100 x better than the current model.
For sure, they just keep improving their vehicles. Good job Chevrolet. Pushing us all to SUV crossovers though deleting the Malibu recently. No affordable sedans will be built eventually. 😡
@@sachemrock what they could have done instead of killing the Malibu after 2025 just take it and introduce the new tenth generation Malibu the ninth generation has been around for 8YEARS but no Gm had to be stupid and now the Malibu is dead after 2025 RIP🪦MALIBU 1964-2025 you will be missed a lot and they aren’t even doing anything to say goodbye to the Malibu most manufacturers would right before a car model dies they introduce a final edition well some do except for General Motors there’s no final edition Malibu to say goodbye
@@FroggyplayzTyyyThis is coming from someone who owned a 2014 Malibu 2LT and absolutely loved it until it was totaled at 125k miles. Barely had any issues AT ALL with it the entire time I had it.
Chevy should’ve trolled Toyota and offered a brand new Malibu in 2025 with a more powerful hybrid and AWD setup for its last generation and their Segway to fully electric sedans.
Chevrolet is certainly stepping up their design game. Much respect to them.
I'm impressed with this. A hybrid version would be a winner.
Liking the newer Chevy designs.
Love how Chevrolet offers great storage throughout their new vehicles but most importantly they’re always sure to include out of sight storage for things you may not want kept out in the open.
Love the column shifter, reminds me of the good old days ☺️ Great review!
Thanks!
The colors are very unique for sure.
I prefer the RS trim of the new Equinox, it looks the best to me but this new generation is well done in general. Compared to the outgoing model, this looks so much better inside and out. I love the DRL, taillight updates and new wheel designs but most importantly the all new interior. Gone is that rental fleet interior cabin, this new Equinox’s interior looks like a proper step up from the new Chevy Trax!
Well said and thought out comment. I would agree and a big upgrade from the Trax.
Nice looking ride this😎 Excellent first look… looking forward to a detailed review…😁
A vehicle that size should be able to tow more than 1500 pounds. But with only 175 horsepower, it can barely move itself and passengers, much less do it while towing anything. It looks great in and out, but severely lacking in power.
Yep the 16 has over 300hp
You do a real good presentation with all of the features, Thank You
Already saw this on Raiti, but this showed the infotainment which the other did not and pricing is super good to know!
Fantastic video guys!
Thank you, as always!
Looks a 100 times better but seriously only 175 hp? I hate these 1 liter engines in these SUVs.
We have a 2018 Equinox with the 1.5L turbo, no problem whatsoever, plenty of torque and fast enough. But, this is true for city driving (99% of our driving is city) but once on the highway, these small engines becomes a joke, even dangerous. So it depends what you use it for. City = Good / Highway = bad.
Great review Drew and Mason.
Thanks so much
Great view guys I like
IMO this looks a lot nicer than a RAV4 and the horn is better
That horn puts it at the top of my list! Lol
Disappointing engine choice! Just weak and lame.
Omg I’m getting this!! I’m in love I loved my 2020 I bought back in 2018 !
It’s very nice! I like the new look!!!!
OMG, they got the transmission shifter back on the steering column!! Nice!! 😁👍
I just drove a current Terrain Denali with 49,000 miles on it and it seemed like it was falling apart. No thx.
😬
That interior is sick
Definitely better than the last model and a good option for a small family *not looking for a 3rd row vehicle*. I see these selling really well for Chevy. Ty for the review!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Lol this is a HUGE family vehicle with 7 seats.
@@CRVgarage If it was just my wife & I..I would get this for sure, but I have to consider my little one's growth rate lol
@CRVgarage ????? 7 seats? Not on this vehicle. Want video are you watching?
They shouldve put the 2.0 engine in this and mak e it 250hp!
I love the two tone paint and the dash looks great.
Looks much better!
If you accidentally bump the column shifter will it shift out of gear while you are driving?
Best looking one yet!
No donuts? Or not enough to fill that large storage compartment?
from what I've been reading the heated seats and steering wheel is standard on all trims. I am wondering and hoping there will be a 12v outlet on the center console? Final production model will tell everything.
