Excellent ,,, maybe my next job . Speaker wires do actually matter a lot , when the + on the out put of the amp is connected to the + on the speaker a bass kick as an example pushes the speaker cone forwards , thats usually how they are designed to work , and generally speaking you want all the cones going in the same direction at the same time , or you start to get something called phase cancellation , which basically robs you of sound pressure ,,, known as volume.
Yes, the phase is what’s important. If you have one wired backwards then they all need to be wired backwards otherwise they effectively cancel each other out. The amp pushes and pulls the cone in and out equal amounts at the frequency of the sound. The note is dictated by the amount of times it does it per second, and the volume is dictated by how far it moves. If the speaker is wired opposite phase then the note will start with pulling rather than pushing the cone or vice versa, but will still work fine as long as all speakers are wired in the same phase.

Yes I agree positive push have an importance, but a big one on a system like this. Most of them will sit about 20mm further back than this one I suspect. I think it’s just exaggerated here because of the way it doesn’t really fit right lol. On the other hand it doesn’t actually get in the way when driving.

Oh, if only i had watched this informative educational video before i fitted a single din mp3 bluetooth head unit in my C1 Van Conversion i bought off Amazon for £25! It would have been so much easier to fit........bugger 😁

No mate, this is a head unit that replaces the original radio and plugs into the radio wiring l. If it was plugged it it he obd2 port it wouldn’t connect to the speakers/aerial etc.
If you’re fitting it to one of these cars, then look for one with the ISO type connectors. Two plugs, it’s the most common type of connector that radios come with.
This one is a 7” I think, but it’s not the best design. Most of them fit better and further away from the indicator stalk. This still doesn’t cause any issue though.
Hard to say without them in front of me but one plug is the speakers, and the other is the power etc. iirc white and blue are the power feeds, one permanent and one ignition but can’t remember for sure.

This is a Wish.coke special I think. The satnav is pretty shite, but it’s android so cold download a different one if hooked up to a hotspot but I’ve never bothered. Connectivity it works fine with my iPhone Sound quality is noticeably better than the original stereo, but not the best when compared to others. I personally prefer pioneer head units fit best sound quality. If you’re looking for one, you’re probably best off finding one that plugs straight into the original wiring which are standard iso connectors.
Any idea on how to connect every cable to the right other cable without any knowledge in this type of things? Isn’t there any adaptor to buy without the need to do all the work you did? Thanks
Tbh most head units these days will have the standard plugs on and plug straight in to a lot of cars, and others you can usually get a loom adapter. The reason I had to cut the wires on mine was because I had no loom adapter and it’s a cheap Chineese head unit so finding one for it could have been difficult.
I would do but the head unit was a gift off a friend, and the fascia was 2nd hand off Facebook market place. I think both items can be bought on sites like alibaba/wish etc though.

Hiya mate love the vids, I tried to install a double din to my 107 but the fascia does not clip in properly to the dash, it has all 4 blue clips but just doesn’t clip in properly! Any help would be appreciated 👍🏻

Pioneer are my favourite brand when it comes to head units. The sound quality of them is always great in my experience, and they usually have the most adjustment for EQ/HPF/LPF/phase reversal etc in settings.
I was actually given it so don’t know where it came from, but it’s just a generic Chinese double din android unit. They’re available on places like eBay, Amazon and Wish etc.
