      True, but the original players of France are still not playing the main 6, N'Gapeth, Clevenot, Chinenyeze, Boyer, Le Goff, Patry and others. Some of the teams don't have their star players yet. But Japan can win all of them, no shot.

    Before, Team Japan only had Ishikawa and Nishida, along with a solid libero. They lacked pipe attackers to cover when the two best attackers were playing in the wing or open positions. Additionally, they lacked solid blocks and were a little bit weak on the middle man side. Now, they have all aspects covered solidly. Ishikawa and Nishida are supported by Ran in the pipes, and they have a solid libero. Their blocks have improved immensely, and their middle men have also improved. Team Japan is strong this year. Awesome job filling those gaps! Also, watch out for rising new bloods like Miyaura. They need to give him more exposure on the court.
    I think I am gonna cry if Japan is crowned vnl champs this year. They have come a long way.

Yanagida, Fukuzawa and Takahashi have also been excellent and consistent hitters. I do agree that theyve upped their blocking game like crazy and almost all are big servers, so its rounding them out in a really powerful way now. But it was def more than just Yuki and Yuji before

    Coach Philippe Blain (Japanese Men's Head Coach) is France native so playing against his country is very sentimental. He played in 1984 - 1987 on the France National Team and during 1988 Olympics. He was an outside hitter for France which makes sense since you noticed current Japanese team is producing amazing offensive tactics. Coach is the mastermind behind Japan's recent rise in offense. Now, Japan always had great defense, but offense is a big new thing. VERY EXPLOSIVE!

I love the way they play... there is a lightness in each gestural articulation, which makes the task easier, they have a "con", which is that they are "low structure", in compared to the other teams, in physical terms they are also at a lower level. However, the way they play, with friendliness, lightness with which they touch the ball, concentration and wanting to defend the colors of the flag, are the key to this success. Of course, there are other excellent teams, but none of them play like that, with such "lightness".

      Its actually quite arrogant of the french team to send only its back up players (except tillie) for this leg of the tournament. Its like saying their opponents do not deserve to play with their best squad and that they can easily win against their opponents even with just their bench players. Well, they have a 1-3 record now, so congrats (?) to the french i guess...

      @@drjowjow It's not arrogance. It's tactics. VNL is not important in terms of international competitions, so it's more trouble than it's worth for countries like Brazil and France to field their A team, risk injuries and let their opponents collect data they'll use against them in priority matches. Especially with Olympics around the corner, it would be downright foolish to field anything but a B or C team and let younger players gain some experience. If Japan's bench was deep enough they would 100% be doing the same thing.

    • @aianjimenez7574
      @aianjimenez7574 Год назад +11

      @@user-ef1xv2qi3kyou can say that VNL is not an important tournament, but, that was back then. It's different now. Every win-loss in the VNL now affects team's world ranking, and because the only qualifying tournament for the next Olympics is the 2023 World Cup, points racked up during the 2023 and 2024 VNL will determine the rest of the qualified teams for Paris 2024. I guess the only reason France sends its Team B (or you could say mixed team because some players are part of their team A though not the usual first six) is because they now have a slot for Paris 2024. OTOH because of strategic reasons, some teams rest their star players early on in the games so they are only sending their mixed teams.

    Great game, Japan! I wouldn’t say that France lost because their starting 6 were not playing, but I truly think Japan has made some great strides this season. Last World Champs they have managed to get toe to toe with the French starters, but this season they have elevated their game. Keep fighting, RJN!

    KENTO MIYAURA!!!!!!!! He definitely got some hang time like NISHIDA! France definitely studied on NISHIDA because he was getting blocked so it was a great choice from Coach Philippe Blain to switch Nishida out for Miyaura. Also, the new setter (I don't know his name) is good too. I wished they would put #5 Otsuka in. He's my favorite on the Japanese team.

  • @WayAlpha101
    @WayAlpha101 Год назад +8

    French team really strategised, and the heavy block focus on Nishida and the outside hitters was obvious. MBs really shined this game as a result, and pipes were ran more often since they established Middles and didn't feed Nishida as many reds as normal. Then once Miyaura was on a roll, his reds were hit at a cross-court instead of Nishida's line shot.
    Fantastic strategy by both sides!
    I would have liked to see more Tillie plays here too, he really led his team through example!

    • @5thbasicneed62
      @5thbasicneed62 Год назад +1

      True but honestly I don't think it was France's strategy that stopped Nishida. There were at least 3 out of system attacks where Nishida hit hard and right into the block so it was more like him not willing to try other scoring method like tipping and such. Also France overall blocking timing is just too good if not the best
