it is one of my favorite franchises and I always mix up the bike stages from X4 and X5. I will freak out on Jet Stingray and then think, "Oh, that wasn't so bad. I've really grown as a gamer...". Then X5 comes around and I say, "No wait, this is the one I hate!". There is just a stunning lack of polish after X4 IMO like devs just stopped giving a shit about the series.X6 in particular just takes a "Fuck it let's just kill them" approach which seems vindictive (Donuts I'm talking to you!)
For me, every stage in X1 is easy, as long as I don't play the legacy collection switch version... (I suck at playing on a controller tbh and I can't even improve after infinite dying to chill penguin
If you're going to rate objective difficulty, you should look at all the levels as if you were going in with nothing. For instance, in MMX1, you're basically like "Well, Boomer Kuwanger's stage isn't hard because I always play it after first beating about 5 or 6 other stages and getting a ton of weapons and power ups." Like, no shit it isn't as hard at that point. Does it not occur to you that the reason you go through Chill Penguin's stage without upgrades but not Kuwanger's is because the latter is more difficult than the former? I mean, really, you've basically answered your own question when you're talking about proper "routing" and preparation. Essentially: "Should you play Kuwanger's stage first directly after the intro level?" "No." "Why?" "Because it's a much harder level to start with."
Seriously? The opening and first stage of Sigma's fortress is the hardest? Use the fully charged Rolling Shield for the barrier and those flying enemies literally can't touch you, which allows you to just focus on the jumps. Yeah, it's still a little hairy, but Storm Eagle's stage is about as bad.
None of the Mega Man X levels and bosses are hard if you play the game in a specific order. I will agree that the Sigma Stage 1 in X1 is annoying. The Jet Stingray stage in X4 is only hard trying to get the upgrades. Squid Adler's stage in X5 is annoying; especially trying to get those blue orbs. Blaze Heatnix's damn doughnut boss.... 😡 X7 is just a mess. Having those saves those characters, Ant Eater's level when it goes upside down is annoying. Crimson Palace 1 is annoying too for sure. That X8 Moon Base level is annoying.
Who else would like to see him finish the X, X2 & X3 without dashing?
That sounds like torture. And Mega Man fans love inflicting torture on other Mega Man fans.

Title: the hardest level in all megaman x games. Most used word in entire video: easy.
I haven't beaten X2, or X3. They are SO freaking hard!
Wonder what the hardest stages will be with no upgrades be like
20 years ago I used a password generator to get the heart and completion of Chill Penguin so I could skip boots entirely.
X2 intro stage is the hardest for me, bacouse I have to see Green Biker Dude dies. 😢
I would love to see you play it with no dash boots.
I like Squid Adler's stage, you just lack finesse Tooterp, that's all.
I respect you but you just lack finesse.
I agree that X4 is the easiest of the series, even an armorless X run is doable because of Lightning Web.
Final Weapon Stage 2 becomes harder without the leg part.
MEGA MAN ZX: the hardest part is figuring out the Goddamn map. 🗺️
If you can deal with that, I’d say the hardest possible part is fighting OMEGA Ω model OX.
regarding mmx1, i hate doing flame mammoths stage if i haven't beaten chill penguin first, it's so much more difficult without dash boots and the lava, granted that's just me i suppose
Nobody can beat X1 without the dash boots. It's impossible. If you did it... wow.
There’s a code that you can have all of the weapons without the armor. But you can’t beat the game without an armor part
Makes sense especially considering the Mega Man world in-universe is at its worst during those games.
u right with mx4 and thats why im doing a run without powers, armor, hearts, and no damage, is more fun and challenging that way
and magma dragoon obviusly without the robot
Lasers :(
It took an entire month btu I'm finally caught up on youtube from ebing gone for like 10 days
Megaman x5 hardest stage is tidal whale stage because you can die of old age waiting for that fucking autoscroller
X7 and X8 reviews + axl's stupidest, best, and worst weapons pretty please
Kay, now do Mega Man X: Hard Type (ROM Hack)
MEGA MAN X3: hardest part for me was the Sigma battle.
You missed out many levels but I can clearly understand it. If you missed a stage, it's because they're downright easy.
Overdrive Ostrich stage is lots of fun. Damn, Bubble Crab's weapon is so pretty.
I’ve never seen someone do wall jumps in sigma stage 2 in mmx3
Hey how was your holiday ? Hopefully it was good.
For me, every stage in X1 is easy, as long as I don't play the legacy collection switch version... (I suck at playing on a controller tbh and I can't even improve after infinite dying to chill penguin
Great list
20:18 Blaze Heatnix’s stage was garbage. Simply broken game design.
It'd be awesome if you made castlevania content.
Maga man x3 is also my favorite and I go first to turnnel rino stage
You doing the speed run up the vertical spike walls looks cool, and also rage inducing. Glad it's not mandatory.
Definitely I love it 🔥
You misnumbered the Sigma stage in X3. It's the second, not the third.
X7 is just a mess. Having those saves those characters, Ant Eater's level when it goes upside down is annoying. Crimson Palace 1 is annoying too for sure.
That X8 Moon Base level is annoying.
Imo the og megaman & zero series are tougher than the X series.
Mega Man X3 was a pain to play
