Carbquik is a staple in my kitchen. I made up my own bread recipe for my breakfast sandwiches or any other sandwich 'bread'. I even add a little sweetener to make pancakes out of the batter. I use the Dash flat griddle. Take 4 eggs and 1/2 c of the carbquik and I use a hand blender as the carbquik tends to lump up a little bit. I spray the griddles with a lil avocado spray. Sometimes I sprinkle cheese on the griddle first. The perfect thickness is using a 1/8 c and when you pour the batter on the Dash griddles use the bottom of the 1/8 c to spread it evenly. You can microwave this bread and it will never dry out or get hard. Works great for my breakfast sandwiches cz I microwave them right from the freezer and add butter and some sugar free syrup on top. Fantastic!
Just made this and all I can say is OMG!!! Delicious!!! After I baked it I did let it sit for 30 minutes to thicken, due to a comment stating theirs was soupy. It did the trick and it did thicken. Thank you so much for this recipe.
I'm glad that you are using rotisserie chicken... my first choice for this.. actually my grocery store sells the day old ones at a discount.. even better.
I know it has been years since this post... but I am amazed how many people complain about everything, especially the soup. My God it will be diluted into a 13X9 pan! MSG comments (nothing wrong with it - proven fact), complaints it is not authentic. The list goes on. This recipe and falls into low carb (Not KETO). People please, the recipe is good. Stop complaining and look for a different recipe if you don't like. The man did a great job and lowered the massive amount of carbs in the old fashioned recipe.
OMG! This is an awesome recipe. I made these for lunch and I will never make plain old tuna salad again. This went straight into my favorite recipe folder! Thank you , Papa G!
I normally check out a few different recipe post before I find one I want to try. This was the first one I looked at & don't need to look at any others. I'm making it this weekend & can't wait to taste it.
It’s March, 2020; we’re sheltering in place and cooking up some Papa G ☕️ comfort food! 💪🏼 I’m making this recipe with canned chicken, but as a bonus I’m using homemade bone broth 🐔 Keep boosting our morale by making your tasty videos & stay healthy, my friend! 🦠 🥊💨
I made my own version of this and it’s in the oven now. I used a chicken gravy mix in hot water and some heavy cream instead of using cream of chicken soup. Hopefully it turns out nicely. Thanks for the idea!
I have made this a few times and it's really good. Suggest you use unsalted chicken broth or it can taste a bit salty. Thanks for making this a go to meal!
I made this dish tonight and just took it out of the over. It is delicious!!! I have enough to have 5-6 meals. will try to freeze some later after it cools down
Hi, Papa G! I’m new to your channel, and love your videos! I have a quick question for ‘ya! I live alone and was wondering if you’d share your ideas on the best way to cut the recipe in half. Should I use two 8”x 8” casseroles and freeze one, then cook it off later? Or, should I just make it as directed and freeze the leftovers? Do you think leftovers of this dish would freeze well? It looks delicious, by the way! You’re a very good cook and a good teacher, too! Thanks!
Hi, Papa G! I decided to make the entire recipe, and it’s absolutely delicious and so easy to make. I think next time I’ll just make biscuits and use the “soup” as a sort of gravy. I’m crazy about mushrooms, so I added those. So yummy! By baking biscuits instead of dumplings, I think that it’ll be fresher and more leftover friendly. But, this is one very awesome dish, however you decide to treat the dumplings. Thanks so much!
I'm curious, you mentioned the dumplings aren't leftover friendly, what happens to them in the fridge? I'm interested in making this haha I LOVE dumplings. 😊
I noticed that you don't post any macros, esp the carb count (total &/or net), but I'm just curious about the can chicken soup, is it not full of carbs? And the CarbQuick I'm not very familiar with. But this does look scrumptious and the dumplings are fairly small so it must be low carb.
Hi Judy! Yes, the whole can of soup has 21.5g carbs and the carbquik adds 6 additional net carbs total. Add a little for the other ingredients and divide by 4 servings and it's approx. 7 and a half grams of net carbs. I started putting the macros in my descriptions on my newer recipes to help with those who are closely following macros. I hope this helps. Thanks for the support Judy!
I made this and it was DELICIOUS and easy! My dumplings tasted great and held together but were mushy instead of firm. Do you have any idea what I did wrong? Also no matter what I make there are little hard chunks in the car quick even if I blend it.
Problem: Cream of chicken soup has 22.5 net carbs. Solution 1: make your own cream of chicken with Carbquik, mixed with mixture of chicken stock, butter, and chicken flavored bouillon. Solution 2: You can also use the veloute recipe on the Carbquik box (look for it under the Turkey Pot Pie recipe on the back of the package).
Just made this recipe! I pressure cooked my own chicken and I just used two spoonfuls of sour cream to replace the cream of chicken soup and added small chunks of cream cheese throughout and it was delicious!!
If you're wanting to reduce the carbs, I would say no. Heart Smart Bisquick has 26g of net carbs per 1/3 cup and Carbquik has only 2g net carbs per 1/3 cup.
I thought about that when I made it. I think it may be too wet to have the texture, but that's just an opinion. If you try it let me know how it works.
Protein powder mixed with water into a pasty dough. For the soup, mix equal parts heavy whipping cream with chicken broth and 2oz of cream cheese. It’s basically a veloute. Check your Betty Crocker cookbook for the basic procedure.

