I was expecting that Equinox to have a 2.0 engine at least. As it is, it's down on power compared to its competition. It wouldn’t be bad if they offer this as a hybrid as well.
Beautiful styling but only a 1.5 turbo on that big vehicle ? It definitely needs at least a 2.0 turbo.
Roman and Andre, Forget the Equinox, they should bring back the compact, body-on-frame Chevy Tracker. They could do it as a joint venture with the new Land Cruiser FJ. 🤩🤩
What they need to bring back is a real Blazer. K5 or S10, even.
That Equinox looks fantastic. I really have no complaints about the design inside or out. I'm glad to see they're offering a beige interior. I'm so sick of all-black and gray interiors. I'm leery about that 1.5L turbo in such a heavy vehicle. It's not been a good engine in the Malibu. Major internal engine failure.
I like these videos because sometimes I can’t always go to the auto show. I have lived the Chicago Auto Show, I have been going for most of my life.
Who wants to enter Chicago? The city needs Lori Lightfoot back.
GM, we are thinking about getting rid of Apple CarPlay because it can be too distracting. 2025 Escalade IQ gets debuted with a 53 inch screen from one side of the dash to the other. Makes sense!
I'm digging the new rugged looks of this. The second part of the video, that EV Cadillac is impressive.
Everyone saying it needs more power, no it doesnt. You dont need a lot of power to do everyday things. This is perfect for people who want something practical and easy to drive and good fuel economy. You want something faster then look somewhere else because this ain't it.
Thank you!!!! I have the 22 Malibu with the 1.5L. Can't remember the last time I raced someone on the way to the grocery store, or the school to pick up my daughter, or my job, or the hardware store, or driving my other daughter to daycare. It's perfectly fine for what it is and I'd much rather have a couple more mpgs than a second off it's 0-60 time. I've had it a little over 14k miles and I'm averaging about 35.5 mpg. That's bordering on hybrid territory.
We’re making driver aids to help protect drivers and pedestrians. Also, here is a 6ft screen
Doesn't look terrible, but the powertrain being unchanged is going to be a big miss.
Wow a equinox that doesnt look like crap! They did it
I can't believe how many people buy the current piece of crap.
Takes GM a couple of decades to get things right.
@@Josh-179Because it's affordable duh, one of gm best selling crossover.
@@EchoAccord , I know that's the reason, it's the only reason. I've driven in one and it's straight up rental vehicle material. After Silverado, it's Chevy's best selling vehicle.
Looks good but the 1.5T? No thanks GM.
Agreed 👍
still no hybrid?
There doesn’t need to be a hybrid version of everything
@@FroggysProductionsexactly
How is it possible that those 24's look small on the Escalade iQ?
🔥🔥THANKS FOR GOING TO THE SHOW FOR US GUYS 😊🔥🔥
5:32 That Cadillac Ev suv would be insane driving at night will all the screens on. Very distracting especially for a teen or elderly driver. $175 k driving to your death in luxury.😂
The words ‘Rugged’ and ‘Chevy Equinox’ don’t ever belong together on the same planet.
This one looks different
I mean with the exception of the Forester that could be said about everything in this class. Including the Rav4 which gets spanked by Subaru. At least this gen looks good. The last one looked like a rental special from the day it was released.
@@Michael-ur5qb Well, there's also the Jeep Compass and Ford Bronco Sport.
😂
Closer to a Blazer than the actual Blazer
Can we go back to no screens or have an option for a base model with standard gauges. This jump to screens everywhere is not working for me.
Buy a mazda
Will the Cadillac come with an easy reboot button to help out when the software crashes? I know you guys have to be getting tired of unplugging battery cables.
Very nice looking. Two tone is very cool.
Equinox looks good tbh. Be nice to see TFL test it in the coming years. Might be a good camping rig for people who don't want to do more than a 2 or 3 rated trail.
I like the column shifter on the Equinox. Brings back old school memories.
Me too
It looks good, but I won't put my money on the 1.5T. GM should go back to the drawing board and bring back a reliable engine like the 3800 v6.
Nice Buttons
Hate the gauge cluster
Another slapped on screen on the dashboard 🤦🤦🤦
Will the front passenger seat still fold flat?
Why is the Equinox the same colour as the Landrover Defender 90 75th anniversary edition?
