Beth Roesch is like any other country in the world with the good and the bad,but the good is the majority and those Hondurans suffering like these kids in the documentary are just victims of bigger problem, the problem of the drug trafficking brought to Honduras by external powers plus the corruption in our pass governments, but there’s hope and this 2018 Honduras no longer has the highest murder rate outside a war-torn country and the city of San Pedro Sula is not even in the top 25 of the most dangerous cities in the world. Hi Jen, You can donate money to this link = www.savethechildren.org/us/what-we-do/where-we-work/latin-america/honduras/. You can choose the children that you want to sponsor/help. :)
I always have admired how this reporter handle de challenges of his journalism but hear him speaking Spanish n being so compassionate! Wow it blew my mind! My respect to him! Great job!
Being from Honduras I won’t say that I’m proud of the country itself but im proud because there are still humble individuals who fight for their lives every day .
You should be proud they it’s beautiful country with beautiful ppl surrounding by corruption. The gangs (not defending them) is a result of poverty and having no options.
HOw can you and I stay in our warm houses enjoying our comforts without doing anything to push governments to take actions. We are more, we have the power to change things
@@SincerelyMe123 speak for yourself. Where I am from everyday we are fighting with goverment to be better and do better.Just recently we made them cut their salaries in order to help the overly burdened community. When we had hurricanes pass, we threw them out for mis-managing relief funds. We hold them accountable every step of the way and are on their asses like white on rice. Tell me again what you are doing from the comfort of your warm home.
Another thing I wanted to say is my heart also goes out to these children who have joined a gang. I truely believe majority of these kids are not bad kids. I believe these kids are doing what they feel they need to do to survive.
the reporter was so sweet and thoughtful! You could tell he really connected with the kids. He really humanized their stories and highlighted the resilience of the community despite their hardships.
I always respect when the reporter can actually give a full experience of poverty without ever degrading the people or how little they may have. Well done, it does not go unnoticed.
Star Laughter well if you leave in the Ceiba you will have a kinda normal life, if you l in the island of roatan or the other islands of the Bahia it will be like Hawaii (they only use dollars there). In sampedro, if you have money it will be like kinda be NY if not BAM!
But you have to keep in mind that most of these gang members are forced into it, to survive. Often they dont have a choice. all of this is the result of the war. Tragic.
Exactly what I was thinking!! I teach in the U.S. and have to struggle in order to get many of my students to listen, learn & do their work on a daily basis. And let's not talk about the discipline issues along with the rude and disrespectful behaviors!! I would love to teach students who actually wanted to learn and make something of their lives instead of being a "glorified babysitter" who is overworked & underpaid.
My heart absolutely breaks for Bryan!! My kids complain every day they have to go to school and here he is, heart broke over the thought of not being able to stay in school. This world is so messed up!!
So heartbreaking to see the watch this, given that I was born in Honduras and came to this country at the age of 7 I can strongly relate to the struggles and obstacles that they face and even so, it breaks my heart to pieces. I'm beyond thankful for the life I have in this country and for the opportunities I have and I would do anything to share those opportunities that I have with those in need. Amazing video and a great reminder to be thankful for the things I have.
I wish those kids who are thinking of dropping out of school would read what you say. The kids' parents have a hard time coming up with $15 a month for school. School here is free but some kids drop out. Then when they have kids they realize hard to get any job without an education. So they go to school to get a GED. Kids are are spoiled.
