I’m def gonna start as a mage then sorcerer like DD1 lol . My second play through I’m doing the archer then magic Archer
I'll be playing as magick archer again. One of my favorite classes in all of fantasy rpgs.
Will definitely be playing MA alot, it's bound to be extremely powerful!
I'll be warfare because I need thief daggers to complete the ensemble.
@@gobro2688well, for warfarer you need to have unlocked all other vocations first.
Thief so i can steal my heart back from Greg.
I've been clicking on every newly uploaded video for DD2 & now I'm being bombarded by RUclips recommendations. I saw this video was uploaded 2 hours ago and I instantly clicked as a reflex😅
Thank you for keeping me in mind haha! Yeah same here, everybody's covering DD2 right now so it's a pain getting your videos out there in the vast sea of videos like these.
@@MrHulthen Your video was actually pretty informative! (I wrote my comment before watching your video). If you're going to keep covering DD2 with that much detail, especially on vocations, secret locations and bosses, and cool build setups, I may have to subscribe! My first playthrough will be without any guides so I can have an authentic, fresh experience, but I'll definitely be interested to see if I missed anything or see some cool builds etc. I'm just bored with all the other game releases, so DD2 has my attention 😄
The Vocations look so good, especially with the fact it seems like there might be more skills per Vocation now, even though they were split.
I think I'll go Archer to start since I loved it in DD1 and that's the closest in DD2, but I'm EXCITED with how mobile it seems it'll be and you can really seemingly fight at close and longer range. Plus, kicking stuff is a cool touch!
I'm making Kaladin and giving him the mystic spearhand vocation
Named “Kaladin” ? Or perhaps “Stormblessed” ?
@@mduckernz Bridgeboy, haha
I'm excited to play this game!
Me: *Laughs in one shotting Death as a Warrior*
Also, we DO know that Mystic Spearhand will get a shield ability that extends to pawns that negates damage taken
Since they have the wayfarer class that can play anything, you’d think that want you to level as all the class, so that in the end you can do ALL. I honestly think they should have stated how the leveling process works so we can make our plans, not just create character face!
They have. It’s all over the internet. Leveling isn’t like DD1. Your stats are specific to whatever you level. So if you max say, fighter then switch to sorcerer. All your Fighter stats will not carry over and you will be almost reset as the sorcerer until you max the sorcerer.
@@bhrispinigale5832 lol, read your last sentence, it makes no sense
@@petemisc4291 What part? I’ll break it down in simpler terms. Stats don’t carry over. If you max out the fighter vocation and switch to sorcerer, none of your stats from the fighter vocation will carry over to sorcerer. Every vocation has its own stat progression.
@@bhrispinigale5832 so you make it sound like if your a lvl20 fighter and you switch to mage, the mage will start at lvl1 and that’s not what others are saying. What others are saying is, if your a lvl20 fighter and you switch to mage, you will be a lvl20 mage with your stats distributed as if you had lvl’d the mage from the start(lvl1-20)
@@petemisc4291 That’s what I’m saying minus the starting from scratch part. I was wrong about having to start the levels over. I’m specifically trying to clear up, for example, you don’t have to level up archer for stamina bonuses to play say, thief.
Warrior was also fucked by being the slowest attacking melee class - and almost guranteed to get interrupted before getting it's big damage moves off. Socerer compared to Mage had the same problem as Warrior. Sorc has plenty of high damage moves - but the casting time is such bullshit that you're much less likely to be able to get one off before something turns you into a Scooby Snak. They added a ring as a quest item to counter this, but I never found it. They also say that having more sorcerers in your party negates the disadvantage with spell sync to an extent, but I could never get my pawns to cast the same thing I was. So it was a dumb con to add to a class that's meant to be the glass cannon in the first place, and there was really no effective mitigation. I will say however that Mage being the only one who could cast the healing spell was not smart. At all. And to top off; IF you thought playing as Sorcerer for more magic power and switching to Mage to play the game at max level was a good idea = it's not. The magic power stat has NO EFFECT on Anondyne. Whatsoever. So you're stuck with the base spell and one augment to make it just slightly better. Yippie.
