*What could’ve been:* ✅ Sith perspective story similar to Darth Plagueis or Darth Bane novels; Sith warrior and inquisitor stories from SWTOR. ✅ Mature and grounded story similar to Andor but with the mysticism of the Dark Side. In-depth look at Sith philosophy as we follow a master/apprentice two vs an entire galaxy story. ✅ Well-written Sith protagonists part of a two-person organization in a thousand-year conspiracy to upset the Galactic status-quo. ✅ New Star Wars timeline. Reality: ❌ The Acolyte…. “The power of one, the power of two. The power of many.”
Never. Never. Never underestimate STAR WARS. Let LUCASFILM'S creators "cook" and 9.9 times out of 10, they will come through with the characters, acting, action and great story telling every time, even with a so-called "slow" start. I never lost faith.😏 😇
I’m still not totally convinced Qimir is actually sith. The way he said it made it seem like that’s how the JEDI would label him since he “has no name” but I also understand that Wookiepedia has updated his affiliation so Sith so 🤷🏽♂️
I remember that from the trailers, even though I LOVE masks in Star Wars and other media, I looked at Qimir's helmet and thought "ok, a generic helmet mixing Darth Vader with something else". But now, aware that the person wearing it has an extremely sadistic humorous side, I think the "teeth" that form the masks's sprawling grin fit perfectly. It’s like the mask itself laugh at every dead character.
I am the only one doubting Qamir is a Sith despite his vlaims to be? The plant in earlier episodes is to obvious and his wording on who he is is clumsy - Like he is either lying or someone (who is telling this episode) dont belive him. And it way to early to reveal the big bad boss so he has to be a Aprentice at most. But yes, Day and Night would have worked better together and even more if the Sith reveal would have overshadowed the Mundi debate last week. J.
I also think that Sol will catch on to the switch due to Osha's tattoo. It was casually touched on in Episode 1, and carefully put on camera when Qimir found Osha. I think it may be what tips Sol off at some point.
Im watching every week. And I really want to. But somehow, watching every episode so far feels like homework. And it’s frustrating not being able to say why.
Well the episode wasn’t as bad, I still thought it suffered from bad writing, bad dialogue, and a predictable plot with plot holes. Why couldn’t Sol sense that something was wrong with “Osha” at the end. Didn’t she have a tattoo on her forehead? And Qimir being the Sith Lord was way too obvious and predictable, just like Sauron being that discount Aragorn guy (Halbrand) in Rings of Power, the Amazon LOTR show that ignited a firestorm of controversy over its mishandling of Tolkien lore
I think based on all of Qimir's lines...he would not be THE master, he is very clearly an apprentice himself. I suspect we will learn of his master in a very impactful way.
I can definitely see Qimir getting away at the end of the season and we think he won (for example, all the Jedi who saw him are dead) and then he meets someone else and gets one-shot. And the camera pans to show a bith.
Yes! I was thinking this exact same thing. Even just revealing himself to the Jedi seems like something an amateur apprentice would do. That would also explain the helmet looking a bit silly.
Yeah. This episode brought some thoughts to me. What if the Jedi and all their actions created the Sith we know in prequels. What if all the ancient siths we know is just jedi’s interpretation of the sith. What if the real ancient sith are just wanted to live with the force in piece how they want (in the same way how witches wanted)
I like that thought. And it encapsulates the thought process of a sith. The idea that they’re more virtuous than the Jedi because they fully indulge in their desires
It’s interesting because Palpatine talks about bringing peace and order to the Galaxy and Wimir talks about wanting to use the Force the way he wants and to not be under the oppression of the Jedi, when it’s clear from their actions that they’re just power hungry and murderous.
Qimir's quips were great this episode. "She was a child" "You brought her here" and "Why risk discovery" "Well I did wear a mask" I think it's hard to believe that Sol wouldn't know the difference between the two twins though, considering she has that face tattoo and presumably burnt hair. Maybe he knows but is okay with that.
