- Hello everyone, so today we had a pellet fuel delivery to an awesome gentleman that has a haunted trail setup in his backyard! He even invited us back! Unfortunately we found out after we showed up that someone sold him a service that they werent supposed to and we called the store on his behalf and alerted the manager which she quickly understood without having to explain and she refunded the customer the extra service charges!

Don't you just love hearing the words "The last guy did it with no problems." LOL
Honestly I'm "The last guy." Sure liability issues suck, but I'm always willing to help if I can and I know I'm professional and skilled enough to handle the customers request without issues or damage. The guy has a damn camera recording that's good enough to shut down all false claims. Seems like he's just lazy or doesn't care to make people's lives a bit easier when he can with just a little effort.
To be fair the dude paid for a threshold delivery and he got a driver that refuses to do threshold deliveries. There's seems to be some blame on the driver for accepting this load. It seems like this all could of been avoided if the driver read the manifest.
@@bobbygalyon5580 right on
Then why did you not use the last guy?
@@markadams5429 The customer doesn't choose who makes the delivery. He can however tell home depot that this guy refused to do the threshold delivery he paid for and to use someone else who wont refuse thresholds the next time he makes an order.
Paid extra 100 for special delivery? If he is doing that it would be cheaper to buy a pallet truck with the amount of deliveries he has having.
Yup, very true!
Another professional delivery and a customer who has some common sense as well! That’s cool!
Seems like a cool guy. he will soon have 22 people for the haunted yard. That is a fast move for those bags.
It’s funny. I did Home Depot deliveries for a 3rd party company almost 20 hrs ago and nothing has changed. Store associates promising customers the moon just to get a sale then when the driver gets to the customer it takes longer to explain why you can’t do something because of liability reasons than it takes to do the deliveries.
We want to frame your comment!
@@SaffordDelivery lol. I really enjoy watching your videos because it’s almost like deja vu. Most of the scenarios s I’ve watched you deal with I swear I had the very similar scenarios almost 20 yrs ago. Bad part is 99% of the problematic deliveries I dealt with could have been avoided if the store associates would have simply stated that it’s a curbside delivery service and anything beyond curbside is solely at the drivers discretion. That’s the exact same thing you say in your videos and we was saying 20yrs ago. I got so tired of repeating to customers what I was allowed to do and not to do I considered making a recording just to play for them so I didn’t have to say it again. It really got annoying. Be safe my friend.
Chad smith, guess what, it's not just the delivery drivers. I did home reno work, third party for many years. It was common to have a job where the homeowner would say they were promised things.
Picture this. Sent out with materials to do a job in a new home. Had to deal with store salesperson, a decorator, a builder, and a homeowner. Home buyer shows up when I was completed and cleaning up. She said I installed the wrong material. I had paperwork which she signed showing what I installed. Ended up getting paid for original install, a complete tear out, another installation plus 2 trip charges. Salesperson got fired.
at first he paid over 100 then it was 40 lol
40 per pallet maybe
@@peterwiebe4906 Thats what I was thinking also. $120 In total for 3 pallets.
It was $40 over the curbside delivery of $60. So $100 for total cost
Very professional on both sides. That’s how to deal with problems in a civilised manner. Well done both of you. 💪
Thanks Karen she's the reason the world is the way it is
Cool customer Thanks for sharing 👍
That guy was pretty cool. I love the Halloween setup. Halloween is my fav as well. Can't believe he said admissions free. Seems like nothing free anymore except peppermint and covid shots😂. Hats off to him!
And candy corn yuckkkk
You could have pushed them in. He was way cooler than I would have been!
If he was way cooler than you, we would have left your belongings on the curb because that's where we get paid to leave them.
@@SaffordDelivery I'm just saying you could have skidded them in.
@@bradplumb64 but we could have left them on the curb where we get paid to leave them ☝️
@@SaffordDelivery True, but why not just save the guy some back breaking work and skid them in. :)
@@SaffordDelivery just skid them in man, shit if you don't like your job get a different one.
Curb side madness is back. Have a good one buddy and take care. 👍👍✌
