Love how Chevrolet offers great storage throughout their new vehicles but most importantly they’re always sure to include out of sight storage for things you may not want kept out in the open.
I prefer the RS trim of the new Equinox, it looks the best to me but this new generation is well done in general. Compared to the outgoing model, this looks so much better inside and out. I love the DRL, taillight updates and new wheel designs but most importantly the all new interior. Gone is that rental fleet interior cabin, this new Equinox’s interior looks like a proper step up from the new Chevy Trax!
A vehicle that size should be able to tow more than 1500 pounds. But with only 175 horsepower, it can barely move itself and passengers, much less do it while towing anything. It looks great in and out, but severely lacking in power.
Yeah idk why they are doing this with alot of new cars...small 4 bangers with turbos and they just keep getting bigger it stupid give us atleast 230 hp so it can have a little pep 175 is weak
I'm not a huge fan of GM given their reputation for poor reliability over the last 30yrs, but I have to give credit where it's due. They're doing a great job with the styling of their latest offerings. I also have to credit them for offering interesting and unique color choices. Time will tell how the seemingly small and underpowered 1.5L turbo and CVT hold up over time. It's the same powertrain as the one in the Malibu, which has had some major mechanical issues.
We have a 2018 Equinox with the 1.5L turbo, no problem whatsoever, plenty of torque and fast enough. But, this is true for city driving (99% of our driving is city) but once on the highway, these small engines becomes a joke, even dangerous. So it depends what you use it for. City = Good / Highway = bad.
Definitely better than the last model and a good option for a small family *not looking for a 3rd row vehicle*. I see these selling really well for Chevy. Ty for the review!!
i heard some sort of rumor they were gonna produce a plugin hybrid variant with a 0-60 in the range of 5 to 6 seconds, which is interesting, though they are already producing a plugin hybrid equinox in other countrys
Needs a Premier trim level along with a 2.0 liter turbo option and an actual hybrid like literally every other competitor offers. They also are too restrictive on interior color options on most models
Solid car and solid pricing. New Rav4 non-prime can easily surpass 40K. Even the CRV Sport Touring is 40K but lacks 360 camera, ventilated seats, and so many other features offered on numerous rivals. And then we have the Rogue which somehow can go up to like 44K and its a non hybrid. Hopefully the RS and Activ trims remain under 40K with the pano roof, etc.
Of course the CRV Sport Touring is a hybrid model with standard AWD. The Equinox doesn’t have a hybrid and the prices provided were for the front wheel drive models.
@@1950rking The CRV hybrid 100% does not have a standard AWD system. AWD is a $1500 option on the hybrid trim levels. A fully electric vehicle should not cost as much as a basic hybrid. The CRV is a nice car but not worth it's price. Better options to be had. GM has used Jatco in the past for CVT. I wonder if GM is using Nissan/Jatco's new CVTX for this? Seems to be a winner so far, chain driven, beefed up substantially. Since Nissan started using these in the 2019/20 Altima and now Rogue, transmission issues have disappeared. That'd be a huge step up and should give them a direly needed boost to fuel economy. Current Equinox mpg is dreadful.

The new design looks much better than the previous design. Chevy needs to step up their game and offer a lager engine option and ditch the CV transmission in the FWD models. The 8-speed automatic is the only way to go for this size of vehicle. CVT's are so mundane and made for light weight economy vehicles. If you like your driving experience spirited and enjoy the sound of your engine going through the gears, then a CV transmission is not for you. I’m in the market for a small SUV and I have to admit that on looks alone I would consider the Equinox. But, Chevy really missed the boat when it comes to issues on my must have list. The small horsepower engine, specifically, the lack of a hybrid power train, the smaller space in back compared to the competition and the lack of wireless Apple CarPlay would keep me from buying it.

I am a Toyota guy, but will admit that Toyota has always built pretty boring and ugly cars. The current Rav4 is beyond dated, and has been ugly from the start, Im guessing the 2025 or 26 will be a much needed redesign. Even with boring ugly cars, they were always priced a little less than their competitors and reliability was the best. Now, they are priced above their competitors, and all the new 4 cy engines are having issues. There is NO WAY I am paying 35-40k for a Rav4. My 2018 was 24k out the door.
Did they fix their oil burning issues. I have 2013 just terrible. Had oil changed regularly at dealership. Then of course right after warranty started smelling oil burning. And took in in and was 2 quarts low and never had a oil light come. Even to this day when it gets low.

We just bought a new 2024 rav4 hybrid. Best hybrid system on the most reliable suv.
Does that model has a Toyota drive trance and motor no
Has there been an announcement on when this model will be out?
Not yet but we're expecting to hear from Chevy soon 👍
It's out now. You can order at the dealership and chevy website
Looks like another gorgeous yet most likely severely underpowered SUV from our friends at GM (assuming curb weight of +/- 3,500 lbs). Come on, GM, give us some POWER!
175 HP? You can get more than that in a Honda Civic. That is lowest in this segment, Fail.
❤great video, sadly GM can't bring PHEV version to US 😓It seems ev related products from China have been banned, even US brands made in China products got no exemption
But the Chevys are made in Mexico…
Can't wait for the GMC's equivalent
The pricing is actually not bad 😱😱
Do you all have an idea as to when this new 2025 will drop or when dealerships will start taking reservations?