The 'disguise' of May was really cheap and I was wondering all the time already why the two had the same hairdresser while seperated for 16 years. It's honestly a really cheap 'trick'
I was at first sure that Sol would see through the disguise and realize that she is Mae and not Osha. But then I realized he is probably not calm and collected enough to see the finer details like the marking on her forehead to distinguish that she is Mae, since he had just come out of being stunned after fighting for his life while seeing his Padawan, and Yorde, and the rest of the Jedi on his away team get merciless killed by an evil that they were not prepared for.
He probably would, had his mind be kept in balance, but it’s not. Let’s not forget everything that transpired before he boards the ship with Mae. He just witnessed his colleagues get massacred. He himself almost went to the darkside by almost giving in and killing an unarmed Qimir, and his core philosophy and faith, that which his entire character is built on, was put into question by this Sith.
I think Sol knows or suspects about the switch - when he says “where is she” and Mae says “who”, Sol pauses before saying “your sister” like he’s unsure who to name.
Yeah, I think he knows. Bazil knows. The only surprises in store are for Mae and Qimir. Mae because she thinks she is slick; Qimir...because he thinks Mae and Osha...are identical (which I doubt). The Master is going to be so pissed when [they] finds out about all this happening.
I would be very surprised if Sol doesn't know about the switch. I kinda remember Yoda saying that each of the clones was different despite looking identical. Mae and Osha must have different "Force signatures" that tells them apart.
@@artfact2 Onto what? I never said he didn't know that is Osha. He said Osha *"looks"* just like Mae but that doesn't indicate much else about her beyond that. Sol does a lot of squinting in silence when he thinks about the two for whatever reason. I don't have enough information about why Qimir would take any interest in her.
Your reaction is the one I have been most eagerly anticipating. I've already seen a few reviews from other Star Wars RUclipsrs, but this is my favorite Star Wars channel.
RIP my girl Jecki. I knew, intellectually, she wasn't going to make it from the moment Darth Manny Jacinto showed up, but that doesn't make it any less painful. At least she went out like a little badass :(
She really brought her X23 past to the fight. So sad we won't see more of Jecki's skills or Yord putdowns. I just hope the Dafne Keen does more action films because that was incredible.
Honestly I felt quite the opposite and that makes me kinda sad. Jecki had so little screen time that I cared nothing about her death. I didn't know her at all at the time of her death except she seemed wise for her age.
I think there had the possibility, but the direction of the episode was this poor and they weren't able to bring the heavyness of their deaths even althogh they were brutal
@@Dergo666 I can totally understand that POV but for me I felt for her because we were robbed of seeing more of her, her life was taken along with any future stories. It’s like a real death in the way that the potential was taken. This smart, capable character with people in story who care for her was taken in a split second moment
If you listen closely you can hear Kylo Ren's theme in the background as Qimir looks down at Osha. And earlier in the episode he said "Jedi like you might call me a sith" I have a feeling that Qimir might be a Knight of Ren, or maybe the first Ren
Hum well I agree but also felt the suspens from last week’s episode was good. It worked for me anyway. I think the series will have a very different feel when it’s finished and we can binge watch it 🙂
I will NEVER forgive them how they murdered my dear Jecki! But those were some dang good fights! On one hand I want to watch it over and over again, but at the same time I can't bear to watch all of them die again :D As for the "Sith"-Topic: I'm still not convinced that he is a "true" Sith. He said "you might call me a Sith", but it didn't sound like he views himself as one
@@joshhudson7413Yet I bet all nine moons of Utapau, you're the exact type of person, who's holding out tears whenever a random battle droid or clone trooper dies, because they fought "for the glory of the Republic/Seperatists".
Honestly, can't really believe they actually killed of someone who's just a little older than a child and that on-screen and in such a brutal way. Anyway, missing my alien girl, the other Kel Dor, the little droid and "Get everybody out of my Yord", just hoping they won't kill of Vernestra or I will riot.
