Tried it. Great!!! And I am really angry about myself: I've this device since years and obviously never thought about that - or read the manual. Thank you very much - this is why I'm buying RME: little tweaks that improve the customer's life... 🙂
The fact that every button can be reassigned is a big plus. However, for use as a monitor controller I have a better layout in mind. Maybe I'll build a prototype if I have some time. Being able to do so by controlling TotalMixFX via MIDI is another highly valued feature of RME products.
I bought it the second I got my RME, and it's wonderful... but it could be so much more :) I wish you had complete control over the lights under the buttons so you could use states like off, dim, bright to indicate stuff or just help to find the buttons in darker environments if they'd be dim when inactive and bright when active. Also, the thing needs much better fully fledged editor that allows you to do more complex actions to control and indicate stuff. I'd kill for MTC synced (through TM obviously) tempo blinking light or ability to have some buttons send midi-information without messing with the TM stuff... But anyway... if one has RME, they should have one of these.
I like to use snapshots to switch between different EQ curves for the monitors - e.g. a smiley one, a NS10 one or an Auratone one, low frequencies only, etc. I always have my headphones connected to speaker B and use snapshots for switching monitors which is quite nice and helps in supporting many monitors. But having the EQ curves I find myself using other monitors less and less - only a good room + flat monitors are needed, the rest can be simulated with TotalMix controlled by ARC.
Love it, wanna get one, but I have a question for you: if I use my Tascam US2400 digital mixer controller for controlling FxMix via MIDI, isn’t redundant to have an ARC unit?
Volume recall - awesome for keeping it consistent when you're mixing, and for dialling it back on those long sessions when you keep cranking the fader! Also the Mono button for quickly checking the mix will still sound good on a mono system.
Don't do it! What you'd gain in new(b) customer base you'd absolutely lose in customer support time. I feel it's a right of passage to learn to choose with your ears and your needs. Shit, you should make your stuff bright coral or puke green, or just fully chrome
Hey RME guys ! Im an adult learner and aspiring musician ! Ive recorded some demos on my kitchen table with my pos interface and need a new one to make better sounding stuff.... Please send me an RME UFX ii at your earliest convenience so I can advertise your gear as being my secret weapon ,and improve my sound !! 😜🎺🎶. I'd really appreciate it , and it what be a nice , generous thing to do...... I think....🤣😜😘
Received it free with my Fireface UFX II purchased through Sweetwater, use it constantly. Well done RME!
Answer: because it is the only one.
You can use OSC to control them, too

Love you guys -- RME for Life!!!

All I needed to see
Oh i love the shortcut, didnt know this!

Interesting points. I‘ll add them to the feature requests.
I wish we could open the audio interface window from it to quickly change buffer sizes
Interesting!

Have you tried out the ADI-2 series yet?
@@RMEAudio No, not yet - planning to get one for my mobile rig though.
You should! The ADI-2 series is pretty much what you are looking for.
@@RMEAudio By the way - do you have plans to add a mic pre to the ADI-2?
Dang. I have ARC long time and never new about Ext input. Doing this later thanks.
You‘re welcome :)
Can I toggle phantom power through the ARC?
Does it work when total mix is not active window?
Love it, wanna get one, but I have a question for you: if I use my Tascam US2400 digital mixer controller for controlling FxMix via MIDI, isn’t redundant to have an ARC unit?
Since the ARC gives you full access to your snapshots and many other key features of TotalMix FX, it surely it is not redundant to have both.
@@RMEAudio but aren’t snapshots midi mappable?
*Which tube-microphone is that, you are using?*
Did you know about this key command? What is your favorite feature?
That's a sneaky good idea with the on/off command. Going to steal that idea!
please do :)@@712Jefferson

its pretty cool, only want it in black😢😂
That's a pretty cool idea! Legibility however might be an issue ;)

:)
Can this be used with the ADI2 range?
I hated the volume control know on the RME babyface and this looks the same.
