    Lyrics:
    I am home
    Lost my job
    And incurably ill
You think this is easy, realism
I've got a girl out there, I suppose
    I think she's dancing
Feel like Dan Dare lies down
I think she's dancing, what do I know?
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around, no, can't turn around, no, oh ooh
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around, no, turn around no, oh no
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
    I've got believers (kiss-kiss)
    Believing me
    One more weekend
    Of lights and evening faces
    Fast food, living nostalgia
    Humble pie or bitter fruit
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around, no, can't turn around, no, oh oooh
    I am a D.J., I am what I say
Can't turn around, no, turn around, ooh
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
    I've got believers (kiss-kiss)
    Believing me
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around, no, can't turn around
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around, no, can't turn around
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
    Can't turn around no (kiss-kiss)
Time flies when you're having fun
Break his heart, break her heart
He used to be my boss and now he is a puppet dancer
    I am a D.J., and I've got believers
I've got believers, I've got believers
I've got believers in me (I've got believers)
    I am a D.J., I am what I play, I am a D.J
    About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Wtf is 'anti-Bowie'? The very idea of that is opposed to what Bowie was about as much as anything. It means there must be a typical Bowie sound/style/album. I agree it was 'brave', but it was really Bowie being Bowie- writing and recording what was in his head and he felt needed to create.

There's fantastic musicians on the album, but that was long a staple of Bowie's albums. You could count on great musicianship w/o it always sounding like they were, as Bowie's ideas for guitar sounds esp. was very outre and adventurous.

I think she's dancing, what do I know?

    Fast food, living nostalgia
    Humble pie or bitter fruit
    I am a D.J., I am what I play
Can't turn around no, can't turn around no, ooh
    I am a D.J., I am what I say
Can't turn around no, can't turn around, ooh

Believe me or not.. But he visited me in a dream last night. It was amazing. We were acting in a play onstage and I was backstage when he came offstage and was changing clothes and then said to me how he knew how much I loved him since I was young and proceeded to pull all these pictures and papers I had sent him and you could hear them crunch in his hands cuz they're so old and I said I can't believe you kept them.. And he put his forehead on mine and whispered "it's miraculous" and then kissed me.. Then I woke up and was pissed! I wanted to stay there forever! It's like he really visited me and knew how I've loved him since 5th grade, I'm 52 now. And I heard his voice so clearly. I know some will make fun of me & say I'm crazy but I know a dream from a visitation. That was real & he was real and I am grateful & thankful he gave me a moment of his eternal time to tell me he thinks my love and dedication to him is "miraculous". I think he is too ❤❤❤

Bowie’s vocal delivery and third world ambience of Lodger album are obviously indebted to NY new wave scene especially Talking Heads and Devo who were most likely introduced by Eno.
