I am making these squares to create a baby blanket. I want you to know how much I am enjoying all your tutorials on RUclips. You have taught me so much about crocheting. I just started crocheting in October last year. Your an excellent teacher. So far I have made the chick, bunny, sun and bear because I want it to have a baby theme. Today I made a rainbow to fit your square. I didn't have a pattern so I watched your tutorial on making a half circle rug and kind of used it to create my rainbow. Also used your pattern to make clouds. Wish I knew how to post a picture. Thank you for your expertise in Crocheting. You keep my creative juices flowing!

So cute. One with an Easter egg in the middle or an Easter basket would be pretty cool.
We have an Easter Egg applique tutorial you could add to one of your squares! You'll find that here: ruclips.net/video/xebtAyKoTeY/видео.html
👍Thanks. Yeah I just made one last night and it wasn't big enough to fill up my circle/square block like the chick does Or the bunny. ✔But thanks anyways Jayda. I'm sure I can figure a way to make my own larger egg and maybe a simple basket applique too ☺

HI Teresa! Thank you for watching :)
Oh wow! After I did the calendar blanket, I decided I'd make a baby blanket with the bear, bunny & sun, BUT I really wanted another animal. This is perfect (especially since we raise chickens--and bunnies, but not bears). This is a blanket for the upcoming baby of the woman who taught me to crochet, so it must be FANTASTIC! Thank you Jayda!
Great timing!! :) I'm so relieved to know you don't raise bears! LOL
Jayda InStitches Ha! Instead of bears, we raise goats, so anytime you feel like putting together a goat themed square, or toy. . .
This blanket is adorable ❣
this is a cute baby blanket

I was going to do the bunny square for my 2018 Calendar Blanket (your 2017 one) in a couple of weeks, but after seeing this video, I think I'll put the chick in instead 😂
I'm doing two of those calendar blankets (one for me, and one for my mum), but my mum wants the bunny for hers, as she had a white bunny as a kid. She thinks the chick's cute though 😊
This blanket is so cute and adorable, I may just make a bigger one for myself, and call it my Easter Blanket 😂

Hi Mary, thank you for the suggestion :)
Are you going to make more of these types of Granny Squares? I absolutely love them, I know I mentioned I use them in other projects as well as afghans! I really love these a lot!
Hi Jennifer! We have tutorials for 13 of these big fancy Granny Squares so far, plus written patterns for a few more special ones in our Etsy shop :) They all work out to be the same size, so you can mix and match them up :)

Hi Amber, if you wanted to add some Easter egg appliques to your blanket, we have a tutorial on some easy little eggs! You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/xebtAyKoTeY/видео.html
Hola hermoso
Bonito 😊😘
muy hermoso saludos desde ...Peru
Super cute
No entiendo el ingles. Pero como vuena maestra lo entiendo, mas cuando muestra despasito donde insertar la aguja y eso es inportante.🙋♀️👌
Hi jayda Iv just finished my first chick square it turned out so cute though it took a few attempts to get her eyelashes looking good 😊I'm so pleased with it I think I'm going to do three chicks and three just plain pastel colours do I do the square the same starting with a circle and just carry on in one colour until boarder row ? Thanx again for a lovely project ❤️Amanda xx
Hi Amanda, you can use the basic pattern of the circle, that turns into the square and then the same border - just leave off the little appliques :)
Bravo 👍👍👍
Merci!
Super Duper Cute!
Cute....
Hi Jayda, I was just wondering what number of yarn you used. I was using a four. And my pattern for the little chick came out really small. I know you said worsted weight. Was that a 4 or a 5 yarn you used. I just started to crochet about a month ago. I find it very relaxing and a lot of fun. I have watched a lot of your videos. You are very informative and very thorough. I'm going to start following all of the calendar squares and make my own. They are super cute.
Hi there! Worsted weight yarn is a size 4. Our personal stitch tension can often change the sizing of a project, so if you wanted it to be a little bigger, you could try using a larger hook size :)
Jayda InStitches Hey, thanks for your response. I will try that. I can't wait to start the 2018 calender. It is super fun to make. I'm still learning.like I said I've only been at it for a month or so. I'm sure I will get better. I made my wife a purse. She liked it. I also made her several pairs of slippers. Oh my gosh the first ones were awful. 😖.But I enjoy it alot. Practice makes better, right? Thanks for all of your great videos.
Love that little chick😘
wow, fantastic ideas, lovely :)
