- In today’s video, I install a set of reversing sensors to Project C1. This seems to be a popular question on the C1/107/Aygo owners forums, and it is something that I have done before to a C1 owned by a family member, so I thought that I’d put my practical knowledge of this procedure to some good use and try to answer some frequently asked questions. The link to the comprehensive kit that I used is shown below.

Thanks for the video, I was thinking about fitting some to my daughters c1 when I came across it. Looks straight forward. Thanks
Wonderful guidance. Teach very well.
Love it.
Now I'm confident to install by my self.
That’s great to hear, thank you 😊
Your're simply the best, great video 😊
Thank you 😊
I wish there was a permanent live , be so handy to fit a boot light! I only have two sensors on my rear parking, but they are incredibly wide angle, they actually do read sideways. Rain can make them beep unfortunately
A permanent live can be arranged quite easily. I intend to fit a boot light at some point, thinking of using the door switch for the interior light to fit into the rear bulk head to switch it.
This video was recorded a couple of months ago now and they’ve performed flawlessly. I’m actually quite surprised and impressed at how they’ve performed.
Super from Belgium 👍🏻
Great video. Congratulations
Thank you 👍🏻
This could be a very nice video .but you have jumped out the most important part of the beginning. How to remove the bumper first? That would be the main issue here. How many bolts, screws, or clips to remove, and where they are? Then you could do the electrical part. Also, I am wondering if it is possible to only remove the black rubbery part on the bumper which are the sensor holes made on it, instead of removing all the lights and the bumper? Because if that is possible we have still plenty of access area to feed all 4 sensor cables to the inside of the boot Regards.
The bumper has been removed in a few previous videos, particularly the rear leaks resolution video. Go check that video out to see how it’s done.
The black insert can be removed, but is easiest removed when the bumper is off. I suppose it could be removed with the bumper in, but you’d need very long, thin and nimble hands and fingers to do it.
Hi. Just wonder where you threaded the sensor cables through into the boot. Where they threaded through the flappy vent thing ? It doesn't look like you used the existing grommet. Cheers!
Hi Nick. I did use the existing grommet. I used a small drill bit to poke a hole through it, passed the cables through for the sensors and then smeared the whole area front and back with clear silicone to prevent any water ingress.
The rear bulkhead vents have actually been removed and welded up in my rear leaks video, which can be seen here.

@@DABDIY Great. Thanks!
Muy bien 👍 👏 😌
I have a 62 plate 107, like your video on how to fit reverse sensors, do I have a straight forward fit or do I have one of these cambus things that I have to get round.
These vehicles don't have canbus systems. The only time I'd recommend using a canbus compatible item is for LED indicators.
Does the Aygo/107/C1 only have 1 reversing light on the left side?
From the factory, yes. I’ve added an extra one on the other side, but didn’t record that.
nice videos!
I am really curious on what cree lights you can fit onto that bumper? have you found anything relevant?
I’ve not fitted anything yet. Speak to Tim at Stupid Bloke Stupid Videos, he’s fitted bumper lights.
Hi there,
Slightly off topic but not really question... Any idea what colour the reverse wire is on the driver side please? Is it also red? Or am I best off just using a multimeter to check? 🙂
You’re best to use a meter to check, but IIRC, it is also red.
What size rear wiper blade do you have on? Any issues with it missing parts of the glass?
The rear wiper I’ve got on is shredded currently, it’s in desperate need of replacing. I haven’t actually bought a new one yet, but as soon as I do, I’ll let you know 👍🏻
Hi m8 . I bought some parking sensors and they arrived but they are front and back .
Now I'm not to good with electrics but I'll have a go
In your vid you put the red wire which is the reverse light now this instruction sheet says
No 4 red (acc)
No 3 reversing light it's yellow wire
No2 brake light it's a blue wire
No1 black (grd)
Now the small wire plug that fits in to the black box thing
That's the order of the wires
4 red
3 yellow
2 blue
1 black
No1 I fit to the car (grd)
No 2 I fit to the brake light (blue wire)
No 3 yellow wire where does that one go
No 4 red wire says to(acc) (reverse light ) which is the one you used red wire I can't have red and yellow together???
Help would be great .
It seems like yours is a different kit to mine. Basically, all I did was use a negative down to the body of her car and the positive directly to the reverse bulb power supply, using the act of putting the car into reverse as a switch. If you’re not good with electrics, I’d suggest a good read of the instructions and some experimenting with a battery before cutting into the wiring look or consulting a professional.
Hi m8 . Connected the red wire to the red .an black to the body and the blue to the blue .
( not drilled the holes just got them taped to the car till I get it to work ) so no life in back 4 in reverse. But had life in the front 4 from brake pedal . So I touched the yellow wire to the red wire and all worked .so I know they work just need to find out how lol .
What's the yellow wire run ???
What I think I'll do I'll run all the cables drill all the holes fit everthing and then take it to an electrician so all need to do is conect the wire save bit cash unless anyone else can help
Yes the Mrs bought the same as you but front and back type .
@vlratcliffe1 Makes sense. Do what you can and then let a professional finish the job.
Also how do you get the black insert of the back bumper off?
Remove the rear bumper and at the back f the black insert, you'll find some black tabs. These are how the insert is held on, they should squeeze and push off, unclipping the insert.
how (where) did you run the wires from inside the vehicle to outside (behind the bumper) ?
There are some natural gaps in the folded parts of the rear bulkhead. I slipped the wires through those, but you could also drill a hole and fit a grommet into it to run the wires through.
Hi what's the pliers called that you used to pull the top trim apart? Thanks in advance
They’re called trim removal pliers, or a trim removal tool.
@@DABDIY thanks for reply 👍🏼
My pleasure. I hope this helps 🤙🏻
Hi. Great video. Is it necessary to remove the bumper or can you drill and thread the cables through without taking bumper off? Many thanks
If you can thread the cables through, go for it! I already had the bumper off though, so that made life easier for me.
So is this the reverse light wire? because mine is on the right side. just can not figure out which wire it is to install my rear view camera
Yes, this is the reverse light wire. If yours is on the other side, you can sue the same method to determine which one is your reverse light.
Saw a post saying it's the red one.
IIRC, that’s the same one I used in this video to install the reversing sensors.
@@DABDIY Haha fair enough. I've been researching for a fat minute. i can't remember how to read wiring diagrams, so it took what, 3 months to find one post that told me.
Will this work if I follow the video and tap into the same cable on my Peugeot 107 MK-II ?
It should do, it’s a generic kit. As long as you tap into the reverse light wire, it should be fine.
The mk2 has a reverse cam tho??
Some of them do, yes.
Slightly off the subject, ideally how many miles would £20 of petrol give around town in these cars?
At a guess, I’d say that’s about half a tank. Maybe 200 ish miles, if driven nicely? Best place to look for that kind of information is the City Bug Club on Facebook and tell them I sent you, I’m in the group myself 😁
@@DABDIY many thanks for reply 👍🏼
Hello mate good vidya thanks, sadly the eBay linky doesn't work
That doesn’t surprise me after putting links in a few videos. These are a very readily available kit from eBay/amazon etc.
Wana help me mod my 107 cuz iv got no clue what im doing 😂😂
I don’t have much of an idea myself, I’m just winging it as I go along 😅
