Love watching your adventures. Thanks for keeping it real by showing the accomplishments and the setbacks! Looking forward to more of your adventures! Your videos help keep my wanderlust as bay until I can get back out on the road myself!
Really happy to find the right audience! Yeah, when I started doing this I just felt that a) I should try to make it as good as I can, regardless of circumstances b) I should keep it real, life is too short for fake bullshit. Greetings from Brazil :)
The "Eastern European laughter" as you chopped through the bike lock induced some North American laughter on my end. I really enjoy the little nuggets of humor that you interject from time to time. I'm sorry you missed the snake, but there will certainly be more. Finally, congratulations on reaching the end of the Trans-Amazonian highway and starting the next segment of your incredible journey.
3:07 A rodovia que você se referiu que vai de onde você está até Manaus, é a famosa BR 319, a rodovia fantasma. Viajantes do mundo inteiro vem pra percorrer ela. Cuidado ao percorrer ela, não durma no meio do mato pois tem onça (jaguar). Na época das chuvas ela fica intransitável.
It's great to watch your travel videos. I ride a bike a lot myself, only locally recently. There are many beautiful places on our planet. Traveling by bike is more intensive than just crossing countries by motor vehicle or public transport. Greetings from Poland.
Wow, you made it. Parabens! What an accomplishment! Not going to Lima anymore? The Rio Purus is a river I have travelled on several times. Amazonia state is full of jungle. Manaus is a mega-Babylonia. I visited the region camping on three occasions. The region surrounding it that has not been clear cut is a paradise. Try to bike to Presidente Figuerero. 450 waterfalls, dozens of caverns, forest and wildlife. The rivers are the color of Coca Cola due to high acidity. Mosquitos cannot breed in “black water”. A pleasant surprise. The heat and humidity will really kick in soon, and of course the rains. Are you eating lots of castanas de Para, farofo, and açaí? Fishing is great when it works. A small net set at night can yield surprises and welcome protein to keep you peddling. Best wishes Don.
Hi! Well, it will make little sense, but I'm going to Manaus (yeah, will do a bit of cycling back) and later will pedal my way to Peru 😅 And will hike to the jungle everywhere in between 😅 Yeah, many people told me Presidente Figuerero is a must. Massive thanks for support and dropping some knowledge, even forgot that season of castanas is already here! I'm planning to buy myself some little net, just in case, planning to do some serious hikes into jungle, start fishing is a must, need to get some decent meal from time to time :) Greetings from Lábrea!
@ When you travel through cow-pasture-land look for huge solitary trees. They are usually Brasil-nut trees. In December you can find the huge outer pods fallen to the ground. Inside are some dozens of the familiar nut. Also, in this season, the cow pastures are full of psilocybin mushrooms. A good friend who opens natures door and invites us into the unity of all beings. Beware the moquinas, almost invisible ticks common in cow land. All the same, hopefully the ride to Manaus is cow-free, but I kind of doubt it. Bom viagem, Michael
Hey there, nice to meet a fellow bikepacker! Well, this trip is far from finished... I just came back from little jungle hike (video is coming soon) and planning to cycle all way to Manaus later... stay tuned and greetings from the Amazon! :)
A inside joke we have in Brazil is that this road was made during the military dictatorship (60's) and when they released the plan to construct that road, the civils claimed that they were going to build a road that connects Nothing to Nowhere.
You say all the things you are busy doing, but you don't mention filming! All the crazy stuff you do and you keep the camera rolling! I love the devotion 🎥
Thanks a lot! Yeah, must admit that filming and especially editing consumes a lot of time. I try to split throughout the week, but it takes some effort indeed... :)

Evil Eastern European Laugh! LOL. Man that bike lock would have stressed me out! Glad you could make a plan. Poor machete. So now you are going really get deep into the wild in the next video? Keep safe.
I assume this quote was a response to the carnivorous attitude of Mr. Marcos :) Well, being frank, while travelling rural Latin America I run into these hardcore guys all the time, in different parts of the world things just function differently, I guess.
I enjoyed this episode immensely. Looking forward to you next adventure.
