I don't think anyone notices that the trail of blood leading up to John is his dogs blood, meaning his dog was still a little bit alive and moved itself to John and died next to him. Like....crush my heart!

Dogs can do this kind of thing. I had an old pittie that waited till I got home to take her last breathe, while I held her. Broke my heart how much she loved me!
Alternatively, they just nonchalantly, disrespectfully kicked or dragged the dead dog across the floor to lay it in front of him so it was the first thing he saw when he woke, which would be a whole extra level of psychopathic, cruel, vindictive evil

My favorite scene is Viggo giving his son vodka, just to punch him in the gut so it burns both ways, that's a lesson.
There’s another bit of that scene: Viggo doesn’t drink his vodka. He doesn’t even touch it after he punches his kid, he pours himself a new drink. It’s akin to saying that I don’t agree or support what you did.
I love how John breaks the foundation of his new life, the basement floor, to re-enter his old life, the weapons and coins.

And the whole beginning of the movie in his house is all monchromatic grey. Mirroring both his mood at the time and the "grey area" in which his life as an assassin operated.
Also as Viggo is telling his son how John built THEIR foundation with his old life, you see John breaking his OWN foundation of his old life as well to bring down Viggo's foundation,same one he help build!! Genuis
The movie is a master class in film making. Also notice the blood over his heart after his puppy is killed. It like they figuratively stabbed him in the heart.

If you're a film buff, you know EXACTLY what kind of an actual badass Nash is. On the set of Punisher, he got stabbed in the chest with a four inch blade. Not only did he not break character, he didn't even flinch. The reason he got the role of the guard that walked away was to illustrate to people in the know how deadly John Wick is supposed to be.
The reason he let that guard go is because he told him in Russian how many guards there was inside...by communicating in code
The thing is...while plenty of this movie is "movie magic", most of the skills Keanu displays in it are legit. There are video clips of some of his training for the franchise, and...he's basically a professional killer now. He's way too nice to actually be that kind of person, but he's got the skills. He's not actually John Wick (partly because that's fiction, and partly because Keanu himself hasn't spent decades in training and actual combat), and probably not on the level of fully-dedicated spec-ops personnel, but he's more than dangerous enough that even the best would have concerns going after him. Getting into a firefight, or hand-to-hand, with Keanu is a really high risk for an opponent, and probably not worth it if it can be avoided. Nobody's coming away from it unscathed. The best are the best because they know when NOT to fight, not simply because they're good at it. They know how to assess threats...and at this point, Keanu is plenty dangerous enough to be best avoided, unless there's absolutely no choice.
Even more impressive is that Keanu is left-handed. You can notice it when he signs for the puppy.
When the zombie apocalypse comes, let’s take sanctuary with Keanu. 😆
@@stephonix616 Nah...if a zombie apocalypse happened for real, they'd be little to no actual threat. The only way to actually get a zombie is from some mutant form of parasitic fungus, like cordyceps. But that would make them very slow and clumsy. The main threat is if the spores became airborne instead of transmitted by being bitten or whatever.

And the only way around that would be full face protection (no gaps or exposed mucal membranes at all), and constant washing of ourselves.

If some weird and impossible events happened that made movie zombies happen, then it really depends on which type. If it were the conventional ones, just stay in rural parts of the world and stay mobile.

That said...would definitely be good to have Keanu along for that anyway.

Ngl, even if you're right, that was a bit cringe.
The scene where Daisy was killed was very distressing for Alfie to do, and he spent a lot of his off-time cuddling the puppy that played Daisy, bonding with her. Says a lot about him as a person as well as an actor. 😀 I was dead-set ugly crying at that scene the my first time I saw this film, and even in reaction vids I skip over that part every time. 😭😭🐶
Kinda weird how some actors who excel at playing the absolute scumbags on film are genuinely nice people in real life. Alfie sounds like a good guy, but he just pulls off the sniveling, weasely, dickless jerk off character of that schmuck. Damn he’s good.

I just thought about this and I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet, but there is more poetry in this movie than we even thought. Everything Viggo had, his whole empire, was given to him by John Wick thanks to the impossible task. John Wick gave Viggo an empire and he also took it all away from him.