Just made this, tasted great, more of a chicken dumpling thick soup, fantastic, even my skeptical wife enjoyed it.Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks Mike!

I prepared this today and it’s another WINNER!!!! Many thanks Papa G👏☺️
I forgot to whisk to get rid of clumps before adding water, but this is in the oven now. Very excited to try!
Oh! How much of the mixture was in your bowl for the macros? 1/8?
You hold the torch Papa G, real thanks 🙂🤝
Looks amazing. We'll definitely try next week!

Made this dish tonight. It is packed full of flavor! Thanks
I've been putting off buying Carbquik but now I will have to. Can't wait to make this!
I made my own version of this and it’s in the oven now. I used a chicken gravy mix in hot water and some heavy cream instead of using cream of chicken soup. Hopefully it turns out nicely. Thanks for the idea!
TaraBoo, how was it with the cream instead of soup? 😋
@@GypsyWolfGinadelicious! I've made it several times since. 😊
@@tarabooartarmy3654 I must try it now lol.
I have made this a few times and it's really good. Suggest you use unsalted chicken broth or it can taste a bit salty. Thanks for making this a go to meal!

I never thought about doing this in the oven but now that I saw you do it is a very very good idea!
Thanks for making this. Sounds so good!! Where do you buy Carbquik?
Amazon, though some people can find it at Walmart- not me.
I made this dish tonight and just took it out of the over. It is delicious!!! I have enough to have 5-6 meals. will try to freeze some later after it cools down

Wow you're creative!
Thanks so much! thanks Jennifer
Thank you very kindly!
Looks super yummy. Thanks!
To save some carbs you could make homemade low carb cream of chicken soup. It's easy and worth decreasing the carb count.

Hi Marita. My personal preference is to make the whole thing and refrigerate or freeze the remaining for later.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try!
@@maritawallace5510 I do that too, Marita. Make the whole thing and refrigerate for leftovers over the next few days. I cook for 1 usually.

+GOING GONZO - KETO DIET believe it or not, I think my favorite recipe is the pecan pie. I don't know why. I really don't have a sweet tooth.

