ICYMI: All-New 2025 Chevy Equinox Midnight Edition Review ruclips.net/video/1OGuis3QgTw/видео.htmlsi=ZqhPs2u879Cq8qUC Thank you for watching my 2025 Chevy Equinox review! Also, I did want to clarify that I didn’t have my phone hooked up yet, but the Equinox does have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you have any other questions I didn't answer, or wanted my opinion on something specific on this new Equinox, comment below so I can reply. Thanks again for watching, I'll see you on my next video!
We just picked up our 25 Equinox RS last night. It's a sweet ride! We got all the options with the panoramic sunroof in radiant red. $38000 on the road. Wife loves it!
Congratulations to you guys! I have been dying to get my hands on an RS, they are gorgeous, and still right now very rare. Honestly not a bad deal considering all the options that one has with sales tax figured in, I think you guys did good. Can’t wait to see one with all the fixings inside and the sunroof. Thank you for watching, enjoy your new ride!!
Great video. I need to know if anyone has been experiencing any weird smells coming through the vents on their brand new 2025 equinox? my wife purchased a brand new equinox 2025 about 3 months ago and every now and then for a brief few seconds, she would smell a fume like smell (best description we have so far) and then it goes away and its back to regular car smell. This only happens when the AC is on recirculating, temp medium and fan speed on medium. We brought it to the GM dealership and they replaced the cooling fan (mind u this is a brand new vehicle) which reduced the smell drastically but there are still faint smell every now and then. We don't know what we are inhaling and despite our efforts, the dealership still doesn't know what is causing the smell since they can't seem to replicate it so we are documenting everything to give them, since it is still under warranty. If anyone out there has just bought a chevy equinox LT 2025, please let me know if you have the same issue and what was the culprit and the fix please. This is driving us crazy. I know if this was a BMW and we were having these issues they would have probably done more for us.
Nice review. I am happy that GM has decided to redo the Equinox as it shows a commitment to keeping it around for a few years to go alongside the Equinox EV. FWIW, I bought my daughter a CPO 2019 Equinox Premier 2.0T four years ago and that vehicle has been rock-solid. She drove it across Canada last winter with zero worries. I kind of miss that 2.0T & 9 spd transaxle combo but I get that fuel economy is king in this market.
I’m happy too, because it does mean that it’s at least going to be around for the next 5 years hopefully! The 2.0L is so fun to drive, that was a very good pick. I loved the 2.0L in the Buick Regal TourX when I drove that. It’s a shame it had to die most likely due to Chevy trying to reduce their footprint across models. Thank you for watching!
@@CEALLIFORNIA My recollection is that GM pulled the 2.0T from the Equinox line-up because it wasn't a big seller. IMO, it's the best part of the vehicle and very much turned the 'Nox into a sleeper. Of course, I love sleepers...
@@djd2819 100%! A lot of times, at least for me, a vehicle is really only as good as its engine. This is why I’m not really crazy about EV’s yet. The reason I fell in love with cars is for their engines, not necessarily what surrounded them. A friend of mine has his 2.0L Equinox Premier up to 70k miles, and besides a few check engine light hiccups, the car has been flawless and he doesn’t always drive it like a grandpa, so that’s saying something. The 2.0L was one of GM’s greatest passenger vehicle engines of recent memory. To anyone that still has one, hang onto it!
I just bought a new 2024 LT AWD last November after buying a new 2016 LS AWD. I can wait a few more years before buying another, but looks like something I will buy in the future.
I think that’s a good plan. Incentives have been very strong on the ‘23 and ‘24 Equinoxes so I think it was a good time to buy. Then when you’re ready to buy this body style, I’d imagine some good incentives will be available by then as well. Enjoy your Equinox, thank you for watching!
Thank you jrod! Good to see you on another video, sometimes these thumbnails work out GREAT and this video was one of those days, thank you for watching!
It looks great inside and out! I’d definitely go for the AWD since I don’t mind the drop in fuel economy. I love how they dressed up the interior even on the base model this time around. Air vents look amazing, controls and switches all look of higher build quality than media with a huge update in tech, my only complaints from the last generation. Love the design!!