Jecki’s death was insane and my favorite part of this series so far. He hit her with three strikes creating a triad (which we all know is Sith symbology). Something I will replay in my mind for the next week.
I also thought the use of the bugs was interesting. In episode 4, only one died and Osha mourned its loss, yet here she sacrificed probably dozens of them to save herself and Sol, which seems like some type of foreshadowing to me.
I don't think he is a Sith. He's a Knight of Ren, perhaps their founder. Qimir says "I have no name." He also says "A Jedi *like you* would call me Sith." He doesn't outright state that he IS a Sith. No dramatic namedrop, nothing of the usual egotistic stuff we see from Sith. He also goes on about the Jedi having too many rules and that he wants freedom. Nothing about revenge or domination or destroying the Jedi. Yord says that he fights without method, the Sith are disciplined and elegant in a way, Qimir is lead only by his passion, he doesn't act according to a grand plan or strict discipline. Yord also says that he invades your mind and stays there, the closest analogy can be drawn to Kylo Ren invading Rey's mind. He also uses Force heal which we have not seen Sith to use before, which could indicate that he is not fully devoted to the dark side. He talks about accepting his own darkness, embracing the shadow and doing as they wish is the core philosophy of the Knights of Ren. There are also several prominent instances of the Kylo Ren theme, first in the beginning of the episode when Osha picks up PIP and even more clearly at the end around the 28 minute mark where Qimir heals Osha.
I'm with you on this! I immediately wondered if he was a Knight of Ren when he was revealed. It was the only way I could make sense of the timeline. Although, we know so little about what Sith lived during this time. I figure that Plagueis or his master is the Dark Lord at this time. So this could be expanding on the Knights of Ren. Which people practically begged for during the sequels. I didn't get really interested in Knights of Ren until I saw Qi'ira working with them in the comics. I think this could be an attempt at fleshing out their story. Honestly, I can use a break from the Sith.
knight of ren would be really good. It avoids the plot issues with the sith rule of two, and it gives the spotlight to something that was never really elaborated on in the sequel trilogy plus he totally looks the part with the weirdo helmet that all the knights seem to have
It only appears people are hating this series. Criticisms get engagement, so a cranky vocal minority will criticize anything. Even you think some things are "worth criticizing" and I engaged. Cheers, loving it

There are faults tho, the lightsaber fight made no sense, where was sol the entire fight? How did jecki hold off Qimir when multiple onights couldn't? She fought him better than 8 knights combined.
@@petarstoqnov6424 Where was sol the entire fight? Sol fought him 90% of the time lmao. If you're talking about the beginning, he may have been knocked out briefly like Osha was.

Shout out to Jecki for being so eager to fight the Sith using Jar'kai, and for holding her own with such. She had some natural talent for dual wielding. Though I wish we got to see more Jar'kai in this episode. Sol could've easily picked up Jecki's saber to force Qimir into dual wielding himself. And with Yord's untimely death, Sol could've easily pulled that saber for some funky moves as well
One thing I noticed is that, after Mae disguises herself as Osha and goes to Sol, he he speaks to her about Mae, and refers to her as ‘your sister’, making it seem like he is talking to Osha. Throughout the show, when Sol talked to Osha about Mae, he always referred to her as ‘Mae’, not as ‘your sister’. Only now, after they swap places, does he refer to Mae as ‘your sister’. I think he knows they swapped places, and is choosing to hide it
I NEVER thought I'd see the day where Disney+ goes full dark side and allows a beloved good guy to get his neck snapped in half by the bad guy on screen. Disney was wylin' when they allowed that! I had to put the babies out the room, because they started crying and asking questions. The whole time, I'm cackling at how brutal Disney is being. 😂😂😂
It is a shame that jecki and yord aren’t going to get full arcs but I think that’s exactly why this episode is so effective. The last few episodes really set us up to feel cozy and safe with our main four heroes and planted seeds for arcs for those two while telegraphing Sol’s death. It’s such a rug pull and feels like such a betrayal bc the buildup pointed us in that direction. I loved those characters and would’ve wanted to see more but I think it was a pretty brilliant story twist