Cristhian Sanchez yea I know what you mean, I am a Honduran in Honduras and certainly we do have social problems, but is not everywhere... Honduras is a very beautiful country with a lot of beautiful things to show to the world and not everything is bad as the media portrays, you should take a look at my playlist and educate yourself a little bit more about the culture of this beautiful country.
My family is from San Pedro Sula area in Honduras. Watching this video really makes me appreciate being born in the US and being able to finish middle school, high school and go to college. My mom loved school and was a good student but she had to drop out to help her family and herself. She stresses me and my siblings about education being a PRIVILEGE and not a given right. SO TRUE!!! Even in America not everyone can manage to go to college and graduate for different reasons most being hardship and money. Haven't been to Honduras yet but I definitely plan on it and I hope to help some natives, especially children when I'm there!! I'm very lucky in comparison to them. The least I could do is give back a little and give some of them something to smile about.
Bless Hector and his strong will to continue the education these children need. No person should have to live in a constant state of fear. I pray that these children achieve their goals 💚
Honduras is beautiful, all my family lives there.... and all these things happen because of currupt govt. And thier greedy ways and desire for more and leaving all citizens disabled and all these sorts of things start to happen but i love that Mr. Hector is changing lives of these kids....good job and god bless him.
Sad to watch what they go thru but their corrupt government and criminal fellow hondurans are the ones to blame. Nobody can help these people but themselves. And it seems most want to run away from their problems and expect another country to take care of them. To all the children and families who work hard to achieve honest success and happiness in Honduras, I wish you all the best and much deserved prosperity throughout your life. Always follow your dreams and never give up the fight to be the best you can be. With determination, you will rise above adversity and be a role model to all those that come after you. You are in my heart and my prayers always! Much love to you all from Texas! ❤️❤️❤️
This video made me appreciate my country, Indonesia, more. Here we can go away freely, without having to worry too much, while its not the case for some people. I hope the world could be kinder to them. God bless them.
Much respect for my brothers in Honduras and Central America. Here in Costa Rica we are blessed not to have gangs, but it's really hard seeing these things happen to humble and strong people just around the corner. Respect and union!
I'm in awe of all the UW reporters, their integrity, commitment to journalism, professionalism and stories are truly eyeopening. I would love to have an update from Hector to see where he is 5 years on!
The fact that e started to cry broke my heart @10:32!! Why is it that life is so HARD for some people and easy for others. I live in Jamaica it is not as bad as Honduras but I love with my mom and luckily I got a scholarship to continue my education and its my 1st year of university.
It's really sad that, my country of my family that is from Hounduras that we have to suffer this, when my friends ask me about Honduras I'm like "oh yeah Its a really bueatiful country their that I may wanna visit Again" but then if ur Catracho like I am ur like "what am I saying, it's the most horrible country which I wonder why the bad ppl always live but the innocent ones always lose their life every second " these are reasons why I'm glad that me and my family had the opportunity to come here to the USA and that we live here now and at least we're safe now😢
I cried halfway through. I am Honduran, and I understand the circumstances in which these kids are. Great documentary, awesome reporter. ¡Viva Honduras!
The 14 year old girl has so much faith! Her prayers will carry her through to success! If the natural man cant help you, go to your creator, he will always provide a way!
Whenever I see this it motivates me to continue my schooling in the US so, I can donate money to people in need like these folks I'm glad my mother and dad crossed the border coming here to give me a good life and as I was born here.
I am from Honduras I’m proud of these kids. I have lived and studied in Boston Massachusetts. now I am in Tokyo Japan working. Yo estoy muy Feliz por nuestra gente