I'm going for a all wheel drive RS weather wise it has a mode feature that can switch to 2 wheel drive whenever I want. You know tha little knob you see in the RS and Activ pre-production pictures.
I was looking and Mazdas and Subarus. I saw a pic of the 25 terrain and equinox and loved the more boxy look. I test drove an Activ and was pleasantly surprised. Debating getting a killer deal on a 23-24 or saving for a lease on a 25
That’s a hard decision to make. As much as I’d love to get a great deal on ‘23-‘24, that general body style has just been out so long that to me it just looks a little “stale” if you will. I think the ‘25 is worth the wait but the depreciation will certainly be higher since incentives aren’t really being offered much yet. Also the Mazda CX-5 with the N/A 2.5L is a wonderful option as well. Either way I know you’ll enjoy your new ride, thank you for watching!
Thanks for a thorough video on this equinox. Can’t wait for the RS model to arrive. Does the outside mirror have turn signal lights on them?? Good to see the power with the engine as well. Great video.
I’m hoping to get my hands on an RS soon, they definitely look really cool. The outside of the mirror doesn’t have an indicator on them unfortunately. I myself usually like that on my vehicles as well! Thank you the nice words, I’m glad you enjoyed the review!
Great review Ceall! Chevy did a great job with the refresh on the Equinox for sure. It has (to me) a premium upscale kind of look now and for the price you really get a lot of features. Can't beat the finance rate either! We only got up to 102 here today and it's supposed to stay this way for at least the next week which makes me happy. How is everything going over on your side? Hope all is well brother and take care!
Thanks James! Good to hear from you again man. I really think so too, really liked the wheels on this LT too, they give the car a great stance. Here we were at 85 today, did a little swimming in the pool, and we’re camping! All is well today, I had a great day brother, I hope you do as well!
Is the interior quiet? Road/tire noise? Also, some new features on the 2025 -safety features like rear cross traffic automatic braking, and improved blind spot monitoring; also standard heated steering wheel (for us Northerners). I really do want a quiet interior. Thank you for a great video.
@@clevelog The rear cross traffic and blind spot monitoring works very well! The road noise I would say is comparable to the 2024 Equinox. If you step up to the Midnight Pkg. w/ the 19” wheels, the road noise is quite apparent in that model. These 17” wheels aren’t bad though! Thank you for watching and thank you very much for the nice words!
I have 2025 Equinox RS very quiet and comfortable inside while driving. The ride is very smooth even with 19" wheels. The quality of interior is very nice. Practically everything about the 25 is different from the 2024. Very nice car. Just turned 1000 miles
I think I would have more issues with the new shifter on the steering column than the electronic light switch. Glad it still has foggies and the front/360 camera on mid trim. Also glad the fuel tank did not change too much! 14.8/15.6 gallons is small but the not the worst.
I do love some good fog lights myself! Glad they didn’t cost cut and get rid of them for the mid-range model. You know when I first got in, I HATED the shifter, and now that I’ve been in a few models that have it, it’s not bad. Goes in and out of gear quicker than the old shifter too, I’m surprised with it overall! Thank you for watching!
It is very similar to the Mercedes style shifter! The shifter itself in the hand doesn’t feel as high end obviously, but it does work just as well going in and out of gear as the Mercedes shifter does. Thank you for watching!
Excellent review on the Equinox. That option package for $1085, is mandatory on all start up production models. Not happy w CVT being used in FWD models 😮. I'm keeping my 22 Equinox LT FWD with the 6 speed automatic. ❤❤
I’ve seen it on each Equinox I’ve seen so far so that makes sense. I’m not happy about it either, desperately hoping GM would bring back the 6-speed transmission next year but I don’t think that’ll happen 😕 I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in keeping yours, I like that 6-speed a lot better as well!
