- Part 4/4. Split into parts because of c*pyr*ght issues when I put in the whole scene.
To my show only watchers, here is this scene where Ye Wenjie talks to Saul and tells him a joke. It is a scene……. It could be important; the joke probably means something, but who knows? I’m not here to spoil anything for you, or to even imply there’s something to spoil. Sidenote, did you notice the ant?
To my book readers, the moment I realized Saul was Luo Ji when he brought Ye Wenjie breakfast I lost my mind because I was really looking forward to this scene. It was everything I wanted and needed. From them being at Vera’s grave, to the ant detail, and then unexpectedly, THE joke. I had to look up how it related to what she said in the books and how it related to you know what because it went right over my head. I also liked the detail where Ye Wenjie said that Saul was the smartest among the Oxford-Five. You can tell they were kind of close.
Anyways, no matter which category you fall into, here’s this scene for you to rewatch over and over again, until Netflix announces and releases Season 2 (holding on to the hope).
So god is the universe… the violin is the earth, Einstein are the San-Ti and humans are the Angels? Right? Or am i completely wrong?

@@arekrodriguez6823I believe Ye Wenjie is subtly planting the “Dark Forest” theory in Saul’s mind. Einstein is humanity, and the violin is their attempts to contact other lifeforms. The angels are other alien species warning them not to play (broadcast their position), and God is the San-Ti (or any other aggressive species that would wipe out humanity). “Don’t play with God” has a double meaning: Don’t broadcast your existence to the universe, and don’t think that you are smart enough to know the intentions of any other species.

If you substitute "Dr Ye" for "Einstein" and remember the first message she received from a San-Ti, you'll get it. But it's not about autobiography --it's a dire warning.