This movie has lots of info hidden in coded dialog,
here's the facts
When Marcus (William Dafoe) asks if the contract is being offered to him "solo", Viggo says no - from that point Marcus knows he'll have to act as John's "Guardian Angel".
When John spares Francis' (Kevin Nash) life - he asks for a favor in return in the form of the question "Have you lost weight?" to which the Russian Bodyguard replies, "Yeah, about 60lbs" which is 27 Kilos & = to the number of men inside on guarding, Iosef (Alfie Allen).
Keanu is one of the most well liked & respected actors in Hollywood; He's well known for going out of his way to help friends - like having the writers add the dialog to the small scene with the Hotel Continental's Doctor (Randall Duk Kim) [and YES, RDK with was the Keymaster in the Matrix].
Keanu did most of his own stunts.
The shooting schedule of the nightclub scene was very tight, but even though Keanu was ill with a 103 temp, he worked though it.
The Gracie School of Jujitsu worked with Keanu in preparation for the hand to hand & grapples scenes
and former World Champion marksman Taran Butler of Taran Tactical trained him for the kickass shooting scenes.
VERY few movies include moments of combat realism like the reload scene in the nightclub.

John answers "I'm afraid so Francis. Why don't you take the night off." Francis removes his earpiece, turns & says "Thank you sir."

@@SaleBSGN - Nah, it's correct. While the onscreen subtitles say "Over Sixty Pounds", we can clearly hear Francis say Kilograms.
Converting 60 pounds to Kilograms, that's 27.21 kg. So, there were over 27 hostiles in the building, which John killed 28 (with Viggo's Lt Kirill the only survivor).
Francis most likely said over 27 kg, not 20.
While it was incorrect for them to say pounds (since he said kg), since the movie is in the US and we used pounds and not kg, it's obvious to use what the audience is familiar with in the subtitle text. They aren't wrong in the information because you can convert 1 to another, it just will take another step to get to the hidden code, which in many ways actually HELPS the film more with these subtle coded speaking.
Man Keanu owned this role. The whole cast is good, Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane (from Deadwood). Great reaction.

One great thing is that when someone insults you in another language before they even consider if you know what they're saying. The look on his face when John replied in russian...perfect :)
It's nice to see a movie where the guy makes sure they're dead, in so many movies they shoot someone in the leg and then move on, and then that person comes back to attack again. Not John Wick, he will shoot you in the leg and once you go down it's a headshot to make sure you don't come back.
I imagine Wick going in a special supplies shop "I need 4 double B pencils for architectural design" and holsters them next to the gun.
In the future you should probably not read the movie description as most give away key points you need to discover for yourself while watching the movie. Just a thought. Most will give away the surprises.

@@grantallen6573- Not 28 stone. A stone is 14 pounds. A kilogram is only 2.2 pounds.
Yeah the stabbing part confuses people. He uses the knife to establish a lever to snap the arm.
Also to get it out of his opponents hand by breaking the arm and then use it on him. Its not that much of a bad idea actually, he had control over where the knife would hit him as he held the arm holding the knife with both hands, so he could make sure it hits where it makes as little damage as possible.
How do you kill 3 people with a pencil ... watch the sequel to find out.
As soon as Marcus heard the contract was open, he went to work, guardian Angel with a sniper rifle watching over him. He wanted John to go back to his life away from all this. A true friend.
And no amount of money is worth fucking with the Continental over.

My favorite line in the whole movie is the answer, "He was the one you sent to kill the f*ing Boogeyman."

What I like the most about the film, is the color sequences….blue/green : means johns in control and things are going as planned
Red: means johns in trouble… then theres yellow & another color that means : it’s kinda a toss up between john & whomever he’s fighting
Few notice the dog he rescued at the end was scheduled to be euthanized, so it wasn't someone's pet he was taking, he was saving a dog.
The kill count for all 3 movies is 286 people

John Wick is right up there with The Matrix as far as action movies go. Now that you've checked it out, you should catch the Pitch Meeting for John Wick, too.
Oh man, it’s even better if you go into these movies without reading the description first
Someone on another reaction video noted that Viggo served his son, Iosef, the bottom shelf crap vodka in a cheap glass and even though he poured himself one, he never drank it WITH his son. Viggo just puts it back on the bar. Viggo punches his son, goes behind the bar, and then pours himself top end vodka in a top end glass and drinks it by himself. That's how low he thought of his son at that point.
Point of contention: there are dudes out there who will say, "It's just a dog. You can always get another dog." Right, and you can always replace the spark plugs on a classic Mustang. When Viggo assaulted his son in the bar scene, he said that John wanted to leave, "....because of a woman, of course." He later says, "So I gave him an impossible task...the bodies he buried that day laid the foundation of what we are." At that point, it should have laid to rest once and for all that it was the puppy's death that drove him on this path to vengeance. Yes, he got a pit bull at the end and saved him from euthanasia, but that was his dog and not the one his wife left for him to remember her and to help him cope with losing her.

It certainly brings a lot of new subscribers…and it’s some of the most epic battle scenes ever put to film!

@@MajorReacts oh wow that’s great man! It’s the most epic story and film adaptation I’ve ever experienced! Written a long time ago (some beginnings of it written in the trenches of WW1) and the author, Tolkien is considered the father of modern fantasy….but honestly it transcends the genre. Most awarded film series in history! Cool..looking forward to it and good luck with the new channel!