Your review was well done based on the material you have to work from. Cannot believe that there are still Equinox models that have fuel doors and start buttons in 2025. These models appear to be dying out as presented. The GM and federal Incentives are better with the other Equinox LT and RS models.
Thank you for the kind words! Yeah the 2024 models will definitely have better incentives right now. In some markets they’re leasing cheaper than Trax’s and Trailblazer’s believe it or not. Thank you for watching!
Gm shouldve kept the 2.0 engine! 250hp should've been standard! Andy why didn't they add turn signals on the mirrors? And a prop rod in 2024 is crazy! But finally a middle headrest for the rear seats!!
I really miss that 2.0L engine too, what a blast it was to drive! I was also a little disappointed by no turn signal indicators on the mirrors. Would love to see some shocks/springs on this hood as well, makes everything more convenient. Thank you for watching!
You’re just as baffled as I am, I just tried running through a build and couldn’t find it either. Seems a little odd considering this is one step up from the Trailblazer in the food chain. Thank you for watching!
I’m sorry brother! This day was so crazy, had to go to 3 dealers to find this car! 😂 They’re still some what tough to come by right now. Thanks for watching man!
If they could at least give us the 6-speed from the last generation that would be better, it even gets better gas mileage than the CVT. I don’t know what GM was thinking. Thank you for watching!
Am I the only one who dislikes the black interior pillars and ceiling? Seems like that’s the trend nowadays. I sat in one and it feels cave-like. Sort of depressing. Any lighter color options?
When I’m playing with the build options on the configurator, when selecting the tan interior instead of the black interior, the pillars don’t appear to get lighter in color. Maybe the headliner color is the same in all trims to keep costs low. Thank you for watching!
We were looking at this last night to replace her Murano. Took this out for test ride, all I can say no thank you, waaaay under powered. 0-60 is done on a calendar and I thought it was a CVT. Before I get comments it was the AWD LT loaded.
Coming from that awesome V6, it’s hard to find something that has that kind of power in this segment. You could always look at the 2.0L in the Cadillac XT4. The build quality inside is awesome and the 2.0L takes off like a rocket! I can’t speak on behalf of Cadillac’s electronics though, don’t have much experience with them as far as reliability is concerned. The 2.0L is also available in some older Equinox’s as well. My pick for a compact SUV would be a 2020+ CPO Mazda CX-5 with the N/A 2.5L and the 6-speed transmission. It’s a great car! Thank you for watching!
The New 2025 chevy trax > @ $ 21-25.000 dollars < ...is the Best Bang for the Dollar with the same Engine and Dashboard as the new Equinox, WITHOUT the rubber band CVT Transmission.......(The 6 speed works better in the Chevy Trax.)...your welcome
You’re 100% on the money, the Trax is a wonderful value! A traditional transmission is a huge plus, and how affordable it is is almost unbelievable in times like these. Love the new Trax, thank you for watching!
Personally, I prefer my 2.0 turbo. I've test driven the 1.5, there is a massive difference in HP and TQ between the 2. Prior to the 2.0, Chevy use to offer the option to get an Equinox with the sporty 320hp V-6 which was the most powerful of the engines offered for the Equinox. For whatever reason, they decided to pull that engine and only use it in the Traverse or Blazer which was really disappointing.
The 2.0 is way better than the 1.5 like you said, there’s really no comparison. It is such a fun engine, and while I miss the V6 being offered in the Equinox, the 2.0 was a great engine to have in the lineup, so it is sad to see that gone now as well. I just don’t think the 1.5 is powerful enough for the Equinox, then again the Honda CR-V is no speed demon either, so it’s not the only one in this class. Thank you for watching!
The new Trax is not only really great looking, but it’s an insane bargain for where they have it priced! I hope you enjoy your new ride, thank you for watching!
@@Tdburn That’s my only complaint on the new Trax. I know they did it to keep costs as low as possible, but an AWD option would’ve made it a little more appealing. Thank you for watching!