Just made this recipe! I pressure cooked my own chicken and I just used two spoonfuls of sour cream to replace the cream of chicken soup and added small chunks of cream cheese throughout and it was delicious!!
Looks delicious and easy to prepare. Do you think I use this method for dumplings if I cook on stove top?
+Rusha Robinson maybe if you use something like a Dutch oven...
Thanks for the recipe. Love your voice:) However, canned cream of chicken soup has to many carbs:(
Could try seasoned chicken broth. The flour in the dough should thicken it.
Why did you reply if it is to low carb for you
Can this be cooked on top of the stove like a traditional dumplings?
Looks really good 🤔 not sure how carbquick would react with my sugar
Papa G you're the best!!!!!!
Thank you Didi!
Delicious
I am using your recipe but tweeking it, using left over turkey and sustituting miracle noodles for the dumplings.
Looks good but I can’t do the wheat 😢
Go almond flour
is there anyway to use almond flour instead of the carbquick?
Thinking the same
Peas added would kick it up a notch 🙂
You sound like a white Morgan Freeman.
Thanks! ...I think..lol.
Hahahaha.....I know right! So sexy he sounds. like a southern gentleman. I can't wait to try this recipe!!
faceious2006 I love Morgan Freeman! Your response is priceless!
Shut up 🤣🤣 I can't un hear it now 🤣
White Morgan freeman
What are the macros for this?
Looks good! I'll need to try this :)
Thanks Michelle! It's very easy to make. I hope you enjoy!
What are the macros?
Recipe makes 4 servings. Each serving: ~300 calories / 20.3g fat / 7.5g net carbs / 30g protein
Omg I gotta try. I always thought cream of chicken wasn’t lowcarb
Papa G you are absolutely awesome! thank you ,thank you & thank you! 👍
I made this and it was good but my dumplings ready beaver set up. They were like grits....not dumplings. But it had a good taste.
Can we use the Heart Healthy Bisquick in replace of Carb Quick
If you're wanting to reduce the carbs, I would say no. Heart Smart Bisquick has 26g of net carbs per 1/3 cup and Carbquik has only 2g net carbs per 1/3 cup.
Thank you I've ordered a box.
What’s Carbquick?
Is that baking mix really keto?
Just a note, you probably already know this, I save the rotisserie bones to add to my next pot of chicken bone broth.
Patricia Vincent yes! Very nice!
I do that as well makes awesome broth I have some right now and have been hungry for dumplings or noodles .
Delish!
What if you don't have access to carbquick?
AeonSaint you can purchase it on Amazon... I have also seen it online at Walmart- you also have to order it online to store pick up.
Can you use fathead dough?
I thought about that when I made it. I think it may be too wet to have the texture, but that's just an opinion. If you try it let me know how it works.
Papa G's Low Carb Recipes I will thanks.
This guy sounds like the white version of Morgan Freeman hahaha, that and the recipes look amazing
+MAZEofmystery Lol
Thanks!
Papa G can you just come narrate days? :)
YUMMO!!!
Msg in rotisserie
I'm gonna try it, but will have to find a substitute for the canned soup. Full of msg and other not so good things.
Did you try this?
I just used two spoonfuls of sour cream to replace the cream of chicken soup and added small chunks of cream cheese throughout and it was delicious!!
How do you make the dumplings?
👍

Is carbquick keto?
Yes
Pure Keto has NO grains. Carbquick is a wheat derivative - so no, I would not consider CarbQuick keto - just low carb/Atkins style
Carbquik has always knocked me out of keto.
Looks absolutely awesomely delicious. roseingeorgia
Low carb but how much fat .?
I calculated 141.28g fat for the entire recipe. I divided the recipe into 4 servings... so approx. 35.32g of fat per serving. Hope this helps.
wow such a lazy recipe lols, cant make it tho since i dont have alot of those pre-made ingredients....
Any recipe that requires me to go buy some specific product is a definite thumbs down 👎🏽
What’s the macros on this shit?!!
Hi Maddox. It's in the front of the video. Recipe makes 4 large servings at 282 calories; 7.5g net carbs; 30g protein per serving.
How about using wheat-free ingredients!!! The soup and Carbguick have wheat! I am celiac and cannot have this!!!!!!!
Protein powder mixed with water into a pasty dough. For the soup, mix equal parts heavy whipping cream with chicken broth and 2oz of cream cheese. It’s basically a veloute. Check your Betty Crocker cookbook for the basic procedure.
Idk where you're from, but this is NOT how chicken and dumplings are made.
Jennifer Villegas he’s keto sooo obviously.
Rotisserie chickens not healthy.
Soup has wheat in it That's what you call dirty Keto. Sorry.