Reira Faith and San Pedro Sula no longer has the highest murder rate in the world, the city is not even in the top 25 ... Baltimore in the USA is more dangerous than San Pedro Sula this 2018
Alex Zabala No see thats what the millions the churches collect are for. Not buying luxury homes, cars and jet planes. Who cares what the GOVERNMENTS aren't doing. Its up to the Christians to do something when the governments fail.
Rusty Alcorta I get it...some churches are doing good...but thats why governments EXISTS...in theory of course. What does all the tax money go? No social services? No social welfare? Nope....shadow governments that only take from the people
I remember my parents telling me that you couldn’t go outside later than maybe 8 pm because it was really dangerous 😞 and it truly is, my mother was attacked more than once when she was coming from school at night. . . Thank God that he kept my mother safe and I thank God for bringing my parents to better and safer place 😌
As a Honduran myself it really pains me to see the life this kids are having and how people barely talk about it. My country and their people are beautiful, sadly we have had bad governors over the past few decades which don't really care about youth and their education. Only a small percent of young people are able to go to college so there is a really big gap of opportunities in my country. Thank you for making this problem visible, great work!
This video should be shown to our kids in school. Make them understand how good they have it here. These poor families are trapped in a nightmare that they are trying to get out of, so sad. Much respect for the reporter and Hector, the man setting things in motion for these kids.
this is really brave how these reporter's are willing to go to these places were they can get murdered especially the reporters in wheelchairs, another thing i think is brave is these kids and these families throughout all the videos on this channels they are so brave like some of them are trying to survive Starvstion, Gang shootings, have a child with special needs but doesnt have that provided, etc its so sad how this world is. i wanna give a special prayer to those in need
unreported worlds reporters are always doing an a+ job! they're being respectful, making real connections and you can really tell that the people they're interviewing are comfortable with them
This was an amazing video and so heartbreaking at the same time. Makes one feel extreme gratitude to what we have. Made me feel horrible thinking about Bryan’s situation and his uncertainty of paying for school. I spent $60 last night at the bar. Meanwhile there is this kid who really wants to better himself and help his family and may have had to drop out of school because his family couldn’t afford the $15 dollars for school. I would’ve loved to be able to not go to the bar and hand him the money for school. This video puts things in such a perspective and it hurts, saddens me what some good honorable people have to go through just to wake up the next day.
I’m from Honduras 🇭🇳, from San Pedro Sula specifically choloma and los bordos is where the main poverty is, and it expands when kids don’t finish school public schools in Honduras are the worst some schools don’t even have desks it’s really sad , but then you have the middle class side of the country or the rich one you could say the ones that finish their studies and are privileged, private schools are like the public schools in USA, public Universities sometimes don’t even have classes sometimes which causes kids to not graduate and then poverty hits again in their life it’s a cicle and then poverty expands all over the country it’s a cycle I wish it could end one day
I am terribly shocked , I used to live in Honduras , I was rich though , and I feel broken inside cause I know this is the truth , my family used to help as many as possible , know when I see things like these I just feel bad knowing the necessity these poor Children live , I am glad they at least have hope
The school is called Caminando por La Paz- Honduras , they have a Facebook page. Their donations are given to them by a church I will post the info in a separate comment
How to Donate Please send your tax exempt donations to St. Ann’s Church, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization in Midland, Texas 90% of contributions are used directly to cover tuition payments, transportation, uniforms, and school supplies for the students. 10% are used to pay stipends to students who hold positions of direct responsibility in the handling of the two homes (Father Thomas Home, And Casa Lois Home), and the coordination and management of the scholarship program. All other partners in both the U.S. and Honduras are volunteers motivated only by a desire to contribute to building a better world, a world of equality, peace and justice, in response to the call to serve God by serving our brothers and sisters in need. Growing up in a poor family in India. Even though my father was a police, he spend all his money on alcohol. My school monthly fees was around $5 a month but we really struggle to pay it. My mom collect woods and sell them, thats how i can afford education.
Love watching the real life content you provide. It opens my eyes and shows how lucky I am to be born in the states, the struggle the kids go thru is unreal.
Hats off to this reporter for covering this documentary, and god bless Hector for giving hope to these unfortunate kids in Honduras. We need more role models like him in Honduras.
I was stationed in Honduras for six months while in the U.S. Army and its bad. Shopping trips off duty, you'd see dead bodies in the streets and just walk fast. Many really good people there and there was only so much we could do.
Deletea Hoffensteader Because this country was literally founded by people escaping persecution. Most modern Americans have no ancestral rights to the land they live on, they’re just migrants and refugees who want to prevent others from doing the same thing their own families did.
I'm a first generation Honduran-American, I've always had this apathetic relationship towards the place where my mother was born, but this documentary really hit home for me. I see myself in these kids, I see my family in their mother's and fathers. This whole time I can't help but think to myself "these are my brothers and sisters" idk what to do with this feeling but... shit.
I live in San Pedro Sula and watching this i really do recognize my privilege when it comes to my safety and in which part of town i live. I've always seen the murders on the front page of newspapers specially performed by gang members. I hadn't really witnessed the fear and fright these people feel until my uncle was killed by one of them and another uncle got threats of people wanting to kidnap my little cousin. Even living here I still feel unreported but frequently donate anything i can. really good job on reporting the issue!
Crying, I’m an American born Honduran/Salvadoran and to hear what these kids go through is heartbreaking. Why do the people of my country do this to one another?