TFL guys when its a SUV with a 2nd row only why not have the option to move the back seats further back for more room if needed? There is a ton of wasted space behind the last row if you are not storing stuff back there that rear passengers could be using to have more room.
That really grinds my gears. The front seats should be able to move back 6" and the rear seats should be able to move back 6" for more room because there is just wasted space behind the rear seats.
Hi Folks! May I ask when you will drive the 2025 Equinox? And, of course show the GMC Terrain counterpart? Many Thanks, Graham.
A friend of mine has a 2022 loves it except for the 1.5 a tad bit weak
Just wait for the engine to go , nothing but a piece of junk 😂
@@cormaro13NO IT AINT, SOOOO
@@traciweisenbachCITB it sadly is and RUclips can confirm, go ahead and type it in and tell me what u find besides the trash test reviews needing to praise the car lol
It would be interesting to see how the Equinox does in the real world. Off and on road!
I truly hate all of the 1.6 and 1.5 turbos in these compact SUVs. All of em. I’m thinking it’s just an old school frame of mind, but even Honda has marginal reliability from them. They just aren’t large enough not to be overworked. Keep them 4 cylinder (not 3 like some of the small motors) and 1.8 or bigger.
With the Cadillac,,, I knew there was going to be a screen that would be as wide as the interior,,,, 😂😂. Can’t get any bigger unless the wrap them to overlap the side windows as the mirrors!! I don’t doubt that will be the case within 5 years in Europe at least!! How ridiculous the vehicles have become due to one upmanship!!
It’s a 2 body frunk Roman!! 😂😂 There! I said it for ya!! 😊😊
Thanks fellas, fun updates!
Yeah, I'd never buy anything that low displacement, no matter how much power than can squeeze out of it. Look at Mazda for example, 2.5 across the board. Crossovers shouldn't have anything less.
The Chevy equinox active is very nice in that model, now I think it should have a 2.0 turbo engine and a hybrid version And when we will have the test drive in the traverse 2024, thanks for your videos friends
I’m sure a 1.5 GM will be super reliable…
Equinox is lookin good, Caddy while looking nice is for people to show off that they have money to waste.
wow this looks great
170k for that Cadillac is INSANE. That will be a highly limited run or they will be going bankrupt in a year or two making those🤣 people aren’t buying the 100k EV options, why would they buy a 200k EV.
The only people buying those Cadillacs will be the ones can drop 200k on anything and not see a change in their bank accounts🤣
This new Equinox looks fantastic. The 2.0 Turbo engine was perfect for this car. It’s a pity GM has canned it.
I think Chevy design department did a good job on the new Equinox, but I want to see what the new 2025 GMC Terrain AT4 will look like. I hope it shares the looks of the new Acadia AT4.
Great design, but a bigger engine option is needed. I myself will always steer clear of any vehicle with a CV transmission, they are not built for spirited driving. Sense FWD only comes with a CV transmission, I would opt for the AWD version with the 8-speed automatic. And the small turbo charged engines now being used in newer vehicles may suffer longevity issues. Turbo's produce lots of power and torque, but they also produce lots of heat when worked hard. And these little engines are going to work plenty hard to move the weight.
The only thing that worries me is the tepid engine. But it sure looks great
1:52 the brake lights masquerading as turn signals needs to stop and be illegal. What is up with Americans' aversion to and/or inability to make proper taillights?
So would that be an "Electrolade"??
Seems like they have just enough over-the-top mixed in!
It's so weird to me that the domestics got rid of sedans. Like, they said this is a crowded segment, how many ways can you cut it before your brand actually needs to spread out profits over a line. In the short term I think the move makes sense but I don't think it does in the log run. Especially, as prices rise and your customer base gets smaller.
Finally, an Equinox I would buy, love it
but can you afford it?
Looks alone are not a good reason to buy a car, let alone one that costs over $40K. Chevy has never been tops in the reliability department. Also, does it not bother you that a so-called "American" car company doesn't even make this vehicle in the USA? They are putting Americans out of work so they can pay dirt cheap wages to people in Mexico or China instead of paying union wages that can support families here in the US.
1:21 Did he say 175-hp?
As a ford and Toyota guy even I wish gm would actually do a k5 blazer instead of that embarrassment mom vehicle
“ACTIV” As me when I eat a “Homewrecker” burrito from Moe’s.
They made a nice changes, but there’s one thing that GM forgets to put in every vehicle, reliability!
