Wood turning some vintage black walnut into a classic bowl

Hello and welcome to my channel. Come along and watch me turn some vintage walnut into a basic but classic looking bowl. Thanks to my friends Andy and Stephanie for passing on this narley chuck of Indiana black walnut. It will ending up making two bowls. This video presents the basic steps in marking one of these pieces. What would you have done differently?

Even with the cracks, still a beautiful bowl. Walnut is the King of N American hardwoods. Well done.
