Another great Ted-Talk on old BM-Double U's. Thanks for this one, showing us how to take off and install the rear drive shaft, and especially help with Vanos errors. I was about to install new Vanos solenoids but remembered (eventually) to check the oil cap, sure enough - no cage. Popped in an oil cap I had lying around, the Vanos errors disappeared like Thanos. 😂

Nice video, I have two comments. The first one is that line you forgot where it runs to on the M50, it runs to the Tube that the connects the ICV to the underside of the intake, it's shaped kinda like a question mark. Also, I would additionally check the small vacuum line going from the fuel pressure regulator to the back underside of the intake. That line seems to get very brittle (i've had two on two separate engines I had to replace) Great tips!

OH.. if anyone has an E83 that the radio stays on after you've turned the car off, removed the key, locked the door, etc... check the #7 fuse in the glove box. The original owner of my 2008 x3 3.0si took it out for some reason, it was lying in the glove box.

Hey all, I have an issue with a bmw z3 M54 2.2i. It keeps coming up with bank lean codes and misfires. Both banks and single banks, random misfires, but diagnostic says cylinder 5 is troublesome. No obvious vac leaks anywhere... fault has been getting more frequent, although the car hasn’t run much in the last six months... any thoughts??? Thanks.

I would like to add that a bad maf sensor likes to give you lean codes and also on the m54 there are (sometimes) two small test ports nipples on the rear runner of the intake manifold that come with rubber caps. these caps can fall off/crack.....Damn Nathan don't you ever take a day off??? way cool video I have never messed with a m52 and the tour you gave is helpful...thanks. and have a happy new year!

Lol well I'm sure others have better quality videos up, but mine are crude and to the point, I need to get more into the e65 e90 e60 cars but I don't see a huge amount of them cheap enough yet for a lot of the DIY guys to own and tinker with, it seems like right now the e39 and e46 cars are favorites for guys to have as a side project.

e85s are getting cheap....some diesel stuff would be cool too, that m57 of mine looks like someone thru spaghetti in the engine bay..there are more hoses and wires than an airplane..

Yea i did see some e85's going for cheap on craigslist, im guessing that is for the convertible only ? im sure the coupe still bring good money? I have never heard of the M57 in the U.S,, but im sure there are some possibly.

Does this apply to the 2008 335i e90 with the N54 Twin Turbo engine as well ? I keep getting the p0171 and p0174 codes on mine. Any ideas on common culprits for this model?

(HK) John C. Shouldn't happen on new cars like that unless you messing with it

Thanks so much for all your videos. Your channel is awesome. I just bought a one owner 1998 328i sedan. Lean codes and misfires on all cylinders. I already replaced spark plugs and all ignition coils. Throttle body boot is ruptured. Idles rough. All else seems ok. Any ideas so I can pass inspection? I know you're busy just hoping for some help. Thanks for reading my comment ( 4 door auto, 139k miles.) Can't get rid of MIL and p0170 code is only one left. Please help

Not really diagnosing air leaks or even if ther is an air leak...just pointing our some places there may be a leak. Should have shown where to connect a vacuum guage to actually check. And how to spray chemical to ascertain same.
