I'd like to say thank you for your well-explained tutorials. I'm self-taught & have been crocheting from RUclips for many years. However, watching people's different techniques can sometimes become frustrating especially if it's not visually apparent or explained. But with your videos, they're exceptionally detailed without being overly wordy or confusing. As well, if something does become tedious- your camera view clearly shows how/where to place your stitches which is quite helpful (even my boyfriend could learn to crochet from them lol😊). So, thank you & keep up the great work!

I have been making this granny all day yesterday and today because, sad to say, it was necessary for me to stay home these two days! Now I have ten of them!! As I have finished each square I have put it flat on my he bed under the heating pad which I set to low heat. It makes the granny so nice and flat and square!! As I finish each one I replace the one under the pad with the new one !! Works great!! My heating pad has automatic turn off after two hours so I don’t have to even think about it!! Now I am ready for assembly but first I am putting a little border around each one because I like it better with a border setting them apart. Thank you for your help. You are the #1 crocheter teacher. A real master of the craft.!!

Aloha from Hawaii!A thousand millions of thank yous. Granny square success!! I have wanted to learn how to do granny squares for so long but they always never worked out!! After watching your traditional granny square tutorials many times I finally decided that I was ready to try again!!! But was procrastinating for fear of failure!!! I tried your solid square this morning and I did it. It is actually square and looks good!!! Too hot for granny Afghans here-83 degrees today!!-so I am going to make a granny scarf that I learned about from your other video!!! I am going to use earth colors: green, brown, orange, and yellow. Then donate it to Wichita Kansas Hats For Hope. Love your videos. You are so young at heart!! Stay that way!!

Maybe one day you could walk us through following a written crochet pattern. You have shown us how to do the actual stitches, and I’m comfortable with those. But I’d like to be able to follow a pattern all by myself. BTW, I adore your videos, your animations and seeing what your hair looks like from month to month. You probably hear this a lot but whenever I need a lift I open up a Jayda in Stitches video. I hope your life is as pleasant as you portray it to be.

Hi Katie, thank you so much for watching! If you're new to our channel, you might be interested to know that we have done several videos with free written crochet patterns so that folks can do a crochet along as they read through our patterns. We write up our patterns in pretty plain speech (and use helpful stitch legends) so that following along can make as much sense as possible! You can start by checking out our website (link is in the description box) and head to the Pattern Workshop page. Most of the free patterns there have a corresponding video here on RUclips (just search Jayda InStitches and the name of the video you're looking for on RUclips). Thank you for watching :)

I'm using a solid granny on a baby blanket for my grandblessing #6. My oldest kids were not good at social distancing with their partners & we welcomed 2 quarantine babies this year. Hi Jayda, I just want to tell you that I Love your " no-nonsense " way to crochet. The way you tie a knot to add yarn and crochet in the ends. --- And the way you do the so-called " Magic ring ". I went through a bunch of tuts that were so confusing that I gave it up, and then I saw you use it once to start a project and I knew immediately how to. That's just a couple of things you do that are helpful and I appreciate it very much. Thank you,-Sincerely, Lilly Lang.

I have to admit it to someone... I fell off the wagon. My car drove itself to Michael's. But it was on sale, and of course I can always use more yarn..... Now I have a new project to justify my "slip". Thanks for being an inspiration!

      * giggle * With the exception that my husband bought me some yarn for Valentine's day (which I'm not counting since I didn't buy it myself!!!) I'm still doing ok....but the year is young LOL!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I've watched several videos on granny squares and I couldn't follow any of them. Then I found this one and it was super easy to follow. I made my own granny square that looks better than I could've imagined, and I'm gonna make more of them now. You've got another sucscriber ❤️

Your stitching is beautiful, such fine work. This new tutorial is wonderful and timely for me. Thank you! I just started learning to do a solid dc granny square, only I'm doing 6-round squares and my rounds beginning in each corner, with a dc back into the corner so I'm always starting a round on the corner . The squares are so soft, using Rustic Romantic yarn from hobby lobby.

Hi Jayda, I finally got around to trying out this granny square pattern for my grandson's Afghan. I was having a problem with the rounds that you had to crochet three , dc , dc at the beginning of the rounds it just didn't look right, so I kept taking it apart and kept going back to your tutorial and discovered everything was on the up and up. My stitches were too tight causing the crochet three stitch to hide behind other stitches which in turn I add an extra stitch more stitches than there should have been. I even missed it when I counted my stitches. Kept going back and listening to your words Jayda! I finally got it!