I never really got into Dark Arisen but I did beat the True Ending of Dragon's Dogma (Which was nonsensical and a PITA) And I main Assassin. Why? A few reasons = most of which being why I'm massively pissed it's not in DD2. First - you can kill off your incessant pawns and their innane chatter, and be stronger for it. Next, invisible = Invincible. As long as you can maintain it. You can wipe entire screens of enemies without taking a lick of damage at higher levels. There's a countermove that means you don't even need invisibility with good enough timing. It's actually the highest Strength character in the game if you're into Min-Maxed playthroughs. Warrior did get the most HP, but boy howdy was it ever gonna need it...
They missed out with this new Beastren race; think about it. You make an assassin Beastren, lithe or not and take Black fur... then run around calling yourself "The Black Cat." (At least then everyone would finally be able to find it. Or would they, Mwhahahahahaha!)
Im trying to decide between mystic spearhand and ranger. I'm doing an assassin playthrough of the first game now so I want something different for DD2
100% Archer for me. Ever since D&D 2nd Edition, I've been in LOVE with the Ranger class and, by extension, all longbow proficient classes.
I think the magic archer not having melee weapons now might put a dent in its popularity
MC: sorc
3 pawns: 2handed warrior, healer mage, 2 dagger thief
doubt this comp will have any issues in the entire game if you're slightly competent or have played DD1
I will probably play the Mystic Spearhand or the Trickster.
I can see Warfarer as a late game use once you have learned multiple vocations.
This video is perfect for someone like me who has never played Dragon's Dogma 1. I usually always go for the "unga-bunga" class that swings the biggest weapons, and wears the heaviest armor, but Mystic Spearhand looks absolutely fun as Hell. That's the class I'll be using the most.
I still confused! In DD1, you played vocations up to a certain lvl and switched in order to min/max your strength, stamina and hp before settling on the final build, but now everyone is saying that DD2 you don’t have to do that, so does that mean that regardless of your vocation all the stats will rise equally?
Yes
I sure hope so.. DD1's leveling system sucked balls.
when you swap vocations your stats swap to that vocation as if you leveled it the entire time.
@@KiazaKadaj ah! Ok, so now you just need gold to buy the new skills and have the gear to put on that new vocation character, dam, the gear management is going to be a nightmare if you plan on switching often.
@@petemisc4291 You buy skills not with gold but with discipline points :3
I loved Elden Ring very much, but one thing I felt always hindered it was the combat (unpopular opinion). R1 R2 and each weapon having a special ability seemed bland to me. This game is what I’ve been waiting for with combat that looks so unique and many options.
So mystic spear hand is basically a force user lol
Good afternoon, sir! 👋🏽😃
Heya Bronwyn!
Fighter all the way lol gotta tank and shield bash is fun
I see no reason not to play them all, since there are no stat growth min-maxing requirements anymore.
Indeed!
Since there is static stats. There’s no reason not to try them all.
Well, I always play as Fighter in Capcom’s Dungeon and Dragon the Arcade, so………..
Sadly won't be picking this game up in the first week of release, as I need to get my PC upgraded to a better graphics card and a larger SSD.
Oof, well atleast you're in for an even better experience at the end of the day :D
Well.. hopefully we can pick just one. The leveling system in DD1 is trash imo, and you were missing out if you didn't play more than 2 or 3 of them. It killed a lot of the roleplaying enjoyment for me.
Stats will reallocate themselves whenever you switch vocations so you don't have to worry about messing up your stat growth because of your vocation like in the first game. HOWEVER, since cross-class augments are still a thing, you'll be kinda nerfing yourself if you don't at least play other vocations long enough to unlock the augments that synergize well with your build
I just hope my microwave laptop can run this😭
Quite a bit of misinformation in here. Not trying to harp on you but I feel if youre making content about a game or just a content creator in general, you should brush up on the facts of what you’re making content about. That way it eliviates the issue of players (new and old) being confused or spreading more misinformation.
Mystic Spearhand does have a block and a parry skill. Trickster isn’t a tank and more the epitome of a support class next to mage. Focusing more on buffing your pawns and confusing/redirecting your enemy with the illusions.
There is no source that says Spearhand has access to block & parry. That's Mystic Knight (the old Vocation).
Trickster? Sure, it has support abilities but according to various people who've tried it out, it's very much a tanky Vocation through the help of the Simulacrum.
Feel free to provide a source to that Spearhand quote, because i have not been able to find anything about a Parry or Block for the Spearhand.