Funny, My man keeps saying yeaaaa but nooooo. LOL
The "Mmmmm" sounds so sarcastic hahah.
For the customers who are too cheap / broke to own a pallet jack tell them to get some pipe rollers. You can leave the skids in the driveway and he can roll it into the garage by himself.
Cheap and broke? I mean most residences don't receive enough pallet deliveries to justify owning a jack. The average layman customer doesn't know the ins and outs and logistics of delivery. In this instance, he paid for a service, so that's what he expected. It's not like the customer was some dope for wanting his stuff in the garage. Of course I also understand that the delivery man is not equipped to safely meet the customer's request. Nobody in the wrong here, just miscommunication.
I'm not cheap or broke I get three tons delivered once a year and until this delivery they have always been placed in the garage so no need for one and my driveway is on a hill so sitting them on rollers not ideal.
@@christopha1955 ... I think the point we need to stress is he paid for a CURB SIDE delivery and I doubt that was stressed enough or nobody would be asking further questions.
3 pieces of PVC or wood dowel and you can move anything easily
@@DanielJohnson-ec8rk I did rigging and hauling as part of my last job and I can say you are on the right track, but it's not always easy, especially if the ground is uneven, gravel, or soft dirt. That part is something unknown till the driver gets on site.
Since this is the way his home is heated this is a routine delivery, I’d buy a pallet jack.
Great video. Have a good day from South Carolina.
Get a bit sick of hearing "I paid extra" Get the sales person at the jobsite and have them load by hand all the pallet bags, one by one, for that nice customer
Hey Bud, for that heart burn.....get : Brags Apple Cider Vinegar. Drink a once ounce shot mixed with water. It will delete the heart burn within a few minutes. 👍👍👍
I've seen pellet deliveries in my area of New Jersey, but wow, not as large as you deliver. Pellet heaters must be really popular up there.
We actually get a lady who orders 12 tonnes a year
I work in the haunt industry. This is rad!
Sweet where and what do you do?
Dealing with entitled customers must be the worst part of any day..I like how passive you are about it like sorry yell at someone else I just deliver this shit
What are you talking about? This guy said he pays extra for a threshold delivery which is not the same as curbside. I mean yeah dude could of just bought a pallet jack and save money on his shipping but that's besides the point. He paid for a service and got someone who refuses to do that service. So either the driver fucked up by no reading his manifest, or home depot fucked up by giving a delivery to a 3rd party contractor whos policy is to only do curbside. Not the customers fault
Where do you get that I'm entitled? I paid extra for threshold delivery and I didn't get it,nor did I give him a hard time about it.
😂😂😂 whatever you say chief looks like you gave the driver shit all he does it delivery it after someone else loads it on his truck the fuck up is not his fault
@@retro2modern376 ahhh you got me kemosabe I gave him so much grief explaining how I paid extra for the service and telling him that I understand why he didn't want to take the risk of putting it in the garage even when he went and looked at the manifest and saw that I paid for the threshold delivery,oh and let's not forget that nice exchange about Halloween we had, you sir are quite the video sleuth.
Everyone saying you could have just slid them in are the first ones to make a claim the second your mast touches the vinyl siding of their house. Like I always say, I wish I had the type of patience you do doing this job lol.
ruclips.net/video/seJbdsby5pY/видео.html
why were you such a jerk? You went and delivered pellets to the old guy the next day and put them in his garage. This guy had paid extra and you refused to do it.
The service is a threshold delivery that the customer paid extra for, that was sold to them by mistake. The manager on duty recognize the mistake that was made when I called and told her what had happened as far as pellet fuel threshold and she basically said she would refund the customer we didn't even have to explain anything else after that
If he scratches or damages anything is his companies fault. He is using his discretion to keep his company and himself safe from liable. The older generations have something wrong with them in that they expect everyone else to go above and beyond for them.
@@nursenic03 Obviously you didn't watch the delivery he made the next day where he put the pallets inside the garage ....for free.
You mentioned, “HEARTBURN”…have you had a scope? It’s so easy, but can definitely help you! Good Luck!