Nice upgrade 🎉🎉
This is why I'm learning towards the 2025 camry! It's taken them too long to put this car in dealerships!
I'm definitely looking to get the new equinox LT hopefully I can get it
No one in their right mind would buy a Chevrolet over a Toyota. No one.
Actually, lots of people do, and they're very reliable. Speak for yourself. You don't speak for others.
😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡 blows away many Toyota SUV models like the RAV4. You slam the door on a RAV4 it sounds like it's about to fall apart. sloppy handling, boring interiors, cheap ergonomics ....just stop😅😅
I like it!
Why why why this tiny engine and its the only engine soo slow its gonna be a no for me just because it's gonna drive soo slow at least give it 250hp option 😂
Wow 🙀 what a beautiful vehicle 😍
I currently own the 2020 Equinox Premier and I'm in love. The only things I would love to upgrade are the screens with these new ones 😅 wish Chevy would just let us upgrade to the new ones instead of buying a whole vehicle 😢
Like always, the main question will be how reliable it will be. The car looks impressive and undercuts the CRV and rav4 when it comes to pricing, but will Chevy be able to compete? We all know they love to cut corners
Beautiful SUV! Love you can get it in the low 30's price range. Wish it had a higher non-turbo HP engine option.
I'm not a huge fan of GM given their reputation for poor reliability over the last 30yrs, but I have to give credit where it's due. They're doing a great job with the styling of their latest offerings. I also have to credit them for offering interesting and unique color choices. Time will tell how the seemingly small and underpowered 1.5L turbo and CVT hold up over time. It's the same powertrain as the one in the Malibu, which has had some major mechanical issues.
Wow, what a lineup overhaul. They are going to be very competitive with all of their crossovers with these new designs. The designers at Chevy have really improved the brand image in the last 4-5 years. Would love to see them add a small hatchback FWD and a new midsize sedan.
How about long term reliability?
Does GM even know what that means?
@@herlastvoyage my experience with GM is 50,000 mile transmissions that give out right after the power trane warranty expires
Depends on how you define long term? If you don’t drive much (less than 5k/year), it might last ten years.
Chevy absolutely killing it with these new designs!
Why is the rear wiper so small? Looks like it will wipe a tiny area of the rear glass.
Love that under-bed storage, and they still have room to include a spare tire 👍. Not loving the switch to digital gauge clusters - wonder how much those will cost to replace when they break. Glad at least that the HVAC retains physical controls 👍. Good looking rig overall, though.
Looks good. Chevy will make good money off this model.
Primarily in the form of out of warranty service work and repairs. ⚠️💲
Love the design of the Equinox! Does it have a more powerful engine? A hybrid?
Unfortunately, not at this time. But there will be an Equinox EV which is completely unrelated to this model but should be faster
I hate that they’res no hybrids on equinox
Next year 2025. It'll be the equinox plus activ. Plug in 24kw battery good for 90mi.
I just can’t trust the reliability of modern day chevys. The cvt’s are BRUTAL
Chevy doesn’t use CVT’s? This is an 8 speed transmission?
@@kennordsfan1494 the front wheel drive versions have cvt’s and the Malibu’s had notoriously terrible transmission issues
The new design looks much better than the previous design. Chevy needs to step up their game and offer a lager engine option and ditch the CV transmission in the FWD models. The 8-speed automatic is the only way to go for this size of vehicle. CVT's are so mundane and made for light weight economy vehicles. If you like your driving experience spirited and enjoy the sound of your engine going through the gears, then a CV transmission is not for you. Come on Chevrolet, you have designed a great looking Equinox, now offer some get down the road performance to go with the RS and Active trim options. Many are complaining about the only small four-cylinder engine being offered in this decent size vehicle. Power to weight ratio is more than likely not going to be very impressive.
This with a Toyota hybrid would be great!
Make the RS truly an RS with the 2.5L from the Traverse. That would create some buzz! Regardless, it's an improvement over the outgoing model for sure.
Great Review as always. Chevrolet has stepped it up finally .
