- In this video, BMW How-To shows you how to use BMW's Wireless Charging Station Universal. The part is compatible with almost all BMW cup holders and connects to the USB C adapter.
Your device will always be charged, also when your BMW is turned off. The power bank function will automatically turn on.

If your car is too old to have come with an USB port and have to plug in a cigarette lighter adapter, what's wrong with plugging the adapter's cable directly into your phone? It will charge much faster. 😔
If you must take the power bank with you, Amazon sells many such power banks for 1/20 of the price BMW will charge you. And you don't lose a cup holder.

With all due respect BMW, while this seems to perform its function properly, it is one of the most inelegant ways to charge a phone that I have ever seen. It's akin to just sticking the phone in the cupholder itself and plugging it in. If wireless charging wasn't built into the car to begin with please don't try to retrofit it, that goes for other features in general I would think. It's ok to be late to the game if you have a better product.
Again, no disrespect to BMW, I drive one and it handles better than anything I've ever driven but this kind of thing could hurt their image, especially when lower tier automakers are doing it better.
Cars Cars Cars the little tray behind the cup holders can have one built it, but an option at new. This is a retrofit solution only, not the only method

Massive let down in my opinion, no USB connection in the dash area and nothing for rear seat passengers. Huge let down.

So at the end of the day this is basically charging your phone as if it is wired but there is no wire......the purpose of wireless charging is that you can pick you phone up easily without the wire on your way........Why would I buy this if it functions the same as putting my phone on my phone mount and charge it with a wire that can charge way faster than this. Seriously BMW who designed this and how did it get to production line....😂