I enjoy the videos And I have delivered materials for 17 years
I gotta say sometimes you gotta say no but this is getting out of hand
And if it continues going the way you are handing these customers
You probably will not be a 3rd party delivery company if these practices keep going
Choo choo What are you talking about. He does quality work. Because of that, the shippers will continue to hire him.
@@shopiefraccount9782 yeah but he makes zero effort in trying to do anything other than drop the supplies off anywhere that is helpful for the actual customer and anytime a customer's ask he just straight up tells them no
considering its a curbside delivery? and we brought it right in front of the structure that he wanted them in? id say thats a job well done, the job is 100% complete and then some
zero effort?
That's like us having the CDL license to drive your material across the state we get to the location bump the dock and then you expect us to offload the entire trailer by hand when we're just paid to transport it from point A to point B

It's a home, not a wear house
Here's something, for every child accompanied by an adult for the backyard stuff, the adult must carry one bag into the garage, lol..... just kidding of course. :o)
I would have just did it the guys was super nice its not hard in the time you talked it would have been done. But "liability".. Lol
Hey mate, greetings from New Zealand. Love ya videos bro. Excuse my probable misunderstanding of US laws, but if you have the home owner permission to video on their property, can you also get verbal permission recorded at the same time to allow you to push the pallets inside? It’s on film with their YES to allow you to do so. Like I say, possibly different than here in New Zealand. Keep up the good work my man 👍
Greetings here from the United States. Although US law may allow it to be held up But shippers have screwed us in the past.
It's fine getting his permission on video, but it's when the shit hits the fan that it becomes a problem. Sure the customer said yes, but if there is damage it will be said that ...driver pushed it in to far, he put it to close to this or that, or it was to heavy here blahhbalhh the list is endless with excuses that costumers come up with.
Even if the homeowner says to do it or is willing to sign a waiver it’s always best to say no. The homeowner will almost always still throw a fit and try and file a claim if anything gets damaged. They are always cool with it until there’s a scratch on the garage floor then they want a refund for whatever was delivered then they want money for a new garage floor. They see any damage made as an ATM machine that’s about to spit out hundreds. I tell them no and move on.
That guy was not asking to much,
I don't know if it would be feasible, but if you also had a pallet jack on the trailer you could probably have gotten an additional 25 or 30 bucks to slide them in and he could still get refunded that extra $40 the store charged him!
Not for nothing but something like that could easily get you in trouble because you are charging for additional services and then the customer can go and tell the store that you wouldn't do it unless they paid you extra
People don't understand curbside is curbside, some people are so annoying, be safe and be well
What ever happened to beard bro's....you weren't jealous of his better beard products were you? My beard is awesome too and I still got a nice mop up top....no hats for me :-0
Tough decision on the placement...the old saying go's, only takes one jerk on a delivery to mess it up for everyone else...Happy Halloween everyone
bros, goes
the stores should tell the customers exactly what the delivery person is obligated to do (curb side), and what driver may do- at his discretion. The gen public doesn't know that things have changed in the delivery business for most lumber and big box stores. They don't use their own employees or trucks anymore, they don't drive their trucks on the customer's driveway anymore, and they use forklifts. This cuts down greatly on the "you cracked my driveway" claims. I went on one of those claims a few months back, and the homeowner greedily wanted a whole new driveway- $30,000. He had some windows delivered, and they drove on the driveway with a box truck. There was minor damage, but the homeowner was trying to hit a home run. of course
Don't know why I find this interesting! 🤭🤔
Because it is ruclips.net/video/seJbdsby5pY/видео.html

I’d be a little nervous firing straps out onto the road like that
You mentioned New London in this video. I was hoping to get down there to meet Daddy Jack. Sadly he passed away. Hope his restaurant is still open?
Never been 🤷♂️
Love your videos (I better get a go pro also) I deliver trees and bushes and saw you or one of your drivers use a crank for the flatbed straps you know where I can get one for my truck. Also what kind of GoPro? I have to record customers and landscapers and one guy dropped a big tree (I was filming) when I got to office the landscaper complained (hood think iPhone records) and I HATE “CAN YOU DO ME THIS FAVOR”!
Anytime I do anyone a favor on delivery I say no or I call the office

Are you liable if the product gets damaged when you slide it in? Every situation is different and you can usually tell who is going to turn a small thing into a huge thing.
Yesss
Don’t blame you for not wanting to do it
You should always carry anti acids with you. Ask me how I know. People are so strange. What do you mean" curbside delivery only". I paid to put it in the garage , at the end of a mile driveway. Wow.
Start carrying an on the spot contract they have to sign that you are not liable for any damages if they do insist you help them push things/place things on their property
Believe it not the shipper will NOT honor it
I like your vedeo s
Liability My arse sorry but this dude is starting to shit me,how hard to push them in.😂😂😂
Heartburn is Karma for bad service, you deserve. How hard would it have been to push the stuff in. Customers simple solution is to get someone else next time. To many claims bullshit

