I recently found an independent Maserati mechanic who just changed my spark plugs and filters for a fraction of what the dealership was asking. Thanks for another interesting video

Very helpful thank you. Can you provide the model # for your lift?

Its a Direct-Lift. I don't remember the model number but I believe it will lift up to 7000lbs.

Dan, do the crush gaskets and new plug come with the filters you linked to? If not, where do you get them?

Are you talking about the drain bolt and copper crush rings? If so, they are not included with the filters. I stock up on them at the dealer. Its one of the few items the dealer has that is pretty cheap.

It is all about the volume. There are maybe 100 Maserati owner within your area.
Are you still owning B&W 802 and McIntosh system?

They wanted 89 thousand dollars to do an oil change on my aircraft carrier, I did it myself to save money and I ended up taking out the wrong drain plug……there was a sinking feeling in my stomach when I realized my mistake.

$200 at Daves auto repair near me. Still too much but at least it's not literally a criminal price

$200 for this service is very good considering an oil filter from the dealer is now almost $70!!! After the shop pays for the quarts of oil and the oil filter you are probably paying less than $100 in labor. That's good in this high inflation environment, especially if they do a good job.

    Still enjoying the Maserati?
Found your Maserati videos after researching because I’ve been eyeing a 2012 😅

Absolutely, its been a great car so far, but we also didn't buy the cheapest one. We are still loving it and the car has not needed much in terms of service other than regular fluid changes. Good luck in your search!

Great, but you've got a lift which sheds a lot of time. The majority of people have to use a floor jack and supports, then crawl under, unfasten bolts and covers awkwardly, crawl back out, etc., etc. That slows the process way down. I suppose if I had an unreliable and maintenance prone car like a Maserati, a lift would be a good investment since I'd be under there a lot. I kid, I kid...not really. ;)

      Dealers have lifts too! :)
Actually our Maserati has been just as reliable as our Lexus so far, but to be fair we don't put near the miles on it.

@@DIYDanCars That's awesome! I didn't mean to sound like a d*ck. I've had two friends own Maserati's and they've had nothing but problems with them. One is still dealing with their Granturismo and the other got rid of their Quattroporte. Glad to hear yours is going strong. Love the videos!

@@doctajonz2828 No worries! Man, that sucks about your friends! Sorry hear! By chance did they buy the cheapest Granturismo they could find? A lot of people buy these types of cars based on price which is only asking for trouble. I never shop by price (to a point), and instead shop for a 1 owner cars with a great service history. Sadly there are a lot of people who buy these cars and abuse them which creates a nightmare situation for the next owner.

@@DIYDanCars I have had my 2008 Maserati Granturismo for 5 years. I believe cars are meant to be driven, and Its all in how well you maintain your vehicle and how you drive them. if you think you are at the race track every time you get behind the wheel, your car will obviously need more maintenance because things will break faster on them. Race car drivers practically change their engines after every race, and those engines are made for speed.
