If I were to guess I'd say he spawned the item, then paused just as it disappeared, allowing him to switch weapons, but it looks like it somehow glitched and the platform was still there but the sprite wasn't...the reason it may not be humanly possible is perhaps the item needs to be placed precisely, and the pause has to be executed frame-perfectly as the item hits the invisible wall...there may have been one of those funky wall jumps in there too...
Tooterp, you deserved to be subscribe for the hard work for every video you have and especially my favourite video game of all time, Megaman/Rockman series. I salute you.🫡
The guy that made this TAS in particular (Shinryu) has a RUclips channel of his own where he plays Megaman fan games every once in a while, and he introduced me to a bunch of fan games I probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.
I made the siren of Dr Wily's ship as a ringtone; works really well in a high noise industrial environment and cuts thru loads of construction/etc noise well. Also, the Tentacle theme from Maniac Mansion also cuts thru really well as a ringtone
I would actually really like to see the other speedruns for the other mega man games. would be cool for ya to react to crazy and foreign glitches from them no matter how big or small.
Uhhhh.... Megaman is basically Ultra Instinct Goku in this TASS lmao. Also, I'm surprised that speed runners aren't using Air Shot against Crashman. I'm not a speed runner, but I had even gotten pretty good at one-shotting Crashman with all three tornadoes.
i tested the tooterp lightly and failed but i mentioned that i'm not great with glitches, especially off the cuff like that so at least i was saying it was still possible it would work lol
It might just be misspeaking, but you said the TAS "edits" the RNG, which is a little inaccurate. They can read it at all times, but the ROM and RAM are unedited: all the manipulations are in-game. Just with the benefits of time travel of course they can do perfect manipulation so for instance Heat Man's first 30frame is done by choosing how to dance during the stage. The rest of them being during the battle itself of course, which is why Mega Man randomly tanks damage
@@drachefly Yeah it's not really wrong, just I consider 'edit' and 'manipulate' to be different things. Edit means you have the ability to make up a value and overwrite what was there with what you just made. Manipulate means you are able to take what was there and make changes to it, usually according to its rules. it's all just a minor grammatical thing probably. Strong ability to manipulate like a TAS has makes it so you can have almost any result you want, so effectively it's almost editing. But it's almost, if they had actual edit powers they could just overwrite the PRNG value on the frames they wanted without having to be fancy about it
@@emdivine Quit being smug. It isn't any different than him calling zips glitches. They're the same thing, and trying to explain why you think you're right makes you look like an asshole. Not everyone thinks like you do.
It’s completely correct. If played normally, the RNG would lead to random outcomes. Through making nonsensical inputs, the random outcomes are edited at will to be whatever is fastest.
@@Dziaji That's not how it works at all. There is no string of inputs that sets RNG to good. They just observe what drops when an enemy pops on that frame, then the next one, then the next one... Same with bosses, see which direction the boss goes when I shoot or jump or change direction myself on this frame, then that frame, then the next one.... Choose whichever one leads to your desired outcome the fastest.
final secene's item 1 seem like disappear, but actully still alive. and if you want kill alien quickly, close alien, and make sure megaman's hand is inside alien's body. .......and,push speed shoting button and you will see his life just like something you happy about ........until your hand or foot hit on table's foot.
It essentially reads the input data and makes it what you wants kinda why you see the 1 ups everywhere after killing some enemies.not perfect on the drops but on jumps and the frames perfects it helps out.
never understood why people are impressed with TAS runs. You're basically breaking every possible restriction setup and letting the computer handle all of it. Speedruns by humans are fare more impressive.
You used jump-cuts in this. Do you know how _jarring_ that is? It might make some people think that's a normal part of the tool-assisted speedrun. Maybe consider not doing that, next time.
@@christinarawlings948 not really. I guess if you are speedrunning it, and therefor not using e-tanks, the wiley fights before the alien can be a little tricky, because saving a crash bomb from the boss with the walls and the orbs on the wall takes a precision bomb placement on the top left. If you aren't speedrunning, You can either save an etank for the pre-alien wiley fight and just metal blade the shit out of it, and use an etank if necessary, or you can purposefully game over after the room boss to continue and get your crash bombs back and then that double wiley fight is silly because it just takes a few crash bombs and he's dead in like 10 seconds. The re-fights of all the bosses are super easy if you use the right weapons, and you get enough. I guess you could say the laser beams in quick man are hard, but again, there is a workaround to make it super easy by just using flash stop once the lasers get a bit quicker, and in that case, you might need to use an etank on quickman because you can't use the flash stop on him to get rid of 1/2 his life. Another thing that seems a bit hard but you can just skip is the long disapearing block section over the lava and pit in heat man, but you just use item 2 and skip the whole thing. So that leaves at most 3 somewhat difficult things in the game, but they can all be basically skipped, so once you figure those 3 things out, which isn't very hard to do, the game has no challenging parts at all. It is still super fun.
I like how Bubbleman is like, "Uh...what's happening? Ow!"
lol cover your ears "pushes headphones harder into ears"

im pretty sure the glitch around 4:55 is some sort of delay scroll caused by the birds and the shots megaman shot. idk exactly tho
I appreciate the number of times you were like wtf just happened
Really liked the commentary! Hope someone knows how that invisible platform appeared in the final stage

While I wasn't speedrunning,I managed to one shot Crash Man with the Air Shooter

Love this series of WR/TAS watches, Tooterp.

To fuckin right!!
*sits and waits impatiently*
Who the fuck are you?
Tasvideos has REALLY good documentation on all of the glitches.
I'd definitely watch you reacting to speedruns of the rest of the classic series maybe even the X series as well.
Mega man 2 tas goes hard
That Air Man stage was absolutely nasty work wtf
Maybe because I am sleep deprived but is that 'CHEESE' thing an obscure reference to the TGFbro channel?!
I would actually really like to see the other speedruns for the other mega man games. would be cool for ya to react to crazy and foreign glitches from them no matter how big or small.
I was playing this video while trying to nap and realized that air mans theme fits to complicated by avri lavigne… i’ll never be able to unhear it…
they use save points to do this tas?
Wait ! ! ? I just noticed something or am I crazy. The armored Amarillo shots looks just like the hadukon.
You are crazy. That is a different game
@@Dziaji I know, but I was playing myself. Buts it's been awhile since an X video.
@@maxstone3779 X is the best Megaman game, so I applaud you, sir
The music from this game is probobly the best music made in any video game.
The original Mega Man is my favorite game in the franchise. MM2 comes in at a close second place.
New sub. I am terrible at MM, but love to watch. Also, your hat is 🔥.
Tooterp didd you play the recently new Y+1 XMAS Megaman game yet? 9 stages and 3 bosses for a lot of fun! a short but good game
A proud noob who dies to quick mans' laser section. 😂
Good commentary. Awesome video.

PRNG on NES is done using controller inputs. So they're 'editing' it through the controller. Could be misleading wording, but not exactly wrong.

sick glitches
If the game switched Wily 3 and Wily 4 stages there be a lot less complaining as you get the weapon energy reloads before the boss rush

The reason people like and say it’s the best megaman is cause it’s easy.
No, it is because it has the best music and has the most fun weapons and bosses. The easiness is to its detriment.
what about hard mode Mega Man 2? it still has it's hard moments
