Ok. That's a good point. Thank you for the response. It makes sense now that you've explained it. I didn't ask about the double crochet because you specially mentioned that you would not talk about the magic circle. So was wondering the reason behind it. now that I know, I understand.
Hello! First of all, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post this, I'm used to working with granny square diagrams, do you know if there's a diagram for this square somewhere (or if you happened to have made one)?
excellent teaching! can you please tell me how big this becomes? BTW thank you for showing me the easy way for a MC just by watching I did it in 2 minutes been trying to learn for 6 months LOL!
+Southernmaidbrat Thank you. :) I am glad to have helped you. :) This square that I made in the video didn't get much bigger than how I made it in the video. I was only using it as an example square, but you can make it as big as you like.
Well, all the basics of the square are in what I show, but I suppose I can make another video showing another round... the the main thing to remember is to make sure you do 5 dc in the 3rd dc of the previous row's 5 dc.
Hi, I hope you don't mind but based on this video I did a written version of this and uploaded it to ravelry (of course I can take it down as soon as you don't think it cool) www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/solid-granny-square-with-no-holes
And thank you for taking the time to make a written version. I'm not so good with the graphs. If I can see it being made or if I can see the stitches as they are, then I can figure it out better.
if the magic circle is part of the procedure, why not explain it along with the rest of your pattern for those of us who are clueless about the magic circle? If this is educational to help us learn your technique why skip the most important step. ...the very beginning... the very first step?

Because I only made it specifically for someone in particular who didn't believe me about how I made the square. She didn't believe that 5 dc in one could be a good idea for a corner.
The whole point of this video was about how I did the corners... not about how the magic circle is done. There are plenty of other videos specifically for that... You might as well have asked me why I didn't show how to do the double crochet as well.
This is the Most CREATIVE
Granny Square We Have EVER SEEN👍
The BEST Solid Square EVER 👏
Thank You So Much!
I can now do a solid granny square with not even thinking about it. Thank you so much Carol, you're a great teacher!

Thank you i wanted to make something warm and not have the holes so thank you so very much!
Love your nails. Great video, too!
I really like this, I'll try it
To avoid the join line going up simply move (slip stitch) over to the middle of the corner and go up from there.

Thank you, I never liked the holes either.
Please complete one more round!

I don't mind, but do you mind adding my ravelry along with the link?

of course!
No biggie, I just thought someone else could benefit from it :D
alright, apparently only the designer can upload a pattern to ravelry :( too bad
They go too fast
I beg to differ.
You need to slow down
Never

So go watch another video that teaches you the magic circle. Takes as long as it did for you to complain!!
