Thank you for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it, this was the first time I tried this. Thank you for watching, I’m glad you’re enjoying your Equinox!
Another fantastic video on the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox Midnight Edition. I think you for covering all the important points on this vehicle. Lots of nice pictures of key points.
Thank you very much and thank you for watching another review, I wanted to break these packages down the best I could, I’m happy you enjoyed it! Thank you again for watching!
I have 2 equinoxes with 17" and 19" wheels. The 19s you feel EVERY BUMP and the tires cost around $1k. The 17s ride MUCH better - and cost around $600.
The 19” wheels road noise was significantly louder than the 17” wheels. Depending on how much road noise the buyer is used to, that should also sway their decision besides the aesthetics. Thank you for watching!
Those 17" tires probably last twice as long too. I really don't see the point in putting expensive big wheels and low-profile tires on economical cars. It completely defeats the purpose since they cost twice as much and last half as long. I'll take the 17's!
@Ixnay937 They’ll also be better in the snow, I didn’t account for that, these 19” wheels look so nice that I forgot to think of that 😂 Thank you for watching!
I loved this video!!! I really enjoyed how you highlighted each item the Convenience Package II comes with. No other reviewer I know of does this. I thought this video was very well thought-out. I am now a subscriber.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video, I tried my best to really itemize these packages for you guys. Thank you for the kind words, I look forward to seeing you on my future reviews! 🙂
Great video. I need to know if anyone has been experiencing any weird smells coming through the vents on their brand new 2025 equinox? my wife purchased a brand new equinox 2025 about 3 months ago and every now and then for a brief few seconds, she would smell a fume like smell (best description we have so far) and then it goes away and its back to regular car smell. This only happens when the AC is on recirculating, temp medium and fan speed on medium. We brought it to the GM dealership and they replaced the cooling fan (mind u this is a brand new vehicle) which reduced the smell drastically but there are still faint smell every now and then. We don't know what we are inhaling and despite our efforts, the dealership still doesn't know what is causing the smell since they can't seem to replicate it so we are documenting everything to give them, since it is still under warranty. If anyone out there has just bought a chevy equinox LT 2025, please let me know if you have the same issue and what was the culprit and the fix please. This is driving us crazy. I know if this was a BMW and we were having these issues they would have probably done more for us.
I’m sorry to hear the news, I wish there was some knowledge I could offer on this 😕 I suppose you could still give it some time to see if the smell goes away even though it has already been quite some time. If it bothers you enough you may have no option but to trade the car in unfortunately even though that would be really inconvenient. I hope you can get it sorted out, I’m sorry that’s happening. Thank you for watching!
Great review Ceall! I generally don't like the black optics packages but on this suv with this color looks great. I would skip the convenience package as well. The 2 different transmissions is just odd to me unless there is some functional reason due to all wheel drive. It did look like you were pretty warm there. We've had 2 long heatwaves so far and luckily the AC has been keeping me nice and cool. I did have to go out last week and it was118 out but my ride and cooled seats were perfect. Unless I move to the north pole I will not own a car without them lol! Hoping that you have been doing great and enjoying life brother!
It does look awesome on this new body style Equinox man! That road noise is noticeably louder on these wheels than it was on the 17” wheels, but I’m contemplating and thinking I could still live with it for how good they look 😂 The 2 different transmissions makes me scratch my head too, like I said the only reason I could think of is them saving money by using it. I have been SO hot this summer, working outside is no joke. It’s been a long year with a lot of hard work, but this week we received some good news, we may be moving so we’re excited man, it’s been a good year! Always good to hear from you James!
Thanks for all of your honest information in this video. Waiting for the RS model to come into dealers soon. We have a 2014 equinox 3.6 engine and wondering how the 1.5 will compare. We only get around 17 miles to the gallon now.
No problem at all, I appreciate you coming back to watch another review!! The V6 was awesome in that generation, but it definitely was a thirsty engine. The 1.5L should have all the get up and go you need, especially if you get the AWD version with the 8-speed. I will be reviewing the RS when it hits dealer lots, I can’t wait. Thank you again for watching!
Nice review! I would definitely get the midnight package and i would be getting AWD. I dont think i would ever get a 2wd vehicle in NY unless its a summer car only
The road noise was a little louder than I expected with the 19” wheels, but I think I would suck it up and buy it anyway just to have a cool look to the car 😂 Thank you for watching another review man!
Same here, loved the midnight edition package, but the convenience package wasn’t an end all be all for me. Ventilated seats with available heated rear seats can be had on the Activ/RS trims. Thank you for watching!
That is true, I’m not seeing the Bose badge on these speakers which was unfortunate. I did test the audio at full volume and while it was acceptable, it wasn’t a sound that went above and beyond. Thank you for watching!
