This is my favorite video. You really captured the vibe. That “reptile” is called a two headed snake here in Goias. Now you’ve reached another area I spent a lot of time in, the Amazon with mountains, waterfalls, caves, wildlife and water the color of Coca Cola. Congratulations for this video and for your accomplishments.
I have a few questions for your upcoming Q&A vid: 1) What motivated you to take on this journey, and is it your first, or have you traveled like this elsewhere?--okay, that was three questions... 2) How are you able to afford this trip? I know your in-country costs are low, but flying is expensive and you have to buy parts, gear, clothing, etc. 3) Did you know Portuguese before you arrived in Brazil? 4) Because all of my experience with the jungle is from movies and television, your videos have caused me to realize the tv shows were exaggerating a great deal--still, aside from malaria, there is also Chagas' disease and various fascinatingly freaky parasites in SA, and I see you walking barefoot often, so are such hazards generally avoided with simple good sense, or...? 5) What is your background--curious to hear whatever you choose to let us know. Thank you for these videos, I'm really enjoying all of them.
Good morning Don, You asked us to leave questions for you regarding your upcoming video about the practical side of bicycle touring Brazil. Could you do a review of your bike, and your gear ? Pros and cons, what works and what doesn't, and what you would change about your setup if you could turn back time. Regards, Neil.
im being so very sincere when i say that you deserve more subs and views, i know that probably isnt the goal of your channel but the content you make is 11/10 on the dolphin scale.
Quite agree with what you say. Like 'Don' I'm also a biologist/ herpetologist, so find his channel entertaining. There's so much rubbish on RUclips which gets stupid viewer subscription numbers, but content providers showing interesting content, don't get a look in.
Thanks a lot! Well, obviously I would love to grow this channel (and it is slowly taking off), but I also simply love making these videos :) Always wanted to start making some sort of nature/travel documentaries, I guess this is like a first step towards that direction :) Greetings from the jungle (spoilers alert: I left Manaus the very next day) :)
Super! Jau prieš daug metų "pranašavau" tavo mamai, kad tu būtent taip gyvensi 😊 Pranašystė išsipildė 🎉 Sėkmės! P. S. esu priversta mokytis anglų k., nes žiūrėti su subtitrais - kažkoks košmaras 🤭
Those boas were beautiful. With so many people doing captive breeding I don't understand why anyone would want to purchase a wild caught snake. I think you will be in some great habitat for reptiles once you get past Manaus. Thanks for sharing your journey.
❤ congratulations on your first boa and Jaguar!! If you pay close attention you could get a feeling of someone watching you or your hair could stand up etc.. a primal instinct we have when large predators and Cats are near by. I've slept in the forest alone before,,it's scary sometimes when creatures making noises etc and trying to sleep..most people would run to the nearest hotel 😂 Love your channel thanks so much brother!!🇺🇲☮️✌️
One of your best! Loved all the animals on this one! I’d love if you did a compilation video or a ranking of your top 10 animal sightings in the Amazon or something like that! Hope the last stretch to Manaus went well! My question for the Q and A is what mammals have you most commonly seen in the Amazon?
Enjoyed again few of your videos. Very cool to find the boa constrictors. As u invite us to ask questions..well, the thing I'm wondering about the most watching all of your videos is how you deal with possible threats of robbery (amd bad people on your way). Arent you scared sometimes, being such an easy target? Do you have kind of a plan if something bad happens? Both me and my girlfriend have been in latin America dor some time (peru and ecuador), and we both have been robbed. Especially my girlfriend in a brutal way
WOW 2 thousand subcribers! Congrats! I see you were blessed by the Jaguar! Tremendous! 19:12 I have a question, do you sleep caring your machete with you? Just in case? If a Jaguar comes to poke you at the middle of the night you know.
Sveikas! Keli klausimai: 1. Kiek dar laiko malsiesi po BR dziugles? Ar yra kazkoks planas po to, ar tiesiog kazkiek laiko reikes gryzt i civilizacija, galbut uzsidirbt kitoms kelionems? 2. Kiek laiko uztruko ismokt portugalu? 4. Top 3 nuotykiai kelionese kuriuos visada prisiminsi, kurie nera nufilmuoti ir ikelti jutuban.
Epic journey mate, looking forward to the video you mentioned! Question for that video: How often are cars/trucks passing you on the road? Does it feel like you are very alone out there or are there many vehicles that you could ask for help if you needed it? Thanks :)
I've cycled around South America (South to North) as an English only speaker. You will need to learn some Spanish (and Portugese for Brazil) to get by but you don't need to be conversational. Just the basics are enough for travel by bicycle which can be learned quickly. As an English speaker you will find many of the necessary words similar. Don't fear. In the amount of time you spent watching this video you would have learned a lot of words and phrases and if all fails, hand signals and pantomime work.
@@ryszardochucki9975 when cycle touring, it's only the points between big cities where you won't find a single soul who can speak English. That said, on an extended bike tour, you are self sufficient (bicycle, tent, cooking equipment, etc..). So what do you really need? Water (aqua), Supermarket (mercado), hotel (hotel), lodging (hospedaje) etc...With the advent of smartphones, you have an electronic translator/dictionary at your fingertips. Proficiency in bicycle maintenance and gear selection is far more important because that's your vehicle and home during your travels.
I was very happy to see this episode! Stay safe out there brother! You are pretty hard core :)
Love this channel, this is real stuff no BS setup scenes just real life caught on camera. FINALLY SOME TRUTH!!
Thanks! Really try to keep it real :) Greetings from Brazil!
Excellent. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the next stages of your journey.
Thanks! Try to upload something decent every week :) Greetings from Brazil!

Hey there! I think I will make some decent Q&A video in the near future and try to cover all of these questions and more :)
What a great example you are setting! Thank you.

Great stuff, as usual, my respect. Would it be possible to travel around South America knowing only English?

Thank you very much. I have been to many countries where people speak mainly in their native language, it is not easy then.

How many bot flies and other parasites have you gotten in South America?
