By far the best Iron and Driver reviews online. Michael keeps the shafts consistent, always identifies the clubs lofts and provides an excellent data summary at the end.
Do you want high spin numbers vs low spin numbers for irons and what does it mean regarding performance. Does it have anything to do with stopping power on the green?
I feel game improvement irons should use traditional lofts but keep the large size, think Ping Eye2. I think the low loft and spin is not going to help with good golf. You want easy to hit but plenty of spin to get up and hold the greens. I would love a modern take on the old Eye2/Tommy Armours. I feel uncomfortable with a very strong lifted club that perhaps causes me to be worried about sailing past the green.
5000 spin on a 28 degree club, in old money is a 5 iron with 5 iron spin. TM calling it a 7 iron. Makes you wonder what the 5 iron loft and spin is, probably so low that it would be unusable for the target market. Seems pretty odd.
Unless your playing the same irons the pros are, every club out there is 2 off. Todays 7s are a 5 from 20 years ago. I still have a set of RAC irons from 2004 or so snd the 7 iron is 36 degrees. That’s a 9 iron today, but I can carry it 165, so if someone Carrie’s 165 in todays 9 iron, they are very pleased. You can’t look at club numbers today, look at the loft and determine which clubs you actually need. Pointless owning a 4 iron in todays sets
Yeah my old RAC OS Taylormades that i still use that loft is 1* less than my 6 i …. And these are game improvement irons from around 20 yrs back … this big change in loft is a good part of the reason why im not rushing to buy a new set . Ive been typically better at more lofted clubs my whole life,so when i found tHe RAC’s i could make consistent clean contact with from lob - 5i ,and 4i like 85% of the time 4i lil less than that(maybe 75% of the time,3i is 50/50 at times ) …well ,bottomline :I don’t know if i want to spend a fortune on clubs i may hit worse lol
@@vicpnut1 I actually got fitted last weekend into the 790s.my new set should be here in less than 2 weeks. But I went in and wasn’t sure I was going to upgrade, unless I felt a big difference in feel and saw a big gain in numbers. Well the feel was incredible and I was avg 25 yards carry over the rac, so it was a huge difference. Also I was wrong and my 7 iron was actually 33 degrees, so the 790 is only 2.5 stronger. So even if I take away the yardage gain because of the lift alone, it was still a huge difference. I also hit one where I wanted to keep it lower and really drive it out there and on that shot I was able to get 207yds out of the 790. So excited to get them
good review I am trying to decide now between the PXG Black Ops or the Qi10 irons or Qi10 HL irons any thoughts anyone ? I am coming from stealth irons that i sold i did like them just want new irons lol thx cheers from Canada
I've just had some Qi10s fitted - waiting for them, they felt so nice. Tried out the new Callaway AI Smokes and they just didn't feel as nice. Ping G430s were decent too but Qi10s were by far the nicest to hit
So a quick conclusion is that the owners of the Stealth don't need to worry about having to upgrade. In fact the Stealth goes further and by quite a bit.
I bought 8-aw in stealth last year and planned on buying the rest this year but I like to order them custom so I had to buy the qi 4-7 and they've took that draw always club out of it and to me there's something about it that feels good...and saying all that I have last years 790s and when I'm not getting to play much I keep a booklet in my bags of numbers for the 790s and stealth/qi so I don't fly a green😂 but to me when I hit my p790 7 then hit the qi 7 iron there's not much of a difference in the 2 feel wise and we can all use a little more distance....saying all that I'm gonna wait a few months before I buy the 8-aw in the qi I think I've got so use to the flight and mostly around here it's a driver or 3 wood off the tee and unless it's a par 5 it mostly 8 or less in with the clubs and balls we have now...my suggestion is do what I do when I see a club I like from taylormade I buy 1 club usually a 9iron and see how I like it then if I do I order the rest from them
I upgraded from the 2007 CgB max to the stealth and no difference. It’s all a scam to buy the best stuff. Same with the r9 driver to the stealth 2, no difference. Waste of money
@MichaelNewtonGolf I feel like your ball speed on this vid is bit lower than other vids. I was expecting you to hit 125+ mph avg ball speed with 28 degrees.

Wildly underrated YT channel for comparisons. Literally zero competition.
should i buy the stealths if they are on sale ? im trying to buy a new set of irons and debating between these two rn
Yes you can find them at great deals over the Qi10.
Even the sims are good. I switched after 15 years and no noticeable gains. Especially not worthy of the $1400
Did you end up getting the Stealths over the Qi? I’m currently in the same boat
@@txeclothingim on the same boat also please help me lol
so did you buy the stealths or the qi

You’re speaking too much sense! I’d love irons that played like that.

That's why I play 6-PW
It’s been this way for 10 years with all manufacturers

Thanks mike great video one question Did the Qi10 feel any better? I thought the Stealth was very dead felling.
yes slightly more responsive I felt
Thanks Mike will be giving them a try!@@MichaelNewtonGolf
Have set of stealth strong loft & slow swing speeds mine with 7 iron 64 to 68 mph don't get much carry?????
can you please do a review of the q10 vs the t350 please?
Was really thinking of getting the stelth irons or the new qi10 as a 19 handicap but also like the p790 think the later might last longer in the bag
I've just had some Qi10s fitted - waiting for them, they felt so nice. Tried out the new Callaway AI Smokes and they just didn't feel as nice. Ping G430s were decent too but Qi10s were by far the nicest to hit
Get more lessons and practice. It’s not worth the upgrade
Just been fitted too. Ordered Qi but the titleist t350 felt softer off the face but consistency with the TM was very good @kieronbramley6291
Michael! Take your videos to the course too, wedges and putters to the practice green, Expand!
Hey Michael, will you do a review of the new Wilson staff MB/CB irons soon? I know that the 2019 MB model is currently in your bag.
Hi Michael, will you be doing a review on the new staff model cb and blades?
interesting to see the stealth similar considering prices are probably significantly cheaper for last year's model
Not a fan of the plastic look like last year's Callaway P.
+1
Nice spin

Did you just skip through the dispersion? Over 15 yards front to back. That's unforgivable for a GI iron these days.

Wake me up when these companies start making 7 irons that give you around 7000 rpm again.

Cmon. How are you carrying that distance with that swing speed with a 7?.
What, should be longer?
@MichaelNewtonGolf I feel like your ball speed on this vid is bit lower than other vids. I was expecting you to hit 125+ mph avg ball speed with 28 degrees.
Suggestion: wear a quieter jacket when recording a swing... it's so loud that it's somewhat distracting. Thanks for the post!
Ugly, cranked loft hunks of cast metal with a shaft stuffed in them. No thanks.
