i cant really comment on this practice because I don't know much about it, What I can say as an African child is that there are traditional and spiritual things that are important to many Africans. Over the years, we have lost the true knowledge of such practices and unfortunately, others have become opportunistic in that they have exploited the hardship of others and posed as fake spiritual or traditional healers. From a European perspective, the importance of such things may be difficult to understand and quite frankly, one cannot understand if you have not lived it. The issue is quite complex, and even has us as Africans at times trying to defend ourselves, as it can be conflicting in terms of defining ones values and identity. They ask how can you be Catholic and practice traditional ceremonies as if one is good and the other is evil. Oh well

i cant really comment on this practice because I don't know much about it, What I can say as an African child is that there are traditional and spiritual things that are important to many Africans. Over the years, we have lost the true knowledge of such practices and unfortunately, others have become opportunistic in that they have exploited the hardship of others and posed as fake spiritual or traditional healers. From a European perspective, the importance of such things may be difficult to understand and quite frankly, one cannot understand if you have not lived it. The issue is quite complex, and even has us as Africans at times trying to defend ourselves, as it can be conflicting in terms of defining ones values and identity. They ask how can you be Catholic and practice traditional ceremonies as if one is good and the other is evil. Oh well
