Hello
Without any further waffle
Really cool mood!, i think this is the console i need to play all the GB/GC/GBA games!!! one console for everything
Well there's not a Dremel in there
Would it have been possible to remove the Nintendo headphone jack on this and put this in the same place?
Wow... What a legend. Finally fixing a mistake that shouldn’t have happened.
He posted it WITH OUT A CARTRAGE IN IT
This guy is always modding Gameboys
He's so cool
Ded Ender 072 yeah your right, I’m subscribed to him
@Zero Bullet's don’t need a headphone jack if you buy all their $500 products 🤣🤣
@@dedender0726 Elliot rocks.
Next episode: installing Bluetooth into a gameboy advance sp
Already are mods for that
Eduardo Anonimo and so were there mods for a headphone jack, doesn’t make it less entertaining
Eduardo Anonimo Nobody said it didn't exist.
@@whoawatchoutorillflipyouof9815 I'm not trying to say that is not entertaining, I'm trying to say that is not something new, Twisty T don't need to wait until the next episode.
Eduardo Anonimo you completely ignored the fact that this video was not an original idea. People want to see ELLIOT make a Bluetooth GBASP rather than other people. People watch for him. Jesus.
Apple: Why do I hear boss music?
I don't know why this doesn't have that many likes
Just when I thought I was done modding my sp I get a notification 😂😂
What mods does it have?

Apple users: **Sad Apple noises**

Nuff' said. 😎
@TurboSushi it was a joke...
@TurboSushi Oh sure, I'll pay the extra $30 even though I have wired headphones already.
Wow, that looks fantastic! Great job. Thanks for the shout out too! I think yours ended up looking much cleaner than mine too. For what it's worth though, I don't think a dremel would have given you a cleaner result but it would likely have made it a bit easier. One thing that's worth noting is that even though the mod uses a four pin headphone jack, the console will not work with four pin headphones. At least, mine doesn't unless they are half inserted and then you only get mono sound out of one side.
Ooh very interesting. I didn’t try that!
Wow sir makho was mentioned by RetroFuture. Two RUclipsrs I watch about Modding Consoles.
Hey makho, this is putting me off trying this mod. Any ideas as to how this can be solved to work with all headphones? Most have a mic on the cable now and 4 pins. Don’t want to have to carry special headphones for my sp
@@TimdeVille You'd need a physical switch to detect headphones. That's all the fourth pin does in this implementation. By inserting a three pin TRS plug in the four pin TRRS jack, we are triggering the speaker cutoff by shorting the fourth pin (the ground) to the third pin (also the ground in TRS but the microphone in TRRS). Alternatively, you can use a TRRS splitter and just leave the microphone plug dangling but I understand not wanting to use a dongle.
If you cannot find a suitable contact switch (and I couldn't but I didn't look *that* hard) that depresses automatically when headphones are inserted, a simple SPST switch that you toggle manually would work too.
makho cool. Thanks for the reply. I’m new to all this do I’ll have to do some searching. I don’t even know what a SPST switch is so I’ll look it up but would be amazing to use any headphones. Are you ok just using 3 pin headphones then?
"Definitely NOT done on Microsoft paint..."
you should do this with an iphone

So... if there was space in the case for a headphone jack, couldn't have nintendo just put one from the beginning.. sincer they were able to put one in the micro which is even smaller.
The Micro doesn't have a link port or the little switch in the cartridge slot that tells the GBA when a GB or GBC game is inserted so even if it has a headphone jack it still sacrificed other stuff. Nintendo could have made extra space in the SP for a headphone jack but they just didn't care enough to do it. And it was extra money for them from people who bough the dongle that cost pennies to make.
@@chamoo232 not to be pedantic but the micro’s charge port also works as the link port
Apple and Samsung also had the same excuse.
2 years late, and my guess is simply because they knew all the weird lil companies that existed at the time would create headphones that use one of the two ports at the top
Imagine going back in time to the 80s or 90s with the mods we have now

That's actually better than some of the other headphone jack mods I've seen, well done and who needs a Dremel anyway?
No. Get a -Dremel- rotary tool. -Dremels- rotary tools are awesome.
Never had the SP, I have been modding my OG advance. If I ever get one this is a super simple mod, and I am glad you showed this. Cheap and easy, just awesome!
I think you did a spot on job there! Looks perfect. When I do mods like that things usually catch fire or explode.
Th3OmegaPoint probably wiring / soldering errors. Keep trying though and be safe bro!
when I first got my game boy witch was a month ago I fell in love with it I couldn't get enough of it then I found your channel and then I fell in love with your channel. and good job installing the head phone jack
I have a headphone jack adaptor for the SP and brought the AGS101 back in 2005.
It's good to see the modding scene adding these features now. I often capture audio from my GBA to an audio recorder.
Watching you do all this mods and repairs really makes me want to try my hand at modding a gameboy for myself, the GBA is my favourite handheld console of all time, so why not make it even better right? Thank you very much Elliot, keep up the great work!

