Black stoneflies are aquatic insects belonging to the order Plecoptera. They are commonly found in clean, cold, and well-oxygenated streams and rivers, making them good indicators of water quality. The nymphs (immature stage) of black stoneflies live underwater, clinging to rocks and feeding on algae, detritus, or other small organisms. They have long, slender bodies, often dark brown to black in color, and two tails. Adult black stoneflies have two pairs of wings and are typically darker in color, with some species displaying a more matte or shiny black appearance.
Stoneflies play a significant role in freshwater ecosystems as they are both prey and predator. They are also of interest to fly fishermen, who often use artificial lures mimicking stoneflies to catch fish, particularly trout.

Cool tie ....just a suggestion....you could gently heat the zip tie or run 2 pieces of lead wire each side of the hook under a thread base before putting the zip tie on...as I said just a suggestion if someone doesn't have nano silk.....keep up the amazing work, love the channel.

I believe in most cases, fish can identify real food by their silhouette while floating by. Nice tie in to create that image of a real fly.
    Muy bueno. 👨🏼‍🦲👍🏼

this is a cool pattern but i wish he would've used pheasant tail to make the legs, he took so much time with the body, etc, that i seemed like sacrilege.

@@colbeaux the Pheasant Tail fibers are too thin for that sized bug.

You should have just used black .

@LeeChappell-zj3uv then, the abdomen wouldn't be brown on the ventral side and black on the dorsal side like many of the naturals.