It definitely will and I think they sell more FWD models than people expect, so there will be a fair amount of CVT Equinoxes on the road. I definitely would go AWD on this new gen. Thank you for watching, I hope your ‘23 runs well for many years come!
I've heard the exact opposite as to why Chevy used the 6-speed automatic in the Trax instead of the CVT that's in the FWD version of the Trailblazer, as the 6-speed is cheaper to produce since it's been around a lot longer than GM's newer CVT. Maybe they're allocating more 6-speeds to the Trax? Then again, maybe a 6-speed in a compact crossover might make it seem dated.
I still see the 6-speed as a totally viable and acceptable transmission for the Equinox, since it is further up in the food chain I think it certainly deserves it. These are interesting points that I didn’t think about, thank you for watching!
Up grade in looks for this vehicle, but I believe problem is in power train, mainly the engine and transmission ,is the same and a little under powered.
I would love to the 2.0L make a return, it made the Equinox such a little rocket! I’m not as enthusiastic about the 1.5L either. Thank you for watching!
It’s not available on the 2025 unfortunately. Only available on the Equinox EV at the moment. Not sure why they did that as super cruise works pretty great on a lot of their other vehicles I tested. I’m sure we’ll see it on the 2026 Equinox. Thank you for watching!
So far I have not seen a 2025 redline edition. Closest package I can see to that is getting an RS trim. That’s a shame because I really liked the redline package, reminded me of the Chevy’s of old. Thank you for watching!
I have the 2021 Trailblazer Activ. Now height wise comparison, is it taller? I’m trying to gauge where I’ll stand with it. How tall are you? I’m 5”5 I just wanted something slightly bigger than what I have. My wife has the 2025 Trax Activ and we like the sleek and length.
@@pandamonium21inc The seat height of the Equinox has got to be very close if not identical to the Trailblazer, considering the Trailblazer is decently high off the ground for what it is. My money is on that the seat heights are pretty much the same. I am 6’2” if that helps any. The biggest thing you’ll really pick up space on is maybe a little interior width. The 2025 Equinox is 74.9” wide, while the Trailblazer is only 71.2” wide. The new Trax design has been absolutely awesome, great looking car for a great price. Thank you for watching, I hope this helps!
Nice details in the vid thank you. GM is all over the place with trims and models and power plants. Seems like they would sell better and more volume to standardize more. I men how many cuvs and mid? and full size suvs you need? with 300 trims, packages and engines Equinox hold zero value and should be kept in mind when you add top trims vs the competition. All that and still have the driver floor tunnel hump... fricken frick lol
Thank you very much for the kind words! GM has always been in love with packages and options, they certainly haven’t changed their mind one bit 😂 Really at the very least could we get a 6-speed for the FWD models? That is all I ask GM, PLEASE! 😂 Thank you for watching!
I will have to test the Activ and the RS soon to see if I see them. I know the Bose are available on the larger models like the Traverse, Acadia, and Enclave. Thank you for watching!
I think regardless of if it’s chrome or painted body color, it is made of the same material, but it’s gonna be a personal preference whether the buyer wants chrome or painted. When buying a truck, I prefer chrome, but with a car I don’t mind some things paint matched. Thank you for watching!
America doesn’t like the car, they don’t like the wagon, they like the capsule-shaped SUV 😂 The sales show, and so the manufacturers follow, it’s a sad truth unfortunately. Thank you for watching!
@marklloyd4153 My ‘21 Silverado with the 2.7L Turbo is about to hit 53k miles. Besides a throttle body that had to be replaced at 32k miles under warranty, it has been an AWESOME truck. I didn’t expect much out of this truck when I bought it, to be honest I was a little nervous, but it has proven to be an awesome truck even while towing. The new high-output 2.7L though, I don’t know if I trust as much. My preferred choice in the compact SUV segment would be the Mazda CX-5 with the N/A 2.5 and 6-speed transmission. I have to admit I’d buy one of those before an Equinox.
@@CEALLIFORNIA agree I’ve recommended two of my friends to buy the CX5 . Old school engine and transmission . I’d also recommend the current RAV 4 as reliable but I’d prefer the CX5its dinner to drive and very nice interior
I’m glad someone else knows about what a great car the CX-5 is. That old school 2.5 and that awesome, traditional 6-speed transmission is where it’s at! I drove the 2024 RAV4 Limited and wasn’t as pleased with its 8-speed, but I’ll still take an 8-speed over a CVT any day!
You’re not the first one I’ve heard say that either. I myself like, only because it looks a little less boring than the last generation did. I think the last gen’s design was just getting so tired after a while. Thank you for watching!