Now how you responded is more in the respectull way.
I cant beleave how meny clients you have that you have problems with, are you in the right job?
Don't get why you can't push them in thats funny
For someone who says he's very accommodating your not very accommodating..
Do you want me to load his pellet stove for him too?
Just buzzing with ya bud, love your videos 👍🇮🇪
if he gets this stuff all the time she should invest in a cheap pallet jack it would be cheaper in the long run instead of paying the extra shipping charge
Dude, you could have done that no problem. Just draft up some sort of damage waiver document if you don't think you have the skill to push some pallets....heck, it is all being recorded, just have him say on the camera, I give you permission to push these pallets and I assume all the risk of any damage to the garage/house, etc.
You got to watch the video that we came out with the Karen video today
I would have pushed that shit in, he seemed like a nice guy that wouldn't file claims, even if something did go sour.
I have thought this before so nothing new here...YOU are your own enemy here !! You could have put a pallet inside the garage & pushed a 2nd one into it as well (even with taking precautions & with even signing a waiver etc !!!!) NO BIG DEAL right but you seem to relish in provoking @ least some kind of conflict...Well done NOT !!!!! From an ex sod delivery driver who did his job to the fullest !! You are the guy that gives delivery drivers a bad name !!!
If you want extra pay extra and it's not a service that we offer. We would have loved to watch you delivers sod and dirt inside of someone's garage when you're supposed to drop it on the edge of their lawn 😂😂
This would never be a problem for me I’d just hand stack them in the garage! People this day and age is a bunch of lazy ass Karen’s! But this dude was pretty cool with it hats off to this guy for not being a douch
He should have pipes/rollers to set them on He could then roll them in
Do you have a pallet jack. What kind of question is that? it’s obvious that theMajority of the customers are not gonna have a one.
Not with us
At some point you would think someone actually cared enough to deal with the liability issue so youre not forced to give bad service
Are you sure you can't put half a pallet in the kitchen, next to the refrigerator?
I'm only 2.5 minutes in and had to cringe on your behalf for having to deliver ripped bags.
have you ever delivered sailboat fuel?

He said the normal guy lays down a board and pushes them in ! I mean yes that is entirely possible ! But it is not something very many people train for ! More less are prepared to do on the fly at some random's house !
Yep, we don't accommodate for everyone
"They Charged Me $100 Special Delivery Fee, Then 2 Minutes Later They Charged Me $40 Extra"???? Ummm Okay...
Man, you just sentenced that man to 8hrs of ball busting labor work. Gotta get those pallets inside.
Maybe an hour at most. Its about 15 minutes to unload a pallets worth. The bags are very manageable.
I used to work at Home Depot. We only used machines when necessary. Lots of loading individual bags by hand into customer trailers / vehicles.
Sweating doesn't hurt.
Of course you have to load pick up trucks and trailers by hands, but when a machine is capable of moving mass amounts of material at the flick of a lever, why use your back? Not everyone is built like a Home Depot employee with a strong back.
Is that penske truck automatic?
Unfortunately
A leaf blower to blow out your truck? You ever work for a tree company? Lol

Pallet jacks are inexpensive to rent.
Generic Prilosec works wonders.
Surprised you don't greet the customer and discuss the delivery before you unstrap. My pellet guy carries a floor jack and puts them anywhere in the garage, that's a lot of fingerprinting you left him with. Not surprised you have so many unhappy customers.
That's not what our contract says or does
What do they use pellet fuel for?
It's compressed saw dust pellets to heat your home using a pellet stove or furnace. Fun fact: people also use pellets of specific hardwoods for smokers to flavor meat and other foods
Well, actually you should record just in case your customers claim you damaged their property or the material you were delivering.
Why don't anyone ever show that they've paid for this "special" delivery.
How can you be receiving loads on pallet for years and not have a pallet jack by now
Because they have always been placed in the garage wasn't a problem I didn't give him a hard time about it.
You could have put that in the garage just like all that feed you put under the guys shed! Come on man!
Negative, different situation
@@SaffordDelivery Actually it was a better situation because you were on a more stable driveway. The other delivery the Moffitt was on dirt and grass. The technic you used by dropping it in front of the shed then backing up and using half the forks on the Moffit to put it in further could have easily been done at that garage! Also like the guy said on other deliveries they would put wood behind front pallet and push it in! I like your videos put it would be good video for people to watch you perform this! Come on man!
First he said he paid 100 then it was 40
Listen to the video I said I paid $40 extra $100 total.