@@Tdburn I don't want AWD, living in major cities, there's no need at all. It's just another complex component to break and waste more gas. If you need AWD, just pay more for the smaller trailblazer
We have a Trax that comes in for regular service where I work. The guy who owns it (2024) is a regional sales rep that has a 4 state territory so he puts lots of miles on it really fast. Currently at 84k miles and going strong but one thing we did notice for these 3-cylinder, direct injected, turbo, wet belt engines is that there is a fair amount of fuel dilution to the point that we recommended that he go with 3000 mile oil change intervals rather that the 7500 mile interval that's mentioned in the car manual and that was based on his first visit to us for service at 40k miles (previously he had been going to the dealership) and at that time he had approximately 5800 miles on that batch of motor oil but we noticed that the oil had thinned out so much by that point that it was an entire grade lower (on the low side of a 5w-20) even though the oil was actually a 5w-30 and the fuel content was excessive as well which is definitely not good for the engine/turbo/wetbelt so we changed out that oil but not before showing him the state of that oil after which he agreed to switch to 3000 mile oil changes. Since then, he's been getting the oil changed faithfully between 3 to 3.5k and there is a definite difference in the condition of the motor oil which is now staying within grade and fuel dilution is now within reason. This is one of the few cars on the road today that because of its set-up being a direct injection, turbo 3-cylinder with a wetbelt design if you are planning on keeping it long term, you'll be doing yourself a favor in ignoring the maintenance manual recommended 7500 mile oil change and instead cut that in half. I've personally seen what happens to the motor oil in these cars when taken past 5k on the same batch and it's basically a game of Russian roulette. If you do your own oil changes then I recommend you go with a GTL formulation such as Pennzoil ULTRA platinum since that base formulation is a bit better at resisting fuel dilution. Happy motoring!
The AWD version still has 203lb.ft. and comes with an 8-speed automatic. They detuned the 1.5L for the FWD model’s CVT transmission setup. Thank you for watching!
Your guess is as good as mine! My only thought for this move to make sense, is that a CVT is cheaper to manufacture than the 6-speed/8-speed? That’s the last conclusion that I can think of, that would make them use this in this new body style. Thank you for watching!
I have a 2023 equinox awd lt as a company vehixle, I put over 90k on it in a year. I have a 2025 on order, it looks improved in pretty much every way. The 23 is one of my least favorite vehicles. It has awful seats, useless infotainment and horrible fuel economy. Poor build quality, numerous powertrain issues and just overall a terrible driving experience. I hope the 8 speed helps with power and economy, out west with 80 mph speed limits i get 23 mpg highway and its SLOW. I had a 2019 Rav4 AWD prior to this that got 36mpg and was significantly quicker, also had a lot more cargo room and much more comfortable seats. Wish GM would just throw the 1.5t in the trash, mine eats coil packs, drinks oil, guzzles gas and my favorite feature - the IC freezes and you lose the turbo often in winter. It has about 90hp when that happens. I really don't know how GM made an engine with turbo lag, poor fuel economy all while making it unreliable Appreciate the detailed review and information greatly!
Man I am sorry to hear that the ‘23 Equinox hasn’t exactly been kind to you and it really sucks when it’s a company vehicle because you really don’t have much say in what you get. The 1.5L over the years has not been known to be the most reliable engine like you said. I’m glad someone else also hates the cardboard feeling seats, they’re really stiff. Thank you for the nice words and thank you for watching! I hope the 2025 is better to you when it comes in!
@@CEALLIFORNIA thank you! It's amazing, they really do just lack padding. I thought they might break in over time but the seats have not improved. If it was my choice, I would definitely go a different direction. The shifter placement, cupholder design and center console look greatly improved. I'll let you know how the seats are hopefully soon!
@@tommyistommy As much as I will miss the shifter in the middle, I do like how much storage space it has opened up in the center by putting the shifter on the steering column. Keep me filled in, I’d like to know how comfy they are on a road trip!
If you have 2 kids, you can make the Equinox work. Anything more than 2 kids and I would certainly buy the Traverse. I hope this helps, thank you for watching!