Hi Jen, You can donate money to this link = www.savethechildren.org/us/what-we-do/where-we-work/latin-america/honduras/. You can choose the children that you want to sponsor/help. :)
Rulya Farley I’m donating to children international but thanks!
I always have admired how this reporter handle de challenges of his journalism but hear him speaking Spanish n being so compassionate! Wow it blew my mind! My respect to him! Great job!
my fav reporter of unreported world..God bless and may he protect you always..
Faith Mariel same!!
Being from Honduras I won’t say that I’m proud of the country itself but im proud because there are still humble individuals who fight for their lives every day .
their*
You should be proud they it’s beautiful country with beautiful ppl surrounding by corruption. The gangs (not defending them) is a result of poverty and having no options.
Never loose hope , the world is changing. Be positive and stay tuned , light days are coming
Shame Honduras fell to # 2 for murder rate, they used to be number one in something...
Stfu.. You would scared and fearful in their shoes
How can they (government) sleep in their big mansions knowing what the corruption is doing to their people... my hearts breaks for these people!

Yes, this is exactly what happens. Finally someone that understands the situation

I'm from Honduras but I was adopted. thank u so much for helping these people!
I instantly get so happy when I hear Ade's voice. He's such a wonderful reporter and definitely one of my favorites on this channel.
the reporter was so sweet and thoughtful! You could tell he really connected with the kids. He really humanized their stories and highlighted the resilience of the community despite their hardships.
My Grandparents migrated from Honduras to the US 40 years ago. So thankful for how lucky i have it here.
I never thought it was possible for my heart to cry but it did. God bless Hector, these children and their parents
What a teacher!!!! God bless his worm hearts
Mum Of twins hearts with worms??? Lol
Yes, a great teacher. But, WORM HEARTS!?
I always respect when the reporter can actually give a full experience of poverty without ever degrading the people or how little they may have. Well done, it does not go unnoticed.
Such strong people, can't imagine this being my life.
Star Laughter well if you leave in the Ceiba you will have a kinda normal life, if you l in the island of roatan or the other islands of the Bahia it will be like Hawaii (they only use dollars there). In sampedro, if you have money it will be like kinda be NY if not

Star Laughter Yeah, me too, I just can't help correcting strangers on the internet, and people I know, if I see a grammar error. Lol.
4 years later, wish you guys did an update on the school and the kids and Hector.
Makes me so angry that these pathetic little gangs roam about killing people and destroying the country they live in 😡 these poor people!!!
But you have to keep in mind that most of these gang members are forced into it, to survive. Often they dont have a choice. all of this is the result of the war. Tragic.
What are you going to do about it
Gangs are terrible, but the government is worse. They are the real culprit

