All I did so far is make my own mayo, dropped sugar and replaced with monk fruit. Bought Dave's powered bread, and killed all my creamers and replaced with organic half and half from organic valley. My favorite peanut butter is Teddie All Natural made in Everett, Massachusetts. It is available in smooth, crunchy and organic. It contains peanuts and salt. I pre-mix it before opening the jar by placing it upside down a few day before opening. Then after a day I turn it right-side up for a day. If I have time, I'll repeat this. I must do very little mixing when I open the jar. Sometimes [if it has been in a warm place] no mixing at all. Then I store it in the refrigerator where it will not separate again.

*Easy solution to the oil separation:*
    1. Heat the nut butter until runny.
    2. Empty into a mixing bowl and mix at high speed with hand mixer until totally smooth and aerated.
    3. Pour back into jar & keep refrigerated.
It wont separate again as long as you keep it cold. The small bubbles will make it easier to spread than normal peanut butter and you won't be using as much so it will cut down on the carb count slightly.
    You're welcome.

Reading comments I havd not understood why people do not want to stir peanut butter ...
Oil is part of a good peanut butter 🥺 of course there is oil
      We need the oil.
God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it
And God declared it is GOOD..
God did not put crap in our foods ..man has free will given by GOD to do Good or choose his way ...this is why we have more cancers today and more diseases !! The human body cannot process this junk ..cells say " this does not compute " !!!
Because the body cannot process the junk stays in and go round and round ..builds up wreaks havoc over and over eating this way inflammation continuous builds inflammation is the root of all sicknesses and diseases , cancers, diabetes, autoimmune disorders..high Blood pressure, tumor growth etc
This is how we know TRUTH
Did God put chemicals in foods ..NO BECAUSE God said
      Isaiah 55
      King James Version
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
      I always share with shoppers
If the label has a long list..put is down. !! It is chemical filled ..shouldn't have anything but main ingredients
      A Natural preservative is Vitamin E & C
Thos can be observed is some cereals
      God bless You All
God Bless Bobby thank you for your videos helping our populations to realize the FDA is not our friend...but government ...the sad thing is those apart of the F.D A. EAT this stuff and believe it is safe

You are spot on with your nutritional advice for healthier food choices! Glad you are such a popular platform to get this information out there. However, on the topic of oils, your leading caution should be to avoid/dramatically decrease Omega 6 oils and explain that is why you are indicating corn, soy, canola, cottonseed, safflower and peanut oils. All of your stated rationale for eliminating them is valid. However, the most important one is the inflammatory effect on our bodies with Omega 6 oils that the Big Agri/Pharma industry shoved at us when they falsely accused butter and meat of causing heart disease. The same is true of the refined carbs, fat is not the enemy, refined sugar and flour carbs are. Our immune system is weakened with the elevated level of Omega 6 oils due to inflammation, particularly from the over indulgence in fast foods which are drenched in refined coatings and fried in toxic oils. Hence, the increase in mood disturbances, cognitive difficulties, and all the chronic pain and diseases ending in "itis." The only oils in my house are avocado, olive, and coconut and of course Ghee. No refined sugar, rarely some coconut sugar, but mostly Monkfruit/Erythitol/Stevia.

My wife and I started buying Vital Farms eggs to see if we could notice a difference. We used to buy the regular eggs from Costco before and didn’t make a big deal about it. We went a few weeks with Vital Farms, noticed small differences, went back to the cheaper eggs and WHOA, we can totally notice a difference now. They just seem so pale and not appetizing.
All this to say, thanks for making these videos! We’re definitely shopping more intentionally now and reading the ingredients of the things we buy and consume.

Watch "Rotten" on Netflix. They talk about the fish industry. Unfortunately, we can't really know if what we get from the store is good quality or not b/c a lot of companies buy from China, and they mislabel fish, pump it with preservatives, and thaw and refreeze it in transit. Also, the shipping containers are often filthy. I'd really watching that documentary! Whole Foods does carry their own responsibly-farmed salmon though. You could give that a try!

First of all, I wanted to say that I enjoy your videos Bobby... because of you I now only use specific EVOO and avocado oil brands... BTW the avocado oil is great for so many things... I used it when making carrot cake last week, and it was delicious! I didn't have any applesauce so I used the avocado oil and it turned out fine.
I've been making my own peanut butter for many years and its so easy to do. I DO NOT add any additional oil, salt or anything else. I place a 16oz jar of dry roasted peanuts in my blender on high speed and 5 minutes later I have peanut butter. I usually use dry roasted lightly salted (sea salt) peanuts, but you can use regular salted or unsalted if you wish, and Planters or store brands all work. I never get any oil separation after it's made. After it's made, it can be poured out into a jar because it's a little warm, but I then place it in the fridge for future use. I would imagine you could keep it in your pantry... I never did, even when I used to buy Jiff many years ago because I never liked that taste after opening and storing at room temp. Ugh! A 16oz jar of peanuts will make a PB jar size. FYI... storing in the fridge will not make it rock hard, but place it on the counter about 15 minutes before if you're going to be making a PBJ on some nice soft fresh bread 😊

Was surprised Teddies and Adams weren't included. They're at a lot of stores, and have the right ingredients. Of course, the best peanut butter is just pouring your peanuts into the grinder at stores that have them.
As for jams/jellies, I'm a big fan of smuckers natural preserves. Make sure it's "preserves" (not jams or jellies) and that you still read the labels. I'm proud of the fact that they make a couple good ingredients (incl. the natural peanut butters that he mentioned).