I agree. It was a transmission that they already had that was already being used with this engine, and then just leave the 8-speed for the AWD. Thank you for watching!
Did I hear correctly that in order to use google maps you have to subscribe for $25/mo? I can maybe understand that if you are not even running off your phone with apple carplay (and using the car's connection to cell towers). If I have to pay to see my google maps on my car's screen, then these GM products are not going to work for me!
If you are used to using your cellphone’s maps, I have heard from some viewers that you can get your phone to mirror up to the screen that is in the dash, so in that case you don’t have to pay for the Google Maps subscription if you don’t want to, they’re just a good option for someone who doesn’t have a smartphone. Thank you for watching!
The price is a steal...but why putting all the controls in the screen tho, TC should be a button not a touch, The amount of time you have to interact with the touchscreen to find the controls ..yikes
Nothing like traveling at 60mph and having to go through a touchscreen to find some controls that should be second nature to find like they have been for years 😂 Thank you for watching!
Not every detail of these reviews will be perfect as I don’t get to spend an extended period of time with the cars. It really is just my goal to give viewers a good idea at what a car looks like before they head to the dealer. Thank you for watching!
I would only be afraid to pick up an AWD version because it still kinda looks like a mom car! I want a new, nicely loaded 35k SUV that does NOT LOOK LIKE A SCHOOL BUS OR MINIVAN!😂😂
I would tell you to buy a Jeep, but I wouldn’t want to put you in something that’s unreliable 😂 The only option I can think of that actually has sex appeal that I would personally drive is a Range Rover Evoque. Maybe not the most reliable either, but DAMN good looking! Pick one up pre-owned with a CPO warranty! 😂 Thank you for watching!
sadly for some reason Chevy didn't install a 12v plug in for the center console for this new model year. Anyone with a dash cam might have to figure out another option.
Any radar detector users as well, going to have to get it installed/hard wired to the electrical wire running to the rear view mirror. I like having a 12V plug in the car, I feel like there’s still a lot of need for it even in today’s digital age. Thank you for watching!
I was as baffled as you are, I’m not a fan of that move, I can’t stand CVT’s. For that reason, the AWD is the only way I’m buying the Equinox. Thank you for watching!
$ 25 a month to have google maps on the screen ? did I hear that right ? no wireless AC-Play or Android Auto ? Headlights controlled in the screen ( STILL ? ) after all the complaints ? and that trans Shifter is a Joke...but hey, to each their own huh ? I do appreciate ALL your reveiws.
That is the case with this new Equinox, no more built in navigation like us old-schoolers are used to. I like built-in navigation a lot better than I like the google maps personally. I didn’t have my phone hooked up, but it does have wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Headlights controlled in the screen just like the Traverse, it drives me MAD!! I can’t tell which shifter I like better yet, time will tell, but I didn’t mind this weird little column shifter as much as I thought I would. Thanks for watching again Abell, sometime this year we will get that Ranger Raptor review in!
Wheres the cool levers in the back to fold down the back seats? That sucks. Only 28mpg highway??? - 2 more mpg than city?😑 Should be over 30mpg highway. Volume knob looks like a pita to reach for like on the trax. Outside looks better, inside not so much....
@@roadrunnerorange I didn’t notice that at the time, but I miss those levers too, they were super convenient. The only reason I can gather that they went with the CVT transmission for is for cost savings, because it obviously didn’t improve fuel economy. Hoping they could at least put the 6-speed on the FWD models for us in the future. Thank you for watching!
Yeah, time will tell what this engine and this whole car will be like in the long term. The 1.5 has been in the Equinox for quite some time, but that doesn’t mean it’s problem free, so I hope that after 7-8 years of production that they have all this engine’s kinks worked out for the consumer. Thank you for watching!
@@lilred1107 The Equinox/Malibu 1.5L over the years has been known for charge air cooler tube failure, having the “engine power reduced” message appear and the car going into “limp mode” for sometimes seemingly no reason, issues with the turbo in cold weather, etc. Thank you for watching!