When kids at developed countries take education granted and this story makes it seem how grateful they should be
Exactly what I was thinking!!
I love the way that the reporter learns phrases of the country he visits. I love the way he puts the effort into making the interviewer feel at ease
Cristhian Sanchez i feel worst, I am in Honduras in the island of roatan in a party on the hotel "copantl"😭😭
Free no in the US homeowners are taxed for that free education. Nothing is free.
I also came to the US but at the age of 5. We indeed are extremely lucky to be here.
Alice Medina YES, FUERA JO
Sad to watch what they go thru but their corrupt government and criminal fellow hondurans are the ones to blame. Nobody can help these people but themselves. And it seems most want to run away from their problems and expect another country to take care of them.
It's amazing that woman spend US $10,000 to ILLEGALLY invade the US and she seems ot see nothing wrong with that! She could've used the money to support her kids thru University or improve her family's living conditions. Instead she chose to hand over the money to a criminal gangster(the same ppl she's afraid of) in order for her to violate US Immigration laws, way to go in common sense and trying to improve your lot!
I wish them the best but unless the hondurans stand up to the gangsters they 'll live in misery for many years. They are responsible for their lives. Running away and expecting US taxpayers to support their kids is irresponsible and above all criminal.
Kudos to Hector
NPC #34008 aka GroupThink Commie she coulda used that money to go to scandinavian countries they would also help her why do they even try to go to usa when they could get better life and much help in Europe???
Honduras is q shithole USA should throw an atomic bomb
KingCR7 Seems like you don’t know anything about Honduras. Check my playlist inform and educate yourself about a country before making ignorant statements .
Hector and The reporter are amazing humans. Much love and respect ❤️😇💪🏾

Bryan has the most blessed heart
God bless Hector for the work he is doing.
Because of Hector and many others these children have had their lives changed so much for the good. The work you do is priceless.
Hector is a miracle worker...
The fact that e started to cry broke my heart @10:32!! Why is it that life is so HARD for some people and easy for others. I live in Jamaica it is not as bad as Honduras but I love with my mom and luckily I got a scholarship to continue my education and its my 1st year of university.
Hector is a living hero. God bless
God bless Hector, and the other teachers for being able to help these children amidst the chaos.
It's really sad that, my country of my family that is from Hounduras that we have to suffer this, when my friends ask me about Honduras I'm like "oh yeah Its a really bueatiful country their that I may wanna visit Again" but then if ur Catracho like I am ur like "what am I saying, it's the most horrible country which I wonder why the bad ppl always live but the innocent ones always lose their life every second " these are reasons why I'm glad that me and my family had the opportunity to come here to the USA and that we live here now and at least we're safe now😢
Sari ikr, may our country get peace one day
I cried halfway through. I am Honduran, and I understand the circumstances in which these kids are. Great documentary, awesome reporter. ¡Viva Honduras!

It's really sad with poverty

Pinche Sylwia Thanks for the update!
Reira Faith and San Pedro Sula no longer has the highest murder rate in the world, the city is not even in the top 25 ... Baltimore in the USA is more dangerous than San Pedro Sula this 2018
where is the source?
Google highest murder rate.
Here is where all the great missionary churches in America should put their money: educating these children.
Rusty Alcorta it's not the obligation of American churches, where is the HONDURAN government???
Thank you Ade, great reporter and God bless Hector.
Hector is a walking angel ♥️ god bless him and his community
Wow. What amazing kids. Thank you, Hector, for being so courageous and doing God's work!

Love watching the real life content you provide. It opens my eyes and shows how lucky I am to be born in the states, the struggle the kids go thru is unreal.
This makes me feel so lucky to be in America. I wish I could help these people somehow
Hats off to this reporter for covering this documentary, and god bless Hector for giving hope to these unfortunate kids in Honduras. We need more role models like him in Honduras.
Beautiful documentary. Sad stories :(
I was stationed in Honduras for six months while in the U.S. Army and its bad. Shopping trips off duty, you'd see dead bodies in the streets and just walk fast. Many really good people there and there was only so much we could do.
You can’t blame these people for trying to come to USA. It’s really rough out there in Honduras.
you cant blame usa for closing borders
I'm a grown ass man crying for these kids I so wanna help then
Woudl love to help them get to the university
