    We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

    Nicely done sir. You might try using a flex shaft Dremel tool with a Kutzall burr to remove the punk wood. Also, if that doesn't go deep enough for you you can get a piece of same size steel rod and weld it to the burr shaft. You can extend the burr that way to any practical length you might want.

    Good work. Instead of grinding the table legs around the bolt holes you could use your step drill bit and drill from the other side slightly creating a small chamfer. I love to mix metal and wood in my projects.

  • @JustinArrington
    @JustinArrington Год назад +7

    Quick tip, when using that router with the square/round base, use the round side along a straight edge fence. The reason is when using the flat side, you can have it lift away from the straight edge ever so slightly and it can ruin a straight line. If you keep the round side against the straight edge, you can rotate the router without losing contact with the straight edge and your line will stay true. Lovely table you have there. Good luck to you and your family.

    2 tips for you,
    1 set your distances off the rounded part of yout router so if the router turns slightly your cut won't wander.
    2 for router depth put the cutter down onto the surcace and put yout c channel inbetween the depth slider and one of the posts and it'll be perfectly flush.

    Yes Dremel !!! Glad at least 1 person has the IQ to use a quality reaming item for debarking pits and cavities ! There are many Dremel items or Dremel/Dremel-like bits that can be googled. Have said this to many woodworkers - even the woodturning/carving vid peeps. If need be, then get a local welder to weld on a longer shaft, and then abraid down the shaft to smooth surface - so no wobbling.

    • @johnlord8337

      Just my peeve - is filling voids with black epoxy when the cavity is big enough to pour clear and be able to see the burly wood surface and texture, while cracks and splits would be blacked.

    I see the C channels have elongated holes to allow for shrinking and expansion, but the crossed table legs don't, this will cause the table top to crack over time as the legs screwed to the bottom of the bottom of the table in that way will restrict expansion and shrinkage. In short for longevity of original form, the table legs also need elongated holes too

    When you drill out the screw holes of the channel stand - why not use a drill collar (ring with hex nut) so that you never have to worry about depth when you have properly set the depth of the drill.

      @@grill_in_da_kat A cordless would sort of work. Not really fast enough for the burrs to cut properly though.
      Also, generally, putting burrs and mills into a three jaw chuck is a very bad idea. The radial loads rattle them loose and they end up flying across your workshop.
      That said, I've done it before lol.

    Although your work on this table far exceeds anything I could do, I sincerely advise you to watch "Blacktail Studio" before you start making things like this for your customers. I would personally be very disappointed in the C channel inserts and the fact that the cuts are not perfect. As a customer paying for a slab of wood like that I would expect perfection at every level. Great job though overall and GL in the future.
