Regarding battery life, just keep the battery-save mode ENABLED AT ALL TIMES. The chips in these phones are too fast for you to notice bottlenecks even when in power-save mode. You get x2-3 battery life with diminishing returns. Plus, on battery-save mode you get less unimportant notifications/distractions.

I mean.. just try it and compare cycles with and without batterysave mode.
My style is this:
Alert when phone at 20% to charge it.
Alert when phone is at 78% to stop charging it.
Perma power-save mode.
Ultra save-mode when phone < 15%
One of the best phones of this year considering that they offer a flagship like performance and I also agree with the camera criticism considering that they do not add 4K video recording for the selfie camera. Overall this is a huge improvement from other F series phone considering this retain the headphone jack and I am just only hoping that they try to use the larger speakers of F4 GT as basis for their speakers design.

I've been using this phone for a month, while still using my old Poco X3 Pro occasionally. The difference between both phones' performance is big(granted I used my X3 Pro for more than 2 years, so performance should be lower). I wasn't used to F5 amoled screen colour initially because compared to X3 Pro bright colours, this one feels dimmer for me. It has headphone jack unlike the F5 Pro which doesn't, so I get the base F5. Social media browsing is a big improvement, Genshin Impact can properly maintain 60fps on the F5 unlike the X3 Pro where it struggles in maintaing the fps. Everything is a +, except the battery is less than the X3 Pro, so both phone lasts for almost same time when gaming(4 hours+ for Genshin, 5 hours+ for Mobile Legends super refresh rate, high graphics). Overall, apart from the same battery, everything else was a major improvement. 9/10 phone. It's a extremely value phone to buy, if you can accept miui(or install custom ROM) and the occasional minor bugs of the phone. As for price, I bought the 12gb Ram 256gb storage option for only RM981.64 after discounts, insane value
I got a poco f5 pro fora month thinking that it could replace my iphone. But in the end i didn't want to ditch the iphone yet so i sold the f5 pro. I bought an f5 non pro to be my secondary phone. I think it will have the exact same performance for non-gaming stuffs. Ive had f3 f4 and 11t pro with sd860, 870 and 888 but the sd 8 gen 1 and up are better options. So for my purpose i think this 17k f5 will be right

hello, very great review. you covered all the aspects of the phone, thank you! but regarding the new update, is it true that the cpu got weakened by the update? it was stable back then when in the cpu throttling test, but after the update it went down very fast to 59% of its max performance? is this something to be concerned about
I based the performance on real world use, not synthetic benchmarks. As far as I can tell, the performance has stayed the same.

My poco x3 pro can run the game pretty smoothly but damn the fps drops to like 20-29 whenever I do cocolia. I've watched some gaming tests but I cant really trust them since they all got different results. Thanks in advance
no noticeable FPS drops in Cocolia (played earlier today in SU, not the Echoes of War version) , default HSR settings (High) @ 60fps

The SoC is a beast, screen is pretty nice, for the battery - turn off the RAM extension, it drains a lot
7 gen 2 is par with 8 gen 1 and right now Flipkart is offering a fantastic deal on poco f5, they are offering extra 3000 off if you exchange your old phone which brings down poco f5's price to around 24k (depending on your exchange phone value).
The only drawback about poco is the mother board issue which is stopping me from buying poco f5.

If Poco will ditch the macro sensor and use 12 mp ultrawide on the Poco F6 while 4k all across the main and uw, that'll be a big improvement from F5. However, the camera quality is quite good still on Poco F5.
Who even use macro its a waste of money as you said better ultrawide is the good choice than puting usless macro that no one use
@@sawyiier4870 Amusingly enough, the main camera on the F5 produces better looking details via zoom then the junk macro camera they included. They could also improve the speakers. Great phone overall though.

I have a Redmi note 10 pro and I use it to upload videos to Tiktok using the selfie camera, you recommend changing it for a Note 12 pro plus, or a "POCO" F5 or a Samsung A54. This cell phone is my main tool and I also use it to edit videos, multimedia and tasks that require editing and to which I would appreciate better performance. Is the Samsung worth it just for the cameras? Or the computing power of the F5 is a better option

Definitely worth it. You're buying extra 2 years lifespan of a phone when you go for the F5.

Got the poco F5 and it was good everything is fine, its a major upgrade for me especially i came from P20 😅
Same went from a p30 pro to a poco f5. Loved the p30 pro but sadly it started dying well the display atleast. Quite happy with the poco f5 thou it is significantly faster. The cameras are worse but it doesn t bother me much.