"Who wants a dongle?"
Said the iPhone owner, the company that started the no headphone jack trend
Actually the first android ever didn't have one
Yep, I hate that when I want to charge my iPhone I need to take out the “headphone jack”(the charging port)
Z3DT as an joke I get it, but it has been 3 years now and every mayor brand (of who some of them made fun of apple) lacks a headphone jack. How Ironic.

Niiice! I just received an SP today and was going to do just the IPS mod. Luckily I had the right type of headphone jacks laying around and Elliot here making this great video. Personally I like the way you drilled the hole since I personally dont have a drill so it gave me an idea on how to do this. Thanks!!
Can I just say that this is one of the best tutorial videos I've seen! Great job man I wish I could hit like twice!

Dude this is amazing!! I love your videos and can never stop watching them. Great content
Hey i came from jacks video about the diamond play button and now i found i really like your content so heres a sub!
I'm curious how well the case sticks together with one screw missing. Great video, simple yet effective mod.
I didn’t see any footage of it but he said that he super glued it
I swear apple and nintendo do the exact same things I mean no headphone jack, dongle, headphones that plug into the charging port smh
Do nintendo solder everything in, fix everything badly with used parts, wipe drives and overcharge for everything? Also Samsung are removing headphone jacks now...
just watched the ad from start to end after watching your video, your channel deserve that kind of treatment for us.
yo elliott, thank you for making so many videos about GBA builds. i've been watching your vids for the last month and a half on repeat to get this process down in my head. just last week, after a lot of tinkering i was able to replace the shell, screen and buttons out of my old AGS-001 and i swear to god it feels like i've like resurrected something from the grave. i definitely couldn't have experienced this without your help.

Omg thank you soooo much for explaining the motherboard difference for C25. I’d watched a few other videos but my board was different and I couldn’t find C25. So I was trying to figure it out. And sure enough you explained exactly where to find it depending on board differences and that saved me because I’ve been searching for ages lol
Awesome video man!
Hey don't skip or trim the details of the installation. We're all interested to see the EVERYTHING!!

Thanks for shouting out my boy Mahko, he makes really awesome videos.
Quality content yet again. My OCD has got the better of me again though and the only thing I would do would be to get a spare one of those rubber screw covers from around the screen and put it in the hole where you cut the screw post from. Hello,
Thank you so much for making this video! This looks like a super fun and easy project for someone who hasn't soddered before, I am going to get the materials and try doing this to one of my GBA SPs! I also would love to have a headphone jack on mine!
Again, thank you!!
I need Bluetooth🥺is tht possible
People did that with other gamboys already. You need a 5v power supply in your gameboy tho. This is usually archieved by first modding it with a LiPo Battery. Honestly I dont think that it is possible in an Advance SP, you just dont have enough space inside for the bluetooth board.
I did it with a DMG a while ago but there's a lot more room in those!
😃 i need bluetooth too
hi im from jack

im just getting into modding my olds sp's, so im a little nervous to solder, but you made it look so easy haha
I like the new camera, or lens, or whatever you are using. I think it really makes your videos pop
Thank you!
Elliot (I hope I spell ur name right lol), thanks so much for your videos. They're really something to keep me entertained during the lockdown. Moreover, you have made me buy a Game Boy Advance :D Shoutout from Russia
You are a god. I bought the cable that was released to let you use both earphones and the adapter at the same time because I always prefer to use earphones and it was trash. Always kept cutting out. If only my GBA SP still worked but that thing's a paper weight now. I always feel like I should get into this type of stuff but never know where to start. I'd really like to try and make my own mp3 player since I need a new one and can't seem to find a decent one that has much storage space.
Nicely done
Makho is the best! It's so awesome that you know who he is.
