Thank you for the kind words! The freehand was off a few degrees but the slices were thick enough for me to “turn out” the error. Have a great day, Michael
Love it. Thanks. Did you use the drum sander to remove the tread? I have a bunch (40?) boards but heaitant to get started in tread removal. No drum sander in my small shop.
David, No drum sander. I use a heat gun to soften the treads adhesive. Then use a puffy knife to get under the tread and start to peal it loose. Once enough is free I wrap it around a 3/4 inch dowel and peel it all off. Do all this while maintaining some heat on the immediate area your pealing off. Using clamps I make a holder to direct the heat in order to free up both hands. Good luck, Michael
@@SapperWoodworking I was a 12/21B in the military that is the Sapper I was referring to never heard that name outside of the military. Certainly never heard it as a proper name. Pretty cool.
They look fantastic Michael.
Great video and amazing freehand cutting of the rings.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw

Lots of work you put in to the preparation. Beautiful bowls.
Yes, It is a lot of prep work but always worth the effort. Thanks for commenting. Michael
FINALLY! Someone found a use for skateboards!
(I used to use them to haul out the trash cans.)
steve
Steve, I used too ride them on ramps in a former life….they are fun to woodwork with no matter. Cheers! Michael
Very cool bowls. How did you add all the colours?
I didn’t add any of the colors! The skate deck’s already have the color in the wood from the factory. Cheers and thanks for watching. Michael

Sapper not to many know what that means, are you retired?
Semi retired! And Sapper is actually my given surname! How are you familiar with the term Sapper?