I bought it today for the first time because it was so cheap (I’m going on a trip to visit family and usually take a jar of peanut butter with me and leave it there when I go back home). Already opened the jar so I can’t return it...but I’ll be sure not to purchase again. Thanks so much for making this video. It’s something so simple that many of us overlook despite looking more heavily into other products (organic chicken, organic greens, non gmo products etc). When I was younger I used to eat Nutella till my mom said she heard palm oil was bad so she asked if I was alright with not having it anymore...I didn’t mind one bit.

JC we buy the two large jars at Costco, pour both of them in the kitchen aid, and mix them all up. The key is going slow. Also I what's use a butter knife and not a spoon because it's easier to keep mix with being a straight object. First thing I do is leave the jar upside for a few days. On day one it's possible but very easy to spill over oil. Second I stick the knife in all the way down and lift it back up creating holes where oil can seep in. Then veeerrryyyyy slowly do I begin to fold the pb into the oil. I do this for awhile until most of the oil isn't on top but in the jar. Only then do I begin to actually mix it normally and because I folded in most of the oil beforehand it doesn't take that long. Removing it entirely from the jar sounds like more work than just being careful and taking your time.

Great information. I’m so frustrated with all the crap these companies put in peanut butters. Also be aware roasted nuts above 280 degrees cooks out the anti oxidant properties. Some roasted nuts are toxic. I have decided to make my own post workout Walnut/Pecan Butter that’s anti inflammatory with electrolytes for my cramping.
Every ingredient is solely based on researched health benefits and not for baking purposes.
    Walnuts
    Pecans
    Electrolytes (Celtic salt, magnesium, potassium),
Natural Baking powder for PH and workout benefits
    Coconut oil (extra virgin)
    Avocado or olive oil
    Vanilla bean
    Cinnamon
    Turmeric
    Chai and flax seed
Possible add plain protein without additional ingredients or flavors
    Mushroom Lions mane
FYI I made it in a glass jar with all ingredients liste. It was amazing. I’m going to try another jar since this didn’t last a week.
Also I really love crunchy nuts so I will do more research on safe temperatures for roasting walnuts and pecans.

Thanks for the video, Sorry, but all peanut butters have at least 2g of sugar - it is in the peanuts themselves. So NO peanut butters have "NO SUGAR" or "Sugar Free". So we could get anywhere from 2g-5g of sugar per serving that is if they add more sugar then the 2g. The thing that really varies is the Sodium. Anywhere from 0 to 150mg in the ones I looked at so far. If you are watching or eliminating sugars, peanut butter may not be a good choice, no matter what you choose. Dont be fooled by "No Added Sugar" labels. I was fooled myself, but not now.

PRO TIP - if you're concerned about having to deal with separation in your nut butters, try this. Before the first use, open the jar and stir thoroughly and completely. Place in refrigerator until you're ready to use. It will remain well-blended until the jar is empty. If you're getting toward the bottom of the jar and it starts to get a little stiff, just microwave for 10-15 seconds until easily stirred again.

My favorite peanut butter, bar none, is Trader Joe's salted, unsweetened natural peanut butter. The one with the dark blue label. Just peanuts and salt. You can buy the same product elsewhere, but Trader Joe's has my favorite consistency. It's creamy with noticeable chunks. $2.39 here in SF for a normal jar size (can't remember oz, but the size most pb is) as of December 2022. It tastes better than the Whole Foods version and is 30 cents cheaper per jar. The Whole Foods version also has a lot of grainy peanut pieces in it, whereas the TJ's version is more like creamy PB with large peanut chunks. Also, the TJ's version is both darker in color AND tastes more roasted. Excellent all natural PB with just peanuts and salt. Amazing product.

What nut butters do you need to refrigerate?

    • @vjc4502
      @vjc4502 5 лет назад +3

Some people can't stir due to lack of strength or coordination. Sometimes it splashes out of the jar & can be a challenge.

@@lexi219 I always refrigerate no stir peanut butter, otherwise it will be too runny, keeping it in the fridge will make the texture creamier and easy to spread.

Where I’m from in West Africa we use Palm Oil quiet often but it’s red palm oil. I wasn’t aware there were different kinds of Palm oil so this is interesting to learn but I will do more research.
    Be blessed

I’ve been eating smucker’s natural for years. Peanut butter shouldn’t have anything other than peanuts and salt! Another thing I like is that it’s in the glass jar. No micro plastics getting in the peanut butter during stirring.

I make my own😊. 3 cups of organic almonds, roasted at 325 for about 10 minutes and cooled. Then into the Vitamix or food processor with 1 tsp mct oil. Blast until you get a nice smooth butter. Quicker than going to the store😁

About the nut grinding machines, a chef I used to work with talked about how he once saw one of those machines taken apart and there was mold all inside of it. I stay away from those machines because I do not know how often they are cleaned....also, do you have any preference for glass jars when you buy your nut butters?

    • @jadedoptimist6364

They use toxic solvents to clean the machines too. Make your own peanut butter. A health food store near me has a grinder to grind the nuts.

You are right. I briefly worked at a convenience store and one of my duties was flushing the soda taps. Sugar accumulated in the lines that bring syrup and carbonated water to the tap is a great medium for bacteria and mold. But the same issue presents with your kitchen ware that has a water reservoir. Bleach is the commercial method of cleaning, white vinegar in the home.
