The conversation between John and the security guy Francis at the Red Circle was all in code. John asked him if he "lost weight" and the number of kgs he "lost" was the amount of henchmen inside the club. THAT and the supposedly there is a back story between these two (Francis was John's driver when he was still a hitman), is why John let him live.

One of the interesting points about this film is he constantly changes magazines, showing the accurate limit of ammo in a gun. Also, John NEVER strikes an innocent civilian, making him deadly accurate.
EDIT: when John was shooting at Iosef and seemingly missing, he meant to not hit Iosef in that moment. Like a predator playing with its prey, he wanted Iosef scared and fleeing. When Perkins was fighting John and called him a p****, it was because he is a gentleman and didn't want to hit a woman in the face. He fixed that by wrapping her head in a sheet first. It may seem like a meaningless gesture, but it was how he could justify, at least to himself, striking her in the face in order to knock her out.

    Fun Fact:
When John goes to the Club to kill the kid and starts with the bodyguard outside, He says, "You've lost weight" and Francis Replied "Over 60 pounds". This was actually a test AND a code between the two. John was testing him to see if he would help him (which is why he lets him go and tells him to take the night off) and Francis replies Over 60 pounds (or 27 kilograms), a code for nearly 27 security guys/henchman protecting the boy. VERY cool way to again show us how much of a badass and how respected John Wick is. Thats basically FBI communication skills why would John ask him how many pound he lost its absolute nonsense. He's using a glock which holds 17 rounds he's reloading after every 17 shots when he did a tactical reload he puts the mag back in his pocket instead of throwing it away. Also the same things when Marcus shot at the pillow. Marcus is an excellent marksman and would never miss a shot. You can see the wind blowing through his hair right before he shot so he knew when he was aiming for John he would hit the pillow. Marcus didn't accept the contract until he found out it was open, which meant other assassins would be trying to kill him.

Well the house has always been an analogy of the mind. The attic, represents the super-ego - our ideals, a state of being the perfect version of one's self; the living space is the ego - the life we consciously make for ourselves; and the basement is the id - the things we try to hide or bury. So not only is the basement symbolic, so is the lack of the attic. John knows he's a failure of a human being, and the best thing he can achieve is to live an honest, grounded life, without any hope of reaching any ideals he might envision for himself. He's given up on his super-ego, but when the thugs invade his ego too, all he has left is his id - the thing he tried to bury.

One thing that even the comments on these videos don't mention, is how John has that incredible car, and clearly takes exceptional care of it, and yet has no qualms at all about the puppy running all over the interior.
I really enjoy that. It shows that the car matters to him and he takes care of things that matter to him, but also that he values a living thing over an object, in spite of what he himself is. It demonstrates that he knows a few marks on the upholstery or something like that can be fixed, but that the puppy is irreplaceable.
It's one of the things that humanizes John for us, so that we take it even more personally when things go bad and we cheer when he starts murdering dudes. But almost nobody notices it. By then, they've introduced him so well that we're really kind of already on board, and we don't think twice about the fact that he'd just let a puppy run around inside his amazing car. We already kind of expect John to be that sort of guy. But I still think it's important that they showed it, and that it really solidifies that we're all completely on John's side.

Watched a lot of reactions on John Wick and you do a fine job in noticing the arc of the story or John's character as time progresses and little bread crumbs are dropped along the way.
I also liked how you dissect, analyze and diagnose after the movie ended with crucial moments and detail.

About John letting Vigo stab him, I always felt it was about John having a crisis of "Why am I even here anymore? What would happen if I just.. let it happen?" Coming through it when he laid there watching his wife, he had that moment where he turned his perspective around.

Fun fact. Charlie, the head of the cleaning crew was Sully from the movie " Commando", which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was the guy that Arnold's character "Matrix" held over a cliff with one arm. "Remember Sully when I said I would kill u last? I lied!" Then Matrix dropped him.

I don't know why it only consciously occurred to me while watching your reaction, considering I've seen the movie itself at least a dozen times, but the only reason Marcus accepted the contract on John was to protect him due to it being an open contract, I'd imagine that if it was an exclusive contract he'd have said no and either still protected him or warned him.
I love that, for all three John Wick movies so far, the crew AND Keanu put so much effort into keeping the gun play as realistic as possible, like not having 'endless clips' and such, and Keanu doing so much actual gun training to prepare.