2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox received above-average reliability verdict by Consumer Reports, #2 most-reliable after Toyota RAV4. Better than Honda CR-V too.
They are cool looking, but perhaps they were an afterthought that they added to try to make the interior cooler. They do look a little funny in an SUV like this. Thank you for watching!
It does look incredible, but time will tell as to how this CVT holds up, I’m a little nervous. I hope it fairs well for whoever purchases one. Thank you for watching!
Has the brain trust @ GM lost its collective mind!? 1.3L Turbo w/ a CVT Transmission!? I’d buy A GM vehicle, NOT a Nissan!! I’m CERTAINLY happy I no longer consider wasting money on these vehicles…
I am also very disappointed in the choice for a CVT transmission on the FWD models. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. The AWD is 100% the only one I would consider. Thank you for watching!
Once again, chevy has streamline their vehicles to look exactly alike in every vehicle, WHICH I HATE!! Same steering wheel, same design on the inside and outside of their more expensive vehicles. There used to be a time that you could sit in a Tahoe and have a different interior than chevy cheaper models. I know since I had owned several Tahoes over the years. The taillights, the front used to have different designs, now they are all the same. The same steering he is previewing today is going to be in the 2025 Tahoe. It's the same in the traverse already. It's ridiculous, it's the cheapest way out for chevy to charge maximum prices while making the same design for their cheapest vehicles to their most expensive vehicles. I know I keep harping on the steering wheel but all they have to do is add a couple of buttons on the Tahoe, slap 100 grand on it and there you go, you got the same steering wheel of the equinox. There should be some difference between the interior and exterior of vehicles. I don't like my vehicles, if I am paying a lot of money, to look like the cheapest car they make. I want something different than all the rest!!
Remember the 2006-2013 era of GM? I couldn’t stand it. Whether you got in a Pontiac G6 or a Chevy Tahoe, you had the same radio and a very similar steering wheel to the rest of the vehicle line up. This time it was done a lot better so I don’t mind quite as much, but you’re right, from Equinox to Tahoe it would be nice if there was SOME kind of change. Thank you for watching!
Youre spot on, I don’t know why all of them seem to be so problematic from the big 3. I miss Chevy’s 2.0 Turbo in the Equinox. That motor actually wasn’t all that bad. Thank you for watching!
I did like the look of the ‘16-‘17 model’s exterior with those refreshed headlights and taillights, and the 2017+ models were great because their styling was pretty inoffensive to most. The styling on the 2025 models is a little bit should I say “extra”, compared to the last generation, so this will not be everyone cup of tea like the last generation was for sure! Thank you for watching!
I think for the last few years the Equinox’s have been in the low 30’s for the LT model as it is. So I thought for everything coming standard+any add-ons that they kept the price pretty reasonable in this day and age. But price is subjective for sure. Thank you for watching!
If I was in the market for an SUV in this class, I would definitely be going with the Mazda CX-5 with the N/A 2.5L and 6-speed transmission. A great, simple powertrain and an incredible exterior and interior as well.
According to some posts in forums online I was reading, yes! This is what some owners of these new-gen GM vehicles were saying. It’s WILD! Too much money for these services that I feel most of us take for granted at this point. Thank you for watching!
I don't see why anyone would buy this over the refreshed Rogue. While I love the screens an the AC vents, the Rogue gets 37mpg highway with its 1.5T that makes over 200hp and 225ftlbs, while the Equinox's 1.5T does only 28mpg and 175hp? Ew, brotha, ew!
Haha! I like the meme reference. Personally, I haven’t been super pleased with Nissan’s build quality in their passenger vehicles in the last few years. I know Chevy isn’t worlds better, but I do have more confidence in a Chevy than a Nissan. HOWEVER, those awesome performance numbers out of the Rogue motor can’t go unnoticed, those are actually really good numbers for an SUV in this class. Thank you for watching another video, it’s good to see you again!

Nissan have bad tranmission
I’m not a fan of the CVT’s that are found in a lot of Nissan’s passenger vehicles either.