One thing I notice as this will be a soccer mom kid hauler and just people with children kind of vehicle .Those suede like inserts will become absolutely disgusting in a week. Without a way to clean suede properly and as a daily use car this will drastically reduce resale with stained seats. Something to note for real life buyers. The End ..
how did you get a 2025 equinox? when does it release to the general public?
It should be on sale in the next month or two but we are still awaiting a final date from Chevy
Does that model has a Toyota drive trance and motor no
I’m not a Toyota fan, but I would take a RAV4 over this turd every day of the week. Especially if it had high mileage, I know it would be more reliable than any GM.
Sounds like a toyota boy to me
@@fsufootball6984 nope. I have never owned a Toyota. Two 1994 ford thunderbirds, 1995 Saturn sl2, 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2004 ford explorer, 2009 mitsushitty galant, 2013 mitsushitty cancer, 2011 Mazda cx7, 2015 Mazda 3 and currently own a 2016 Mazda cx5.
It’s crazy how many older Toyotas and Hondas you see on the road. Everything else disappears quickly. Many cab and ride share drivers have 300k on the current Gen Camry with hardly any issues. No other car or pickup truck would last that long with commercial duty.
The two tone interior is done nicely. I see some new cars where the two tone design looks all wrong... the colors, the placement...
GM has used Jatco in the past for CVT. I wonder if GM is using Nissan/Jatco's new CVTX for this? Seems to be a winner so far, chain driven, beefed up substantially. Since Nissan started using these in the 2019/20 Altima and now Rogue, transmission issues have disappeared. That'd be a huge step up and should give them a direly needed boost to fuel economy. Current Equinox mpg is dreadful.
If true DO NT BUY CVT
I don't mind the plastic as long as it's not VW cheap, the storage is a big plus, however, only 175HP? More back storage in my Outback, but a bit limited in the front, the deep cubby is cool. The only thing I like about the leather and vegan leather (lol) is it's easy to clean, anytime you have cloth in there, it can be an issue, hopefully they have leather seat upgrades in the Chevy, Sunroof in California is a must, but ventilated seats might be a worthy alternative.
Hoping the mpg numbers are 27-32 on the naturally aspirated model.
No naturally aspirated engine choices. Just the GM 1.5 ecotec turbo GDI engine 175 HP and 203 torque
No ventilated seats?? Heads up display??
Solid car and solid pricing. New Rav4 non-prime can easily surpass 40K. Even the CRV Sport Touring is 40K but lacks 360 camera, ventilated seats, and so many other features offered on numerous rivals. And then we have the Rogue which somehow can go up to like 44K and its a non hybrid. Hopefully the RS and Activ trims remain under 40K with the pano roof, etc.
Of course the CRV Sport Touring is a hybrid model with standard AWD. The Equinox doesn’t have a hybrid and the prices provided were for the front wheel drive models.
@@1950rking The CRV hybrid 100% does not have a standard AWD system. AWD is a $1500 option on the hybrid trim levels. My point still stands that 42K is insane for a CRV that doesn't even come with cooled seats, panoramic roof, 360 camera, heads up display, etc. I mean it's less expensive to buy a Model AWD Long Range which is hilarious. A fully electric vehicle should not cost as much as a basic hybrid. The CRV is a nice car but not worth it's price. Better options to be had. Also keep in mind you are more likely to receive a few thousand off the Chevy price. Honda on the other hand you might not even get msrp
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 You specifically stated the Honda CRV Sport Touring trim level. That trim does come standard with AWD. AWD is a $1500 option on the two lower hybrid trim levels. We have no idea what the price of the Equinox will be. Only the base price was shown. Many of the features shown in the video will be options as American manufacturers are prone to do. The Equinox may indeed turn out to be the better value, but we don’t know that yet.
GM finally offering stying and content and value to rival the Korean and Japanese manufacturers, about time, well done GM
Less than halfway through the video and I have noticed two things... First, I don't necessarily like cars that have absolutely no visibility in front of the passenger side mirror, nothing to see some kid running or riding in front of you from there, except for that newfangled relying on cameras thing.