@@RenzoClaros I had a poco F1 prior it owning the poco F5 and I didn't face any delay in notification.... I've noticed the delay in notification in f5 just yesterday 🥲🥲I was using WhatsApp desktop in which msgs were shown instantly but phone took solid second or two to show it

So I should spend 50 euros more to get this over RN 12 pro+ ? Camera, build quality and charging speed (this one is not bad it's just insane on RN) have put me into thoughts.
Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is not value for money at all. You can get a much better experience with a custom rom (if you want to) and better Cameras with GCAM because of The Snapdragon chipset and Mediatek devices don't have good Gcam and custom rom support. So the cameras will be better on the F5. And the build is better on Note 12 Pro Plus. I have used the Note 12 Pro and the Speakers and build quality is better than my F5. But it is way ahead in performance compared to Note 12 Pro and a bit ahead in cameras. (Though the selfies aren't good even on Gcam)
@@dontknowwho2007 first of all thank you for your input! The custom rom is out of the question because i lack the knowhow. however your input on the camera is interesting . so poco with gcam is better than RN12pro+ with gcam ? and the difference in speakers is it that big ?
funny thing is i use a redmi note 8 (2018) right now so either phone would probably be a great upgrade for me
@@mrhahngreekfan Yes you heard it right The cameras on Poco F5 are very similar to the Note 12 Pro+ when we compare the stock camera (the default miui camera). But when you install Gcam on the F5, the camera takes a lead. And trust me even if the cameras weren't good you should Buy the F5 then too. Cuz you are Getting UFS 3.1 Storage and LPDDR5 Ram and The 7+ Gen 2 with over 1.1 million antutu scores and the Note 12 Pro+ scores 4.5 lakh to 5.5 lakh antutu scores which is way less compared to F5. And no the difference between speakers is not that much, it is just the bass is slightly more on the Note 12 Pro Plus. And they both provide 3.5mm jack with Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio. So the output with that would be the same. And trust me the specs and scores mentioned above really make a huge difference in terms of experience and battery life is just awesome.
Edit:- Note 12 Pro is better value for money than the Note 12 Pro+.
In short, Poco F5>Redmi Note 12 Pro>Redmi Note 12 Pro+
And also yes, the Poco F5 with GCAM will be better than Note 12 Pro+ with GCAM (but the Gcam will not be much stable with the Note 12 Pro+ because it has A Mediatek Chipset)

the only thing holding me back on buying it is the MIUI itself. It's gotten ok even for low end midrange like the POCO X3(current phone) this past updates but it's still not for me mainly because of bad experiences and lack of features. It's like stock android but kinda unstable

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo same as the Poco F5 but cheaper. Now on sale for $249. I bought the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ for $299. Over 1 month ago. To replace my Poco X3 GT had it for over 2 years. I'm thinking about buying the Redmi Note 12 Turbo now on sale for $249. Or the Redmi K60 for $299. As a second phone.

Bought this phone as a replacement to my Samsung A24 (Secondary phone) because that one sucked ahh. My main phone is the iPhone 14 Pro Max but now I find myself using the Poco F5 more for daily tasks and gaming, and only using my iPhone for photos and watching content (better speakers and 4k).

Been using poco f5 for already a month and now i notice it heats a lot when using data like it goes up from 44 up to even 48 degrees in just few seconds like wtf. I'm still using the previous miui version.

no, it does not heat to much, even when you are gaming for hours. So if you are scared of the heating problem, go buy it, there is none.

1:43 Poco F3 can still handle all of this with ease, only issue with that device is the cameras aren't amazing and the storage fills too quickly

Is it better to buy the Poco F5 than the Redmi Note 12+ ? Both offers the same ram and storage but I am a very hardcore mobile gamer. I'm currently using a Samsung A32 although it's great, the display settings isn't even ultra. Other than the Redmi and Poco, I'm also considering Samsung A54 and iPhone 11. Can you help me pick which phone I should get?

It's actually up to you because the realme got china roam(which have so much chinese bloatware) while the poco f5 is globally launched(which means it has local warranty

I've lost alot of faith in Xiaomi in the last couple years. They've really been pulling sketchy crap with updates on phones with shipping alot of phones with android 12 and only offering 1 update etc. Even moto is mad passing them by lately with their phones are just really damn good with update plans and much better features.

Video recording is better on Poco F3. That segment is disappointed. Screen on F3 is slightly better, but performanse and battery is strong side Poco F5.