Omg sooo much happening in this one!! 1. Jecki going up against Smilo Ren reminded me of Ahsoka taking on Grievous and Ventress in the Clone Wars and absolutely NOT getting dominated, but instead just showcasing such insane talent, control, courage, and creativity for a padawan. Even Jecki’s smirk when she got dual sabers was just so badass😏 !! That said, the parallel made me feel like she wouldn’t win but she’d at least get away like Ahsoka and I gasped so loud when she didn’t make it 😩😭 2. Was NOT ready for Yord to go down, still not. There’s such a place in the world for people like him who have a long way to go maturity wise but can really show up and add value in the present. We all have our limitations. He really was “our jerk” lol. I’ve been feeling excited this whole time to see what season 2 would mean for his and Jecki’s development (like the type of development that really hits home and resonates), so a bit sad there. That said, I’m kinda really liking the lack of Jedi heroes in this show - even Sol is such a flawed hero. These are so many shades of grey that are unsettling but also so powerful. It feels like the real world. And I’m here for the messiness. I wish they had more budget to slow down and enhance pretty much every aspect of the show bc there’s just so much to love. 3. Speaking of unsettling, the relationship between Mae and Osha has me a bit shook. As a twin myself that went through family trauma together with her, that codependence and weird feeling of “is this love or manipulation/trauma” is definitely a thing that comes up in adulthood when you don’t look at your pain. I’m sure they won’t be able to do it justice with so much to tackle in the show, but the fact that that’s in the show too - again I just appreciate so many solid nuggets of powerful storytelling in here. Family is so big in Star Wars and let’s be fr, family is messsssssyyyy (not just I have a sister I didn’t know about). 4. Definitely heard the Kylo Ren theme in there, anyone have an analysis? I have to go back and watch again. 5. I’m so impressed with how quickly the writers got us to care about Jecki and Yord. I’m noticing a lot of fans aren’t seeming as invested in Osha and Mae - I’m sure there’s a term in film for this where we follow the main characters but don’t care about them the most (admittedly I felt this way about Luke in the OT for a long time, I cared more about the journey the full group/world was on). Are they not spending enough time on them? I’m invested because of the twin thing I mentioned in point 3 and the possible dyad situation. But I still feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s the tragedy with Sol and the Jedi that’s realllllly gonna get us feeling for them when they reveal it. 6. Thank you for explaining why the sabers were all shorting out. I had no idea wtf was going on.
All very well said. I do like Osha/Mae though, great actress and well written but I did care about Jecki (and maybe even Yord) a lot more. I never cared about Luke, to me he has always the least interesting character in Star Wars.
I think that he is not truly a Sith He says that he has "No Name" and "You would call me Sith", to assume that anyone that uses a red saber is automatically a Sith I'm more inclined to belive that he is a proto KoR between the mask, cape, obsession of being free and Kylo's motive at the end
The ONE time Yord decides to break the rules…
Also did anyone else notice the Kylo Ren theme at the end when No Name picked up the helmet?
Something broke, alright...

I'm a little confused why Sol doesn't realise that Mae is pretending to be Osha. He should be able to feel that her presence is different.
Loving the Force-Fu in this show
6:50 reminds me of marchion Ro’s idea of freedom
wait..., jedi can die?! FROM A LIGHTSABER
Alex saying Yord was our jerk reminded me of MJF whose a scumbag, but he's our scumbag. Qimir wrecking shop. Yord is Yord now he's in the Force. Jecki's death hit me hard, im going to bed
Great fight scene, still having issues with the storytelling, which is so frustrating after this episode.
*What could’ve been:*
✅ Sith perspective story similar to Darth Plagueis or Darth Bane novels; Sith warrior and inquisitor stories from SWTOR.
Reality:
❌ The Acolyte…. “The power of one, the power of two. The power of many.”
