If you are Christian, sometime our Lord let us goes through trials, then we can comfort and help others. And as our eyes become cleanse by the trails, the grace and power of our God becomes oblivious and clear. Then the feeling and intensity of our praise has been raised to a level that even billions and billions of angels cannot compared to just one of our praise to God !!
I love this song. I've been privileged to have performed it a few times. This is the most beautiful performance of this that I've heard. Seventeen years ago I went with a group on an evangelism training mission trip to Ukraine with several people and we took along the music to sing this. We left a copy of it with our new Ukrainian friends when we left. We returned a year later and they had translated it into Russian and performed it. It was beautiful.
Without a doubt one of the most worship-inspiring songs ever written! Praise our Father for leading Tom Fettke to pen such lyrics and music! I pray we can continue to sing this wonderful song of praise and worship when we gather together in the Heavenly choir one day!
This my favorite anthem of all time. I delighted and thrilled to be able to sing it on Trinity Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Norfolk, VA. Evelyn Robinson
A taste of what Heaven's choir would sound like, but on a much grander scale with endless harmonies of worship to our Great Father and His magnificent Son.
Sang this many, many years ago at the church where I grew up and my Dad was pastor. Now I am at a different Church but this brings back so many memories. I wish that I could find the sheet music so we could sing it at the church where I attend now! Hearing this, makes me feel nostalgic and a little sad at the same time. So much has changed since then in my life but what hasn't changed is the God that I serve and who has been faithful to me all of my life! So grateful that the Lord is "mindful of me"!
Thank you. You really don't know how much this means to me. I remember when this song was originally uploaded then went down. I am convinced and my mind will not be persuaded that this is in fact the best version of this song. Today, longing to hear this exact piece again I went in search on you tube. Finally getting discourage I prayed and said God please let me just see this video again. I am happy that I can testify by just calling on the Lord's name, I have witness "The majesty and Glory of
I think 11 people accidentally clicked the wrong thumb on this one. How fantastic is this performance! The conductor really knows his stuff, the choir's blend is excellent with no outstanding divas, and the orchestra was spot on. This is Moody Church you say? Judging from the meh applause earned from the audience at the end, I'd wager this sort of performance happens there all the time. Get up off your pews and shout an "Amen!" How could you not?
Thank you so very much for bring God's Holy Word to Life in this music. I believe this is my personal favorite hymn of all time. I have sung this many times and am filled with the Holy Spirit each time. HE IS GLORIOUS
Still in awe of this song and the choir. I remember long, long time ago there was a recording made at Moody Bible Institute where they did a "John W. Peterson" week. The music in it was phenomenal. Used to have the cassette tape 30 years ago and unfortunately I literally wore it out playing it. It had "Ring the Bells" and "Jesus Is Coming Soon" among other great ones. Might even write them one day to see if they have a copy. For that, I would be ever grateful.
I see just what you see. I also can see which singers are most moved by what they are singing. They are praising God. There are many who do that in this choir.
I can only listen to this piece with God’s Word in front of me opened to Psalm 8. I will always wonder how our Lord must feel when we sing His words back to Him. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Will never forget (and will never wanna forget) the woman on the top row (the second one, wearing the white shirt with glasses), her feeling and pronunciation she makes with both her face and head, while she is singing this piece. That, my friend, says it all. Awesome, truly awesome!
Dear Henry, It is so true and exactly my experiences too. You gradually know his works more and feel his greatness as time goes by and how small we are. Hallelujah, the Majesty and Glory of Your Name!!
Will repost this message since I realized I didn't put the time in the video. It was performed by combined choirs of Moody Church Choir and the Moody Chorale of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago on May 3, 2009 at the 'Choral Festival of Praise' celebrating 27 years of music ministry of Pastor Gerald Edmonds at Moody Church. This concert marked the retirement of Rev Edmonds both as the music pastor at Moody Church and professor of church music at MBI.
Oh my❤ I have loved Moody Church since 1955! Would love very much hearing Songs in the Night, but it airs very late at night from Pensacola Christian Radio. I have asked them to please change the time but they never respond. Is there a possibility that you have recorded the performances on Facebook or U-Tube.?

This is easily the most beautiful and worshipful song on RUclips.
Love it!

Very well done performance of the greatest choral anthem of this century.
Definitely THE best rendition of Fettke's work on youtube. Thanks for reloading it! I definitely missed it ;)
What a beautiful recording of my favorite choir song in the whole world, thank you so much for sharing :)
Praise to the Lord and our heavenly father! I am glad I downloaded the piece an re-uploaded again. It has over 25,000 hits after 3 years.
Thanks! It's unfortunate that the digital compression ruins the real beauty and nuance, but this is a good taste.

Linda Lee Johnson wrote the words, Tom Fettke wrote the music. I LOVE this song.
This is my most favorite version of this wonderful, anointed song.
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Timothy 4:18
