  • In this video I compare the all new 2025 Chevy Equinox LT and the Equinox Activ or RS features, options, and pricing. For this generation, the Equinox gets slightly larger in size and gains a new Activ trim like most other Chevy SUV's. The Equinox powertrain is mostly a carryover from the previous generation although the AWD equipped models do get a new 8 speed automatic while the FWD versions get a CVT transmission. The same 1.5T engine powers both versions however you do gain a little torque with the AWD models. The Equinox Activ and RS will be equipped identically outside of mostly cosmetic or appearance differences between the two trims. While the starting MSRP is lower on the LT (given it is now the cheapest Equinox) the MSRP's on the Activ and RS are higher than the outgoing model. Which one would you choose if you're in the market for a new Equinox? Let me know!

nice to see Chevy step up on offering a lot more features and making much of it standard. I am curious though on the surround vision recorder. Is that in a way replacing the dash cam that many people get for their vehicles? I have one and wonder if the new Equinox will have a 12v outlet in the center console?

Great video, do you know what the 20"wheel option will look like? Dealers are taking orders as of April 25th yet no word on the 20" wheel

I don't. I believe all of the photo's of the RS are showing the standard 19" wheel. The only details I have about the 20" is "Black, Machine Face". The 19" says "Carbon Flash Metallic, Machined Face"

1.5T engine is a carryover. The FWD will have a CVT and AWD will have an 8 speed auto and slightly more torque.

Will the Equinox or the Terrain ever get SuperCruise or some similar lane-guidance technology?

I don't believe it is going to be available in the Equinox for the time being. GM seems to be reserving this feature for their EV's and more expensive models.

Great question! The order guide only states "Standard Speaker Audio System". I don't see any mention of a premium offering as of now.

Will this new Equinox have a more reliable Engine / powertrain? I know many many people that have had engine problems with equinox and terrain. The engine should last more than 14,000 to 55,000 miles. They should go well beyond 100,000 with no problems. I had friends that bought a 2021 Terrain and the engine failed at 14,000 miles, Another friend had 2 brand new Equinox's and 1 was in the shop many times and as they were driving it out of the GM repair shop it broke down again - they bought it back - The 2nd one had many issues so they traded it for another 3rd Equinox in the last 3 years and finally this one seems to be OK - This 2025 Equinox looks good but the reliability and quality need to match the looks.

    What’s the drivetrain

There needs to be a 2.0 turbo engine option. 1.5 is too small for this size vehicle, especially if equipped with AWD. 8 speed automatic is the only way to go unless you enjoy a mundane driving experience. Why even offer a CV transmission?

CRV uses the same 1.5L motor. Just relax