Manny was incredible in this episode. Legitimately terrifying and made me hate him lol
If his master is revealed as Darth plagueis as a Muun I would be shocked but very happy
Never. Never. Never underestimate STAR WARS. Let LUCASFILM'S creators "cook" and 9.9 times out of 10, they will come through with the characters, acting, action and great story telling every time, even with a so-called "slow" start. I never lost faith.😏 😇
The fight scenes were superb, but in my household we didn’t appreciate the killing of Jecki and Yord.
I’m still not totally convinced Qimir is actually sith. The way he said it made it seem like that’s how the JEDI would label him since he “has no name” but I also understand that Wookiepedia has updated his affiliation so Sith so 🤷🏽♂️
I am most interested in the past between Sol, Yord and Qimir. Was he a former Jedi? I'd presume so, but that could be interesting
Way to stay positive! I empathize with how difficult it might be.
A man used a headbutt to disable a lightsaber. 100/10 best Star Wars show after Andor.
When Jecki died I literally screamed and even my dad agreed that it was unexpected and he always figures out what is going to happen before I do
How many agree that Qimir isn't the master
I am the only one doubting Qamir is a Sith despite his vlaims to be? The plant in earlier episodes is to obvious and his wording on who he is is clumsy - Like he is either lying or someone (who is telling this episode) dont belive him.
And it way to early to reveal the big bad boss so he has to be a Aprentice at most.
But yes, Day and Night would have worked better together and even more if the Sith reveal would have overshadowed the Mundi debate last week. J.
My prediction is Qimir is the dad to Ocea and Maye.
Anyone heard the Kylo Ren theme?
To be honest I guessed Jecki was going to die. Not Yord though.
Oh yeah the tattoo! I forgot about that (and so did the writers apparently)
Pros: Fight choreography and Manny Jacinto's arms.
Cons: Death of Jecki
Those arms need their own credits.
I was so worried for Jecki...and yes, wowza I noticed the arms TOO!
She was low-key one of my favorites too. She got done dirty, but man, she put up a hell of a fight, and got to join with the force.
Manny jacinto as a sith is too hot
@@legendsofabhaileshe had to die then, or in a different episode, Qimir said it right, "shouldn't have brought her"
I think based on all of Qimir's lines...he would not be THE master, he is very clearly an apprentice himself. I suspect we will learn of his master in a very impactful way.
I can definitely see Qimir getting away at the end of the season and we think he won (for example, all the Jedi who saw him are dead) and then he meets someone else and gets one-shot. And the camera pans to show a bith.
@@ArakkoaChronicles Seeing Plagueis master or maybe even Plagueis himself already (depending on how old Muun get) in the end would be really badass
I think Qimir's master will kill him in the final episode, showing that his master, Tenibrous, has found a new apprentice called Plaugis
Yes! I was thinking this exact same thing. Even just revealing himself to the Jedi seems like something an amateur apprentice would do. That would also explain the helmet looking a bit silly.
yeah a Larger sith is at play he is an apprentice who seeks an Acolyte like he said Tennebrus Watch!!!
They broke his spinal yord 😔
2 other Jedi also became a sith kebab
The power of one, the power of two, the power of Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny................Jacinto.
Best comment for the whole show xD
You got a genuine chuckle out of me, well done.
This is a great comment 😂
I've been thinking that for weeks! 😆
Hell yeah! 👍👍🤘🤘🇵🇭
My thoughts on Qimir’s goal:
“You’re not trying to free people from under the boot of oppression. You just want to be the biggest boot.”
@@blackburn1489 so it's just "the Jedi are the evil oppressors"
@@DCPTF2 no. That’s what Qimir is arguing but it’s clear that he just wants to be the biggest boot
Manny Jacinto is so good at playing a bumbling lackey and an evil maniac. He stole this episode.
Couldn’t agree more. He KILLED it
So terrifying (and hot), such a good performance 😭
Agreed! Now I actually want to watch The Good Place because of his performance in this episode!
