    Today, I will show you how to do a Puff Stitch Granny Square. It's very easy to do and a great beginner square. It's good for a beginner because you are doing the Puff Stitches into the chain 1 spaces and not into an actual stitch. You don't have to worry about where to put them. If you've done a traditional Granny Square then you can do this one. Because instead of doing groups of 3dc's you are doing 1 puff stitch.
    The first 2 rows are in the shape of a circle and Row 3 is when you start to square it off. Then repeat Row 4 for as long as you need your item to be.
    Thanks for watching, let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi, if you want to carry on in a circle (for a round cushion) do you just carry on doing a double puff stitch into the spaces until you reach the size you want? Really good tutorial by the way, the black background really helps I think!

      Sue De Sa HI, You can repeat row 5 for as long as you need to. Ignore the "repeat 5x" You just repeat the instructions between the astericks as many times as it takes to get to the next corner.
      THESE ARE THE ROW 5 INSTRUCTIONS
      Row 5: ch1, do 1 Puff in same space, ch1, 1 Puff in next ch1-space, ch1. *Do 1 Corner in next ch3-space, ch1. Do (1 Puff in next ch1-space, ch1)x5* Repeat 3 times total then do 1 Co rner in next ch3-space, ch1, do (1 Puff, ch1) in each ch1- space and join in the top of the beginning Puff st.
      Thanks!
      Heather

    Hi, i'v made around 80 of these squares in different colours for a large throw, (still need a lot more!) What would you recommend the best method to join them together? Fab video too :)

      Hi Loren,s orry it took so long to get back to you. I do a single crochet sewing technique. ESPECIALLY when you are doing a blanket. I need to get that tutorial on soon!!

      Heather Gibbs 2 questions...have you done a video to reference the above question about stitching the squares together? I'm in desperate need for it. LOL and 2....Is there a way to do this puff pattern with 6 sides (vs the 4 sides you show here)? (ps.....GREAT video!)

    I'm wondering ,is it possible to just keep doing the first two rounds to make a round Afghan?

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  6 лет назад

      You would have to omit the corners but increase the number of Puff stithes so it gets larger every row.

    can this stitch be good for a big blanket if I where to do it ?

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад +1

      absolutely, I've made several smaller blankets. I like it because of how soft the Puff stitches make it.

    Couldn't do this to save my life....video was easy to follow but I had difficulty pulling my hook back through all the loops....tried and tried and it just wouldn't work.

    • @patti8732
      @patti8732 9 лет назад +2

      Hi Cindy, I had a heck of time when I first learned this stitch. When pulling up loops try bringing them up to about the level of a double crochet when pulling through be sure hook is hook side down. also helps to rub the hook with a fresh dryer sheet. you can practice by only putting 5 loops on the ring until you get the hang of it. Hope this helps you alittle. Have a nice day.

    how is row 4 any different than row 3?

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад

      Not much except that you are repeating the instructions between the asterisks 1 extra time. The continues for each row after.

  • @leekitchens5253
    @leekitchens5253 7 лет назад +1

    I did a practice pieces it puckered in the middle ,then I made another one for a throw it did the same , follow directions , what do you think happened

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад

      The only thing I can think of is if you left out a chain 1 on any of the 4 sides. I'll explain...when you get to row 3, 4 and on you add 1 chain space and Puff stitch on each side of the square. Leaving out a chain space would make the side smaller causing it to bunch up.

    • @leekitchens5253
      @leekitchens5253 7 лет назад

      I'm almost finished , it looks great except for that... maybe if I block it ...would that work....

    I made a throw with that stitch and it also puckered in the middle... Can't find anything wrong

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад

      Maybe you left someithing out. It depends on what row it was done on. Maaybe it was a forgotten slip stitch which can shorten the area making it scrunch up. Not to sure sorry. Thanks for the message!!!
