It's simple, but the thing is you need a good blender or food processor. Otherwise, you might burn them out easily!

It is pretty easy, but extremely time consuming. You really need to have a lot of patience when making it. At first it will seem like you’re making nothing more than nut meal, but if you just keep going with the process you will eventually end up with butter. You will need to stop the food processor every few minutes to scrape down the sides.

Yummy looking. I didn't know you could do that. I guess it just requires a lot of processor time. I love nuts - all kinds but have crummy dentures with which you can't chop down on nuts. So, I remove them and spoon almond butter into my mouth, and eat it plain. Yum! (and probably good for ya)

I tried making this but it didn't come together. I've been soaking and drying my nuts and seeds for better digestion. I think this might have affected the amount of oils in the nuts, so it wouldn't come together. Just a heads up. I'll try it again with unsoaked nuts. Thanks, Dana!

    • @pumpkinomom4446

As it keeps blending, the natural oils release from the nuts and that's what makes it creamier and more liquidy versus hard to spread. That's the theory anyway. Hopefully the food processor does the job :)

Just when I was looking on how to make homemade peanut butter chips, which required nut butter. I had just bought Reese's peanut butter chils from Walmart, twice! Last night they were $4 for a bag of 7oz! And then today I found a bag of 10oz for $2.89! The disrespect and audacity of the store! 😮 Never again will I buy from store, thank you for this video! I have all the ingredients at home.

  • @hopecox

So I've tried this with my KitchenAid food processor and it's something about the blade hovering a micrometer too far above the bottom of the bowl. As the nuts blend a little past the breadcrumbs stage, they get stuck underneath the blade and the blade's momentum can't pick them up anymore and they won't keep blending. I'll run the blender for 15 to 20 minutes and the blade just hovers spinning in thin air and the nut mixture doesn't go anywhere regardless of if I mix it up and scrape the sides every now and then. It's quite sad considering the food processor is $400. :( I'll have to try the Cuisinart one that you're referring to. Thanks for sharing!

Are you sure you didn’t add a little vegetable oil in that last step? Looks a little liquid for being just nuts even if done with a professional nut grinder. Perhaps I just need to run mine longer in the cuieeze. Looks awsome! Thank you for video. I like adding vanilla and a spoon of sugar but pure nut butter is awesome too.

Hi! Sorry it gave you trouble. The minimum will depend on the size of your food processor, but we find 3 cups is best with a 7-8 cup food processor. We let them cool briefly.