Much Ian McDiarmid before him
@@99jarjarbinks Oh, that's where I recognised him from
Qimir's quips were great this episode.
"She was a child"
"You brought her here"
and
"Why risk discovery"
"Well I did wear a mask"
I think it's hard to believe that Sol wouldn't know the difference between the two twins though, considering she has that face tattoo and presumably burnt hair. Maybe he knows but is okay with that.
the way he reffered to Jecki as "it" is cold too
I think sol is in shock state. And he has hall vision after his padawan and other jedi death
Jecki's fighting style with her lightsabers was amazing!!! I sad we won't get to see her character develop more
Qimirs goofy little “hello” and the “well I did wear a mask” are frightening because he’s still so charming
I'm going to need a whole episode on Manny Jacinto's arms.
I figured out I was straight just in time for this moment 🥴👍🏳️⚧️
@@conscientiousobjector5988 Nah, Qimir will be on to her fast if not already.
Remember that he could tell she wasn't Mae at their first meeting.
@@artfact2 Onto what? I never said he didn't know that is Osha. He said Osha *"looks"* just like Mae but that doesn't indicate much else about her beyond that.
And earlier in the episode he said "Jedi like you might call me a sith"
I have a feeling that Qimir might be a Knight of Ren, or maybe the first Ren
Smilo Ren just wanted to go for a walk and was asking the Jedi how's their health plan.
Apparently it was great.
I understood that reference
On a sidenote, yeah it absolutely feels like these episodes should be watched as pairs, not separated into weekly releases.

Day/Night: Always one but born as two (episodes).
Hum well I agree but also felt the suspens from last week’s episode was good. It worked for me anyway.
I think the series will have a very different feel when it’s finished and we can binge watch it 🙂
It should just be watched as a longish movie. Splitting this story up has been pretty detrimental to its enjoyability.

I also thought the use of the bugs was interesting.
In episode 4, only one died and Osha mourned its loss, yet here she sacrificed probably dozens of them to save herself and Sol, which seems like some type of foreshadowing to me.

"You don't get to hold up freedom as a virtue when your version of freedom oppresses everyone else" 👍👍
Oof I feel that. (Trans girl in Texas 🥲🏳️⚧️)
Good approach, makes a lot of sence
knight of ren would be really good. It avoids the plot issues with the sith rule of two, and it gives the spotlight to something that was never really elaborated on in the sequel trilogy
plus he totally looks the part with the weirdo helmet that all the knights seem to have
Kylo's theme also played in the episode
Hold on, he's onto something here.
I really don’t know why people are hating on this series. Does it have some things worth criticizing sure. But is it also very entertaining, YEA!

I loved those characters and would’ve wanted to see more but I think it was a pretty brilliant story twist
finally a video thats not a fake rage grift review
Omg sooo much happening in this one!!
1. Jecki going up against Smilo Ren reminded me of Ahsoka taking on Grievous and Ventress in the Clone Wars and absolutely NOT getting dominated, but instead just showcasing such insane talent, control, courage, and creativity for a padawan. Even Jecki’s smirk when she got dual sabers was just so badass😏 !! That said, the parallel made me feel like she wouldn’t win but she’d at least get away like Ahsoka and I gasped so loud when she didn’t make it 😩😭
I agree with all your points
There seems to be a trend of side characters stealing the shows: Young Leia in Kenobi, Luthen/Kino in Andor, and now Jecki and Yord.
All very well said. I do like Osha/Mae though, great actress and well written but I did care about Jecki (and maybe even Yord) a lot more. I never cared about Luke, to me he has always the least interesting character in Star Wars.
This episode was brutal... Never felt that bad since Rogue One. Still 3 episodes to go.
I think that he is not truly a Sith
He says that he has "No Name" and "You would call me Sith", to assume that anyone that uses a red saber is automatically a Sith
I'm more inclined to belive that he is a proto KoR between the mask, cape, obsession of being free and Kylo's motive at the end