Why are they having trouble with the transmissions in the new 25s?

The 2025 RS is much quieter inside.. better on the road bumps than the previous 2023 which hit pretty hard comparatively.
Chevy hit the nail on the head. Very good.

Loving the thumbnail style for this video👍great work 🚙
Thank you jrod!
@@pawalker147 I agree, the look of this new Equinox is beautiful! I’d also go AWD hands down. Thank you for watching!
I'm going for a all wheel drive RS weather wise it has a mode feature that can switch to 2 wheel drive whenever I want. You know tha little knob you see in the RS and Activ pre-production pictures.
@@maverickhunterjames Looking to review an Activ or RS very soon as well!
I suggest buy 24 without cvt. I have 21 equinox so far so good with 48000 miles.
Thank you the nice words, I’m glad you enjoyed the review!
just picked up my new LT today. the cloth seats are insanely comfortable. my previous cloth blazer seats really sucked. lol
They are super cushy, almost couch like 😂 I think these new seats are awesome, thank you for watching! Enjoy your new ride!
Jesse, did your LT come with roof rails? I've seen some UT videos on LT's where the rails are not there, others show the rails.
Lots of car reviewers out there, but I come here for a fellow tall person's perspective 💪
You are awesome, thank you for watching another video!
Good review and comparison.

Great review
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it!
Great review !
Thank you I appreciate that! Thank you for watching!
When I saw the shifter and steering wheel paddles, I noticed to how it's similar to the ones on my sister's Mercedes ML 350.

Why is there no tow package available when the smaller trailblazer has it available?
You’re just as baffled as I am, I just tried running through a build and couldn’t find it either. Seems a little odd considering this is one step up from the Trailblazer in the food chain. Thank you for watching!

I have a ‘23 Equinox. Why they went with a CVT is beyond my comprehension. Absolutely will hurt sales. Looks nice though for a refresh.
If they could at least give us the 6-speed from the last generation that would be better, it even gets better gas mileage than the CVT. I don’t know what GM was thinking. Thank you for watching!
The 2025 RS has an 8 speed.

I love my LT
We went a little off script went with SantaCruz with 2.5l turbo built in near my sons backyard of Alabama.

CVT Transmission.......(The 6 speed works better in the Chevy Trax.)...your welcome
Probably EPA fuel requirements.
You can't even get the V-6 in the Traverse anymore, it's 2.5L turbo 4cyl.
@@stevehoch9528 Wow, so the only mid model that has the 3.6 option now is the Blazer and Cadillac XT5.

What happen to the 1.5 liters 203 ft. Lb. of torque that it had?
The AWD version still has 203lb.ft. and comes with an 8-speed automatic. They detuned the 1.5L for the FWD model’s CVT transmission setup. Thank you for watching!
@@CEALLIFORNIA Wow!! They figured that the CVT would be to weak to handle an extra 19 ft. Lbs. of torque!! 😄
@drift3rkid66 I mean that’s the only explanation I can think of on why the power on CVT model would be lower. I don’t know why else they would do it.
I don’t understand why they switched to a CVT if the same engine gets worse mileage.
I really don't know how GM made an engine with turbo lag, poor fuel economy all while making it unreliable
Appreciate the detailed review and information greatly!
Man I am sorry to hear that the ‘23 Equinox hasn’t exactly been kind to you and it really sucks when it’s a company vehicle because you really don’t have much say in what you get.
It seems non of the big theee can make a reliable small turbo engine. Talking about the 1 liter engines. So it’s a no for this one.
Youre spot on, I don’t know why all of them seem to be so problematic from the big 3. I miss Chevy’s 2.0 Turbo in the Equinox. That motor actually wasn’t all that bad. Thank you for watching!

I think for the last few years the Equinox’s have been in the low 30’s for the LT model as it is. So I thought for everything coming standard+any add-ons that they kept the price pretty reasonable in this day and age. But price is subjective for sure. Thank you for watching!

In my opinion they ruined a nice vehicle by putting a crap engine in it.