It's a compact platform like Andre said Roman. Not a midsize.
I always thought the current Equinox looks kind of 'girlish'. This one definitely looks more rugged... like a shrunk down version of the new Traverse. Both are big improvements over last year's models.
When there's no Nissan dealership in your neighborhood
If you put the rav 4 grill on that Equinox, 95% of normies would just think it's a rav 4.
A 4.3 V6 would be nice
$175K why stop there just do a $200K truck 😂😂👌👌
Chevy Thunder ⚡️🇨🇦⚡️
Bring back the 2.0L turbo as an option
My Dad had a 2011 Equinox...traded it for 2018 Canyon truck
Wimpy small 4 cylinder. Spelled Activ wrong as well (active)
I like that auto makers are going rugged.
For the low price of 90k it’s yours.
😁😄😂🤣
Yes, it is enough …But it still comes with a lot more options which makes it WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH. 🤔👍🏽 I LOVE MY CHEVROLET‼️😂😂😂👊🏽
That front though, looks a lot like a Santa Cruz
A sporty hybrid of this will sell at the right price. As it is, I don't know why anyone would want the new Equinox aside from the badge and "new car."
ya blazer needs an off road version!
I don't know If you all heard but GM is bringing back plug in hybrids to North America. The plug in hybrid 2025 Equinox will be or is already available in China. Expect to see the plug in hybrid before the end of the year .
I feel rugged just looking at it 🙃
Ah. It has the rugged 1.5 liter engine.
Lets see the Electric Raptor Guys!!
After seeing this... I don't think I want car with any screens, my phone is big enough.
I own a 05
I like it except for that pitiful 1.5 liter turbo engine.
Ugh, dial shifter, and no exhaust tips through the bumper.
Seems like a moderate downgrade, especially considering this model is apparently absorbing the Blazer and Trailblazer brands (2025 Trailblazer only seeing minor refresh). It was sad to see the Equinox brand drop the 2.0T option, and if the Blazer isn't refreshed we won't see a Chevy mid-size SUV with tow-ready power. For buyers torn between the Equinox/Blazer/Trailblazer and the Traverse, I think the former will provide more value for average consumer. Real-world MPG should be in the 26-29 range, which is in line with the current Chevy offerings.
The current Equinox is the S10 Blazer of this generation.
That escalade IQ is cool looking but $175k? WTF?!? Car makers have gotten out of control.
6:37 it looks like a little toy car driving away
Gm baby food/poop brown, lovely color!
I really like this Equinox, but Chevy should have offered a Hybrid model. I know we can buy the EV Equinox but I think most people would prefer a hybrid.
GM is still chasing the impractical dream with this Cadillac. Beautiful vehicle, but very limited market. On the other hand the Equinox is where their bread and butter will be.
Now build a Plug in Hybrid and I will trade in my prime
i can go farther with my geo metro nonstop for 300 miles and refill it in 5 minutes for anothe 300 miles. THIS IS REALITY .
the Cadillac 's interior looks ridiculous. It is like buying 50 inch+ tv just to show off to your friends. I guess if you have the money why not.
It’s a better looking rental suv that will have weird issues when the warranty expires. 😂
You guys be careful up there.I would be packing if I were you...
Will every Equinox look like the more rugged one or do you have to buy the special package? If it doesn’t look as presented, then it’s a yawner.
That Escalade pile will be on the used market for half price in about 3 years
Looking at the thumb nail I swore it was the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Chevy have no ideas of their own.
Cad du…Equinox blazer
I thought they were going to say this Chevy was hybrid. They should start releasing more hybrids as a great transition towards all electric or hydrogen powered vehicles. Great looking car otherwise!
All of GM cars/trucks are terrible in quality.
Engine size is disappointing. No mid size suv should have less then 250 hp .
5:06 you can't brag about 24s when the design is so basic like those. I'd take 18s with a cool design over some meh-designed 24s.
Way to stay professional Roman! 🤦♀️🫏
No Apple carplay, no Android Auto, no Thank you.. for xx$$$
Small 1.5. No thx
Chevy will build everything except a real blazer
Wow a hyunda grill knockoff
They are making nice looking vehicles, but man their engine choices suck and the digital cluster, nope.
Power train is a big NO
Wouldn’t touch it if it were given to me. Not knocking Chevy but these things are not reliable in the slightest.
175k for a rebadged Suburban? These automakers are insane.