Did you notice that the dude who killed John’s dog is Theon Greyjoy from GoT?
Yeah he lets him stab him for a couple reasons. Mainly so he can get him close enough to break his arm. AND also, now he has the knife. He let him stab his stomach like that because he knew no vital organs would be damaged, just need to be stitched up. So he gets to break his arm AND gets the knife in one motion.
He is just such a beast to do something like that

The scene where Kevin Nash is the bodyguard is a TEST that John gives him. He says "you've lost weight", and Nash replies "Over 60kg" (the subtitles are incorrect but its fine). 60kg is 132 lbs. Not only is that a LOT of weight to lose, but such an odd number. Nash was telling him what he really wanted to know, which is around how many people were inside guarding the boy. 60ish people, thats why John lets him go without killing him.

I highly recommend the movie, Nobody.
Smartest man in the movie...Jimmy the cop. John just merced 12 guys in 3 min. I think I am going to let him do his thing...
Therein lies the biggest flaw with this first movie in particular.
The son, in his mid to late twenties, living and breathing the criminal, mafia life his whole existence; the offspring of the cities biggest crime lord for whom John Wick worked for who knows how long, had never heard Johns name, or whispered stories of his exploits before when every other person in the universe knows of him?
That's the most unbelievable part of the whole thing. That being said, these movies are still some of the best action movies ever!

I personally think you confused fear with respect they respect him but the cop or aurelio(he's kind of his friend but in addition to being friends) and others don't respect him. They are TERRIFIED of him. They respect him because every single person (except the kid) fears him. Not the other way around. Keanu in that fitted black suit be looking NICE though. The 2nd and 3rd john wick fight scenes are even better, if it's possible to believe.
If you like John Wick, I'd also recommend the Kill Bill films by Tarantino, really great fights scenes in an assassin world also.
I saw someone in the comments recommend Lord of the Rings to you, that is definitely a must-see! Glad you'll be watching them.
Harry Potter also pulls in a lot of views and subscribers. Though the HP books are like 100x better than the films and the films aren't really good adaptions, they are definitely still worth a watch if you haven't done so yet. The first 2 films are kind of childish, but they get more and more mature from the 3rd one on. Harry Potter is mystery-fantasy, so don't expect it to be like Lord of the Rings, which is more action/battle heavy.

After you finish the John Wick films, I would do LOTR, then Kill Bill, then Harry Potter. You know, keep switching up the genres so there's variety, attracts more types of viewers I think. But it's entirely up to you of course! You can do whatever order you're in the mood for.
But at least definitely do Lord of the Rings before doing Harry Potter, LOTR is considered the granddaddy of the fantasy genre. Even though HP is a different type of fantasy and is a completely different story, it still has some elements influenced by LOTR.
The LOTR films are really long, especially if you watch the extended editions, so I would also suggest splitting a film into like a 3 part reaction. That way you can get more of your reaction in. That's what most reactors do for lord of the rings films anyway.

This one's my favorite in the series. The first half hour of 3 is amazing and Halle Berry's arc is phenomenal, but this story is perfect IMO. Tight action, great characters, Keanu was a beast, loved it! Part 2 annoyed me, but I get that it sets up 3.

im glad you noticed that with the police. when me and sister watched it and was like why didn't Jimmy do anything. like what is a street cop going to do that 2 special ops groups couldn't get done lol. he wouldn't even got to his radio before wick would of killed him.
Beyond that, I always figured the cops just stay out of the way of people like John. He's not killing random people, people like him only get hired to kill mobsters. As long as he's not causing trouble outside of the criminal world, no reason to rock the boat

Just watched the Deadpool reaction and wondered why I've never seen this channel in my Recommendations before...turns out this channel is a week old. John Wick and Deadpool in the first week, yeah I can get behind this and Subscribe.
On the Deadpool video I commented that Gina Carano has a short but brutal fight scene in a movie called Blood & Bone starring Michael Jai White, if you like action movies like John Wick and Deadpool you'll like MJW. He was Spawn in 1997, I think he'd make a great Blue Marvel in the MCU, he's basically Marvel's Superman.
Long story short the Marvel 616 (comics) history had black superheroes in the 1960s who were forced into retirement because they were black, this subject is also mentioned in the tv show The Falcon & The Winter Soldier with a former black Captain America/Isiah Bradley who spent decades in prison to keep him quiet, anywho, Blue Marvel came out of retirement and joined the Avengers, MJW would be perfect in that role if the character's ever introduced in the MCU.

You shouldn't read the info about the movie. It spoils part of the lore. It lets you know who he is in this case instead of discovering it.
