Birds Nest Fly

The birds nest fly is super easy and really buggy. It is difficult to tie this incorrectly since the point of it is to make it as buggy as possible. It's basically a modified hares ear fly that adds legs and removes the wing case. Originally I believe this was tied with wood duck for the tail and legs, but I wanted to utilize some hen feathers from one of my chickens who died. I raise chickens and I had one hen that had some very pretty feathers who died and I plucked her feathers and now am using them for some flies. The feathers are slightly mottled kinda like a wood duck. I think the change came out looking pretty good. Let me know what you all think.

I have virtually identical hen feathers and went on a tying spree after seeing this video! Made a slightly different version as a wet fly without the dubbed head! Made a dozen! I am certain it will prove a trout catcher! Thanks!