Second, I don't like the dark cave feeling of the back of a vehicle without even a rear window to see some vantage around you as well. That's actually one of the reasons I would never get an RX. I know these sound trivial, but a lot of car makers are catching up to Subaru and Volvo with the actual "human comfortability factor" of not needing cameras for this regular type of thing.
Very nice 2025
Would be cool if they offered a plug-in hybrid model.
I’m in the market for a small SUV and I have to admit that on looks alone I would consider the Equinox. But, Chevy really missed the boat when it comes to issues on my must have list. The small horsepower engine, specifically, the lack of a hybrid power train, the smaller space in back compared to the competition and the lack of wireless Apple CarPlay would keep me from buying it.
LOL you're comparing this to the legendary best selling RAV4?
No comparison! 2013rav4 170k miles and no issues.
At least the equinox has a strong horn and not the weak meep meep of the rav4
@@1996ChevroletImpalaSS That horn will be good when you need to signal the tow truck at 1am where you are :)
Please say the '25 Blazer is getting this digital gauge cluster
Nice looking vehicle getting killed by the 1.5 Engine and a CVT. Let us welcome tthe new Chevy Equinox to Hertz, National, and Avis
They always do great exteriors and then lose me on the interiors - always look cheap.
Torque will probably be good with a turbo, but HP seems a bit low for a vehicle of that size.
Might not be a big thing for everyone, but not one touch up/down windows control on the driver’s side? 🤔…
❤great video, sadly GM can't bring PHEV version to US 😓It seems ev related products from China have been banned, even US brands made in China products got no exemption
But the Chevys are made in Mexico…
The pricing gets stupid in a hurry. As shown that is 34K.
nice car
I'd rather have a Toyota for the reliability factor and resale.
When will it hit dealerships?
Most likely in one to two months from now but we await official word from Chevy
I really like the new chevys. Impressive materials, high price in Canada tho…
Can't wait for the GMC's equivalent
Do you all have an idea as to when this new 2025 will drop or when dealerships will start taking reservations?
Looks great! But unfortunately long term reliability will be lackluster.
Only time will tell if it has another crap engine that has timing chain problems. Other question is have they made them more affordable? Looking at the current market 50k and up vehicles are sitting on lots not selling while 30k and below models are the only vehicles selling well.
Nope, buy the Rav4 still.
Sorry the Toyota won't be in the shop every other week .
No way gm
Sounded nice until the honda like power. None and cvt to be dismissed.
At least bring the 2.0t back yall have the engine still gm
It’s finally here, the totally redesigned Chevy Equinox that I was really interested in seeing and I like it except for one major issue, that damn under powered tiny 1.5 ltr. engine is back again! 😩
1.5 liter turbo 175 hp with 1500 lbs. towing. A bit underpowered I would suspect. Will await drive test.
My son has a 2017 chevy equinox. It has a 2.5L non turbo engine. I looked at a 2023 equinox. It had a 1.5L turbo charged engine. I bought a mazda with a 2.5L non turbo engine instead. If you want to sell me a vehicle put a big enough engine in it that it doesn't need a turbo
Hybrid is the in thing but Chevy seems to be lagging behind competition from Japan, Korea and Europe!
It look like is going to break down anytime.
175 HP? You can get more than that in a Honda Civic. That is lowest in this segment, Fail.
If it can tow 5 k i see it being a win for gm
$33k 😊😊😊. Cheaper than the RAV4
in 4 years the Rav 4 will be worth twice what the chevy is worth
I'm still driving my 2011 RAV4. Knock on wood, but in 185k miles I've had to make one repair for $1500.
@@alanthomasgramontYour 2011 will easily outlast a new non Toyota/Honda SUV.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice preview. Looks like Chevy's done an excellent job revamping the Equinox. Definitely among the best-looking cars in this segment; probably THE best interior design.
I’m really hoping GM brings the PHEV version of this to the US. Only selling it in China is silly
This is a very handsome vehicle regardless. Thanks for the great video
😔sadly,It seems ev related products from China have been banned, even US brands made in China products got no exemption
Read early spring 2025. Equinox plus active will have the bigger 24kw battery, good for 90mi range.
