It's so good to see such a great work performed so well by a large group of musicians... who haven't ditched "traditional" church music. There are so many "horror" stories around about churches that ditched everything that wasn't P&W. Way to go folks!
This is one of the most beautiful praise and prayerful songs ever written and sung. Not too awfully far down from the Hallelujah Chorus. How it permits to praise our great and majestic heavenly Father/Christ/Holy Spirit with our voices and instruments!!! Perhaps a glimpse and tiny speck of what our eternal home may be like... in part. Completely wonderful job by all. We're doing it, (God enabling) this next Sunday morning. God bless you each and all, abundantly! Thank you for blessing me. Elle
The Lord must be extra pleased when we sing His inspired Word back to him so beautifully. Psalm 8 (ESV): O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Very. Music touches the soul and God has placed eternity in the hearts of man. It is not religion your soul is searching it is the relationship with God subconsciously it is seeking.I pray that the Lord Jesus makes Himself known to you some way somewhere unexpectedly. God bless!
Kudos, Choir!!! I understood Every. Single. Word!! This is one of my all-time favorite hymns, delighted to find it on RUclips, and SO blessed not to get the usual muddled audio! Hallelujah!!
Oh dear Aurora - you have it all wrong. First sopranos in a choir LIVE for songs like this. It gives us a chance to soar and send all our hearts to the heart of God!
blessings and praise to the majestic Lord and God of the Universe....he is full of Life and Love and Greatness and He alone is the one to be praised with our voices and lives. I love you Lord.
we are doing this tomorrow at our choir in Mount Sterling Kentucky and it sends chills up and down my spine when I hear the entire choir sing this song
Oh my God, I really miss my Seminary life as a special choir. This is one of our category during our 40 ssimo the concert to be lead by our Pride in the Seminary Msgr. Rudy Villanueva A very great composer in Cebu! really i tell you! if you want to check it out just search SCSC Special choir :)
Here are the lyrics to this amazing piece.: When I gaze into the night skies And see the work of Your fingers; The moon and stars suspended in space. Oh what is man that You are mindful of him? You have given man a crown of glory and honor, And have made him a little lower than the angels. You have put him in charge of all creation: The beasts of the field, The birds of the air, The fish of the sea. But what is man, oh, what is man that You are mindful of him? O Lord, our God, the majesty and glory of Your name Transcends the earth and fills the heavens. O Lord, our God, little children praise You perfectly, And so would we and so would we. Alleluia, Alleluia, the majesty and glory of Your name. Alleluia, Alleluia, the majesty and glory of Your name. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
I sang this in HS Choir every year...Dover High School 1992 under the direction of Ed Cargill. As kids we had better dynamics and diction. However they have more mature voices! They needed more crescendos and decrescendos!!!! But they were still good. Lastly, this is a very passionate song, but this choir found a way to sing this song in a non energized way.
Since Fred McNabb left as music minister Hyde Parks music just hasn't been the same. You had the best of the best. Linda at the piano, gone. And your famous organist. Now your church is dark like a night club and your worship team is......well let's just say they make a joyful noise unto the lord. Sad to see. This was once the church of all churches. And that's coming from a member of Bannockburn.
Absolutely gorgeous. I would have preferred a faster tempo though. Sopranos have a really nice tone on the high B flat. And a chilling low E flat from the basses. Really nice. ;)
This is a nice group and representation for a local choir. My only critique would be to the conductor. It's a shame the dynamics weren't more dramatic. When they are observed as written this piece just soars to a different height. Regardless, nicely done.
Where is this church located? Location was left out of the comments. I know of one in Austin. I like this song much better with a quicker tempo, but most people won't do it that way.
I'm very serious. Their singing does not convince me that they believe what they're singing. They're singing about god's majesty, but there singing is as dry as their facial expressions.
You really need to stop being so judgemental, how can anyone sing such a beautiful song and not mean it. Close up your box of criticism and join the choir.
What's going on with the dark-haired woman at 4:25? Why do they even have her in the choir? And for a church this large to have a keyboard instead of a real grand piano player? Not good, not good if the only reason is there's not enough room on stage. Sorry, but not a good version at all.

Oh this is heavenly...these are not human singing but angels in the presence of almighty God

Our (small) Baptist choir is singing this tomorrow. It gives me goosebumps when we sing it and tears of joy when I hear it sung. Thank You, Jesus!

とてもすばらしいですね。 感動しました。
I'm a pastor of Midorino Makiba Baptist Church in Japan.
Oh dear Aurora - you have it all wrong. First sopranos in a choir LIVE for songs like this. It gives us a chance to soar and send all our hearts to the heart of God!
my church sang this this morning! :) I felt so blessed to be a part of that.
Played that song today, I get chills everytime I play it!
Truly a worship-filled experience... thanks for sharing.

This is so magnificent! we did this at Bellevue in the 80s!!
we are doing this tomorrow at our choir in Mount Sterling Kentucky and it sends chills up and down my spine when I hear the entire choir sing this song
Amazing. I sang it about 30 years ago and it seems that was yesterday

que hermoso!
Not even religious, but I love church choirs for some reason. Is that normal?
Drake Travis, I agree with you, it gets my vote also.

May I share... I have been missing this wonderful song and you perform it so well.
Absolutely gorgeous. I would have preferred a faster tempo though. Sopranos have a really nice tone on the high B flat. And a chilling low E flat from the basses. Really nice. ;)
They look about as excited as I was when singing this lol
;////A////; So gorgeous.
semoga tim saya dapat membawakan lagu ini dengan nantinya
1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 3:19
good choir XD
Did John Rutter write this amazing anthem?
This is a nice group and representation for a local choir. My only critique would be to the conductor. It's a shame the dynamics weren't more dramatic. When they are observed as written this piece just soars to a different height. Regardless, nicely done.

Is this a special service, or is there usually a choir and orchestra?
I sang this song with my choir and loved it!
Oh, I didn't notice that about the cross... puzzling.
I think that was a dove in flight.
This is a beautiful arrangement, the delivery not so much. Do they believe what they're singing?
+TuskegeeFellow Are you serious??
I'm very serious. Their singing does not convince me that they believe what they're singing. They're singing about god's majesty, but there singing is as dry as their facial expressions.
has god done nothing for them? When ever I sing this anthem I am almost moved to tears.
You really need to stop being so judgemental, how can anyone sing such a beautiful song and not mean it. Close up your box of criticism and join the choir.
it sucks to be soprano 1 on this lol

Thanks for your comments. At the beginning on the the left of the screen you can see full grand piano. Keyboard is additional.
Seriously ? The Awesome message of this song comes in second to petty criticism?
